POV Rio

I had just seen off Shukaku for the possibly last time. I had learned all I could from them and now my training would be under Toph. She was quite interested in Shukaku's abilities. They even fought and Toph won. Which makes sense I suppose given she is considered stronger than Gaara. Though, I do wonder if that would be the case if they fought for real.

'I may know later on if I summon Gaara. I wouldn't let them fight to the death but it would be interesting to see who is the superior Earth user.'

I had decided it was time to open a Mystery Box. Despite summoning Alduin in a previous box I still got great rewards for defeating him. So I trusted in my luck to see if I get something good this time. I activated Lucky Star and I opened the box and as usual, it was empty. But unlike before I felt something. Someone was connecting to me.

'A Jedi. From far away. I see an ocean and cities of white stone or metal. Glass tubes that connect the buildings. And... living beings... many living beings. They look like... Mon Calamari.'

Rio: "So the Mon Calamari were summoned? But how many? I guess I should let Tex know."

Beep Beep

Rio: "Speak of the devil and he doth appear."

I answer the call.

Tex: "Sir, there is a situation that I am not certain how to respond to. Master Shaak Ti has requested I contact you to confirm the identities of the individual contacting us."

Rio: "Who is contacting us?"

Tex: "He calls himself Jedi Knight Nahdar Vebb. Shaak Ti confirms he sounds and looks like him but she cannot be certain it is truly him."

Rio: "I will be there shortly."

I teleport to the command room on Gaia. When I arrive I see several people looking over reports and checking the data to confirm the location of those contacting us.

Rio: "I am here."

Shaak: "Rio, this Jedi looks like the Nahdar I know but I wasn't willing to take the chance just in case."

Rio: "It was a logical choice. There are those out there that can mimic the looks of others. While I am not certain how they would learn of Nahdar and learn how he acts it is still prudent to be cautious."

I follow Shaak Ti to the communication room and see a hologram of Nahdar Vebb and another Mon Calamari that I felt I had seen before but was not sure where.

Nahdar: "Greetings your highness. I am glad we can finally meet."

Rio: "You are indeed Nahdar. You must be the one who connected with me earlier."

Nahdar: "Indeed it was I. I defaulted to my connection to the Force to get a feeling for where we were. I was shocked when the Force responded so clearly. I must say you are not what I expected of what the Force would manifest itself as."

Rio: "This is just my human form. Now care to introduce me to the young man beside you."

???: "I am King Lee-Char of Mon Cala. It is an honor to meet Your Highness. We have much to discuss. I extend an invitation to Mon Cala. I can send the coordinates."

Rio: "That won't be necessary. I can sense your location based on Nahdar. I shall be there momentarily."

Rex: "Sir, I must suggest you take an escort. We cannot be certain that all the residents of Mon Cala will respond kindly to your presence."

Shaak Ti: "I have to agree. While I know of Nahdar and his former master I do not know much about Mon Cala and its internal situation."

Rio: "I can't bring Aqua Droids as that would be insensitive. We don't have Aqua-equipped Soldiers. But I can call the Siren Sisters. They are aquatic."

Rex: "Sigh. Very well I guess that will have to do. I will add the Aquatic training to our work so my men can be ready if a situation appears like this again."

Rio: "Thank you for your work and concern General."

I go back to Earth and get the 3 Sirens to accompany me, as they have experience with high culture along with their aquatic forms. I also get into some formal attire before we teleport to Mon Cala. Once we arrive, I see a royal procession on the only surface land mass on the planet. I greet King Lee-Char, and we go to a meeting room, where he starts explaining his situation.

Lee-Char: "Our homeworld was destroyed by the Empire. They poisoned our oceans. Billions perished. Then after our death, we didn't die and instead found ourselves in a large void. We were offered a contract. To serve you in exchange for our species living on. Many were too mentally weakened and refused. I negotiated with the presence giving the contract. We had numbers and we used that as a bargaining chip."

Rio: "That is fairly impressive. A few of my summons did the same. Most don't think to negotiate and just accept after thinking for a bit."

Lee-Char: "I had to look out for my people. After a long negotiation, we finally got the following terms. We would get a new planet that is perfect for our survival. The planet would be near you or inside your territory. The planet would have infrastructure in place that was the same as our old home world. We would be given perfectly healthy and young bodies. And finally, we wouldn't be slaves. That was all we could get and once I confirmed the terms many left for various reasons. Some because they thought the terms weren't good enough or they were old and tired. Some left because they were only staying to support me in the negotiations."

Rio: "Sounds like you are loved by your people."

Lee-Char: "Hah, indeed. Now I want to join your Empire officially and I want you to treat my people well. That was the final clause in the agreement. If you refuse us or attempt to destroy us we will resist."

Rio: "I would never do that unless there was no other choice. But I would find a way that it wasn't the case. But gladly accept your allegiance. And I welcome the Mon Calamari to the Crystal Imperium."

Lee-Char smiles and gives me a heartfelt bow before rising.

Rio: "Now can you tell me what the current situation of Mon Cala is?"

Lee-Char: "Of course. We have 3 Billion Mon Calamari. The army stands at 20k with an additional royal guard of 2000. While we have no ships we do have numerous underwater transport craft. We have 28 cities all connected and accounted for. The planet itself is smaller than the original Mon Cala but it is more than spacious enough for now. The local flora and fauna are identical to our old world. Or at least it seems to be. We have 3 Jedi. Including Nahdar Vebb, Eekar Oki, and Bant Eerin."

Rio: "The Army is a bit small but that's somewhat expected and we already have a sizeable army. I will have a fleet deployed to protect Mon Cala. 2 Knights and a Master. The Jedi will require training as the order I made is different from the old Jedi Order. Does any Mon Calamari know how to make spaceships? I have heard that Mon Calamari vessels are impressive."

Lee-Char: "I can't say for certain but there should be a few. As for the Jedi. I have no issue. They are technically not under my command."

Rio: "If you have anyone knowledgeable let me know as always have openings in the Science Division."

We finalized some more details before I left and I let the others know about what happened. To be kind to the Mon Calamari I had Venators sent to protect them rather than CIS or Imperial ships as I figured that would be the least insensitive choice. Once that was done I went home to open another Mystery Box since the last one was such a massive gift. So I wanted to try again. I opened another box and waited for anything.

Rio: "Huh, well it must have summoned something comedic or weak enough I don't sense anything. Should I risk it and open the last one? Let's flip a coin. Heads yes, Tails no."

Tails: "But I wasn't doing anything?"

Rio: "Oh hi Tails. Why are you here?"

Tails: "I don't know. I just felt like I needed to come here and here I am."

Rio: "What an odd thing to say."

Tails: "Well I am going to head back to the lab. Have a nice day."

'Well with that done let's flip the coin.'

I toss the coin and it lands on its side.

'That's a bit ominous. Maybe that is a sign I shouldn't open it. Or... it could be an extremely lucky situation. Hmm. Eh, Wynaut?'

I opened the last box and as usual, it was empty but this time I got a quest.

Authors Note:

I will not say what is in the second Mystery Box. The Mon Calamari Jedi were all the ones I could find other than one that was a New Republic Senator that I decided not to include. the training with Shukaku was skipped over as it was nothing that interesting and Shukaku is the weakest Tailed Beast. As for the quest Rio will have to be thorough so he can't just pop in and kill the Master as the Super Mutants will just scatter or rampage. Until next time Ciao.
