Chapter 208: The End, Fame Spreads
As Yun Shan felt the sudden surge of Mo Yu's power, his expression grew more serious. The winds around him intensified, and the white light on his fingertip became increasingly blinding, almost like a sun in the sky.
"Ultimate Wind Strike: Death's Fall!"
In an instant, the air around Yun Shan froze. His finger pointed sharply at Mo Yu, and with a powerful shout, the white light burst forth, shooting out a thin beam at terrifying speed. The space around it trembled, leaving a black trail in the blue sky.
This terrifying technique was the same one Yun Yun had used against the Amethyst Winged Lion King years ago, slicing through its horn, the toughest part of its body. As soon as Yun Shan unleashed this move, Jia Xing Tian and the others in the distance quickly retreated, their faces filled with fear.
Mo Yu watched the white beam approach with a calm gaze. He slowly raised his hand, and the purple-gold light swirling around his fingers suddenly flared up, becoming so bright that it was impossible to look directly at it.
The purple-gold light grew more intense until it was almost like a small sun in the sky. Mo Yu's eyes turned cold, and in an instant, a sword of purple-gold energy appeared, filled with terrifying power, and shot toward Yun Shan.
The energy sword cut through the sky with a deafening boom, carrying such force that it seemed capable of splitting the heavens. Under the gaze of countless onlookers, the sword clashed head-on with the white beam.
In that moment, a thunderous explosion shook the sky. The terrifying shockwaves from the collision spread out, causing some of the people standing in the square below to be crushed to the ground by the immense pressure.
"So this is the power of a Dou Zong? It's truly extraordinary."
Even from a distance, Jia Xing Tian and the others felt the force of the shockwave, forcing them to retreat further. Stabilizing himself, Jia Xing Tian looked up at the battlefield with burning eyes. He was a peak Dou Huang, nearly a Dou Zong himself, but even so, the gap between him and a true Dou Zong was immense.
"Mo Yu might also have the power of a Dou Zong right now. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to block Yun Shan's Ultimate Wind Strike. After all, when Yun Shan was just a Dou Huang, he used this move to kill two equally powerful enemies from the Chu Yun Empire," Fa Ma said seriously.
"Did you notice that after Mo Yu's sudden increase in power, the purple-gold energy he's using doesn't seem like Dou Qi? It feels more like a bloodline power," Fa Ma observed, his refined senses as an alchemist picking up on the difference.
"It does seem that way," Jia Xing Tian agreed with a nod.
"This kid is really hard to figure out," Fa Ma muttered after a moment of thought, shaking his head with a wry smile.
Jia Xing Tian nodded in agreement, then looked back up at the battlefield. When he saw that Mo Yu was still standing unharmed in mid-air, he chuckled.
"It seems like Yun Shan will have a hard time stopping the Xiao family's twin dragons today. And with Hai Bodong and that mysterious Dou Huang watching closely, the Yun Lan Sect has really hit a tough spot this time."
As a member of the royal family, Jia Xing Tian had always been wary of the powerful Yun Lan Sect. If Mo Yu could bring Yun Shan down a peg, it would be beneficial for the royal family. He then thought about his great-granddaughter, Yao Ye. If Yao Ye could form a marriage alliance with Mo Yu, it would secure the royal family's future.
However, he quickly shook the thought away. First, he needed to see if Mo Yu could escape the Yun Lan Sect. After all, Yun Shan was a formidable opponent with decades of experience.
"You can't keep me here, Sect Master of the Yun Lan Sect," Mo Yu said, his robe billowing as he dispersed the last of the energy shockwaves in front of him. A cold smile appeared on his handsome face.
Yun Shan looked at Mo Yu, who stood unharmed, and thought about the terrifying purple-gold energy that had clashed with him earlier. After a moment, he took a deep breath and said, "You are indeed strong. Even though I've reached the Dou Zong level, I fear I cannot defeat you."
"In that case, let us go, Xiao Yan and I," Mo Yu said calmly.
Yun Shan frowned slightly, hesitating but not outright refusing. The square fell into silence once again, as no one else dared to speak while these two powerful figures negotiated.
Cloud Lings felt a surge of anxiety as he watched Yun Shan hesitate. He didn't want all their efforts to go to waste and let Mo Yu leave the Yun Lan Sect unscathed.
"Old Sect Master, if we let Mo Yu and Xiao Yan go, it will damage the Yun Lan Sect's reputation!" Yun Leng shouted, unable to contain his anger any longer.
"Let them go!" Yun Shan sighed, his eyes fixed on Mo Yu as he suddenly waved his hand.
A collective sigh of relief swept through the square. The situation had escalated beyond what anyone had expected, and many were eager to see it resolved. Who knew how many more powerful figures might get involved if this continued?
"Old Sect Master…" Yun Leng began to protest.
"Enough!" Yun Shan snapped, his face darkening. He turned to Mo Yu and said, "I won't pursue the matter of who's right or wrong today. But if you ever harm another elder of the Yun Lan Sect, even if you have power comparable to a Dou Zong, we won't let it slide as we did today."
"As long as the Yun Lan Sect doesn't provoke me, I won't cause trouble for you," Mo Yu replied, casting a glance at Yun Leng.
"Go," Yun Shan said, waving his hand with a slight scowl.
With that, Mo Yu retracted the immense power within him, nodded to Xiao Yan and the others, and without another word, began walking toward the stone steps leading out of the square.
Seeing this, Xiao Yan hefted the heavy Xuan Heavy Sword over his shoulder and followed Mo Yu, with Hai Bodong and Ling Ying close behind. Under the watchful eyes of the entire Yun Lan Sect, Mo Yu and Xiao Yan slowly disappeared into the misty stone steps.
"Finally, it's over…"
Watching the two figures vanish into the distance, the powerful individuals in the trees around the square let out long breaths of relief. They exchanged wry smiles, realizing that what had started as a simple duel between two young people had escalated into a situation that left even them awestruck.
After today, the fame of the Xiao family's twin dragons would surely spread throughout the entire empire!
