"Barely Becoming a Titled Douluo, and the Counterattack System Arrives

Chapter 21: Chapter 21: Yu Xiaogang’s Attitude

Yu Xiaogang's eyes showed a trace of satisfaction when he saw Tang San.

He hadn't expected that, in such a short time, Tang San had already advanced to the Soul Elder rank.

Patting Tang San on the shoulder, he said, "Go back to your place first."

Flender then spoke, "Alright, little monsters, attention here."

Tang San and the others lined up in a row, though Lin Fan, of course, had no intention of joining the lineup.

"This is Yu Xiaogang. You can just call him 'Master.' From today on, your training schedule will be under his supervision," Flender introduced Yu Xiaogang to the group, essentially announcing that Yu Xiaogang would now be in charge of their training.

"I've already reviewed your profiles," Yu Xiaogang said, hands clasped behind his back and his face still stiff as usual. "Starting tomorrow, I will be supervising your training. I hope you are all prepared. I'll announce the training content before class tomorrow morning."

"Also, tomorrow at six sharp, everyone must be in the dining hall for breakfast. If you're more than half an hour late, don't bother eating—or attending training for that matter."

"Six in the morning?!"

"That's way too early…"

Oscar and Ma Hongjun muttered to each other in dismay.

Lin Fan simply shook his head. Yu Xiaogang's training plan wasn't much different from what he recalled in the original story.

It was nothing more than the most primitive method of tempering their will—running laps.

Still, there was one benefit: it encouraged teamwork among the seven students, fostering unity.

Moreover, Yu Xiaogang would tailor the training to each person's strengths and weaknesses, which wasn't necessarily a bad approach.

"Xiaogang, you haven't changed at all—still so stubborn and self-opinionated. Let me guess, you're planning to train each student by targeting their martial soul's weaknesses, and to forge them into a cohesive unit, you'll have them do weighted running in the mornings."

"Honestly, if you want to toughen them up, sometimes you need to let go of that pride of yours and ask Zhao Wuji for some advice," Lin Fan said, stepping forward to correct Yu Xiaogang's approach, for the sake of completing his system task.

"Me?" Zhao Wuji looked baffled. "What advice could I possibly offer?"

"Lin Fan, it's been over twenty years since we last met. I didn't expect you to have already advanced to the rank of Titled Douluo and even gained your title," Yu Xiaogang said awkwardly.

Tang San and Xiao Wu were both surprised inwardly.

"They know each other?!"

"Xiaogang, I bet you've been mocked plenty over the years. I told you back then not to spread those so-called 'Ten Core Competencies' theories," Lin Fan said, shaking his head. "But then again, if you listened to advice, you wouldn't have ended up like this."

Tang San couldn't tolerate Lin Fan criticizing Yu Xiaogang like this. He frowned and spoke up indignantly, "Swordshadow Douluo, even though you've helped me a lot, my teacher may not be as strong as you, but he's rich in knowledge and has provided me with excellent guidance. He's a teacher worthy of respect."

"If I were able to reach the Soul Elder rank at age twelve, it's all thanks to my teacher's guidance."

Lin Fan turned toward Tang San and asked, "Did he tell you that innate soul power directly correlates with the quality of your martial soul?"

"Think about it carefully. Do you believe that a useless martial soul like Blue Silver Grass could possess innate full soul power?"

"Don't deny it—Blue Silver Grass is a trash martial soul."

"Or did Yu Xiaogang tell you that because you're training as a control-type soul master, your Blue Silver Grass would naturally differ from others'?"

Tang San's brow furrowed, and Yu Xiaogang also frowned slightly. Tang San replied, "Isn't that the case?"

"This matter concerns your background. If your father hasn't told you, I won't say too much," Lin Fan said calmly. "Just remember: don't treat your martial soul as mere Blue Silver Grass. Compared to her, Blue Silver Grass is nothing like heaven and earth apart."

He couldn't reveal too much, knowing Tang Hao would definitely not tolerate it and might even come after him.

"That's enough, Tang San. Don't question further. Lin Fan's abilities are… special," Yu Xiaogang interjected, stopping Tang San from pressing on.

Yu Xiaogang then turned to Lin Fan and asked, "With your vast knowledge and insight, are you saying Tang San's martial soul isn't Blue Silver Grass?"

Lin Fan replied calmly, "Let's put it this way—his martial soul can be called Blue Silver Grass, but it isn't truly Blue Silver Grass. Besides, what's done is done. He can only continue training as a control-type now. Still, his martial soul is incredibly versatile—it can accommodate a wide range of abilities."

"Uh… Tang San, I don't understand what Swordshadow Douluo means at all," Dai Mubai whispered.

"I don't understand either," Tang San replied helplessly.

Yu Xiaogang's expression darkened. In truth, he had no idea what kind of plant-based martial soul could resemble Blue Silver Grass yet possess such potential.

Flender, seeing Yu Xiaogang fall silent, asked Lin Fan, "Swordshadow Douluo, since you're a Titled Douluo, what do you think would be the best training plan for these little monsters?"

Lin Fan replied plainly, "I'll just give a suggestion. They're at the age where their bodies are developing, so strengthening their physiques isn't wrong—but don't forget, this is also their prime age for cultivating soul power."

"If all they do is weighted running without using soul power, they'll gain nothing in terms of soul power growth. The key to enhancing soul power is repeated cycles of depletion and replenishment. Only through this can they advance faster."

"So, if you want what's best for them and hope they perform well in the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament, it'd be better to leave this place early and head to Liu Erlong's Blue Tyrant Academy instead. That academy offers far superior training conditions."

"After all, your goal of forging them into a perfect team still requires soul power as the foundation. Without sufficient soul power, everything else is just nonsense."

Lin Fan spoke calmly, leaving it to them whether they wanted to listen.

Flender's eyes revealed a glimmer of shock as he thought,

"I just promised Xiaogang yesterday, and today this Swordshadow Douluo already knows everything. As Xiaogang said, what's truly terrifying about Lin Fan isn't his power, but his unfathomable foresight."

However, upon hearing Liu Erlong's name, Flender and Yu Xiaogang reacted very differently.

"Lin Fan, maybe your suggestion makes sense," Yu Xiaogang said with deep regret, his tone filled with melancholy. "But… Erlong… I still don't know how to face her. I should've listened to you back then."

Lin Fan was taken aback, puzzled by Yu Xiaogang's unexpectedly cooperative attitude.

"This isn't right. Yu Xiaogang has always been stubborn and prideful. By now, he should've been arguing back fiercely… but instead, he's acting… too agreeable."

What Lin Fan didn't know was that Yu Xiaogang's attitude had shifted because he was now filled with deep regret. After recalling Lin Fan's previous advice and reflecting on his years of hardship, Yu Xiaogang couldn't help but blame himself for not listening back then.

"Swordshadow Douluo, since we don't know how to face Erlong right now, why don't you just offer us some training suggestions?" Flender asked, seeing Yu Xiaogang remain quiet.

Lin Fan nodded. "It's very simple. If you want to build their physical strength, have them run for an hour every morning after breakfast as a warm-up."

"Then, have Zhao Wuji use his gravity compression soul skill to force them to withstand intense pressure until both their soul power and stamina are completely drained."

"After lunch, let them rest for two hours. In the afternoon, arrange sparring sessions to help them become more familiar with each other's combat styles. At night, send them to the Great Spirit Arena to participate in team battles."

"This is about as much as you can do for now, given your limited resources," Lin Fan said calmly.

"What?! Swordshadow Douluo… my dear Brother Fan… that means we won't have any free time left at all!" Ma Hongjun wailed in despair.

The others also stepped back in horror, staring at Lin Fan as if he were some kind of demon.

"Heh heh, now that sounds like a good plan. I love training these little brats," Zhao Wuji said with a sinister grin.
