Babysitting Whitebeard’s Crew:How I Accidentally Became a Teen Emperor

Chapter 16: Chapter 16: The Entire Crew Reading Comics?!

Jozu, finally understanding the terrifying potential of Marco's Phoenix flames, sighed deeply. "The stronger the abilities in these comics, the more I feel Lucas is someone we shouldn't underestimate!"

Marco nodded earnestly. "Exactly! No wonder the old man made him a captain. Pops really does have an eye for talent!"

Suddenly, a thought struck Marco, lighting up his face. "Wait! We've been so focused on our gains that we forgot something important—other division captains! Lucas has a massive collection of comics. If the rest of the division captains get abilities from them, the entire Whitebeard Pirates' strength will skyrocket!"

Marco's words carried weight.

This was a world where power meant everything. Even the Five Elders, rulers of the World Government, weren't mere figureheads—they were terrifyingly strong warriors in their own right.

Despite their unwavering loyalty to Pops, the division captains of the Whitebeard Pirates couldn't ignore the grim reality: the Navy, with its Seven Warlords of the Sea and the full backing of the World Government, was a massive force to contend with.

If war truly broke out, as everyone feared, the Whitebeard Pirates would face overwhelming odds.

But now, a glimmer of hope had appeared in the form of Lucas's comics.

"You're right!" Jozu exclaimed. "But we need to ask Lucas first. Those comics are his creations, after all. It'd be crossing a line if we share them without his permission."

Marco agreed. "Exactly. Lucas is not just one of us. He's the acting captain. We owe him that respect."

The two wasted no time and rushed back to the Moby Dick.

Back aboard the ship, Lucas was lounging in his quarters, grinning as the system's prompts filled his mind:

[Ding! Marco completed the first activation of the Phoenix Bloodline. Host synchronized activation progress.]

[Ding! Host receives 30,000 mysterious energy points!]

[Ding! Jozu completed the training of the third gate of the Eight Inner Gates. Host synchronized training progress.]

[Ding! Host receives 80,000 mysterious energy points!]

A wide grin spread across Lucas's face. "Lying down and racking up points. This is the life!"

With this influx of mysterious energy points, he could perform another 10 consecutive gold draws or save up for the legendary diamond draws.

As Lucas debated, Marco and Jozu arrived at his door.

"Lucas, sorry to disturb you again!" Marco called his voice tinged with guilt.

Lucas chuckled, looking at the two. "No need to be so formal. Come in! By the way, Jozu, congratulations on reaching the third gate of the Eight Inner Gates. And Marco, how's the Phoenix bloodline treating you?"

Jozu and Marco exchanged wide-eyed glances, their jaws practically hitting the floor.

"How does he know?!" Jozu whispered.

Lucas continued nonchalantly, "Your improvement makes me happy. So, what brings you here?"

Marco and Jozu hesitated before Marco spoke up. "Lucas, we have a… request. If you think it's too much, please don't hesitate to refuse."

Lucas smiled. "Go on. I can't say no if you don't tell me what it is."

Taking a deep breath, Marco explained, "With the war against the Navy looming, we'll need all the strength we can get. So… we were hoping you'd let the other division captains read your comics to give them a chance to grow stronger."

The words hung in the air.

Lucas laughed heartily, catching the two off guard.

"That's all? Why didn't you ask sooner? Not just the division captains—let the entire crew watch the comics!"

"W-what?!" Marco and Jozu exclaimed simultaneously.

Lucas leaned back with a grin. "The more people read my comics, the better it is for me! Everyone gaining powers? That's a win for all of us. Let the whole crew read them—it's not excessive at all."

Marco and Jozu felt their hearts skip a beat. They'd braced themselves for rejection, only to find Lucas agreeing and enthusiastically supporting the idea.

"Thank you, Lucas!" Marco said, bowing deeply.

As word spread, the atmosphere aboard the Moby Dick shifted dramatically.

Crewmates whispered excitedly as stacks of Lucas's comics were brought out. Division captains and crewmates alike gathered, their eyes lighting up as they flipped through the pages.

The sight was both spectacular and comical: burly pirates, many of them hardened warriors, huddled together like schoolchildren, engrossed in fantastical stories.

Every so often, someone would shout, "I'm going for this power!" or "This one's mine!"

Meanwhile, Lucas sat back, his smirk growing. With every page turned, every new power unlocked, his mysterious energy points soared.
