Chapter 106: 106: Encountering Night Raid Again
After dinner, Taeko, the head maid, had Sayo and the others clean up the table, while Haruki headed to Kurome's room to rest.
It had to be said—there were quite a few girls around Haruki now. That made the question of whose room he stayed in each night a bit of a dilemma. If he spent too much time with one girl, the others might feel neglected. So Haruki tried his best to keep things balanced, making sure he spent roughly the same amount of time with each of them. Tonight, it happened to be Kurome's turn.
If the others found out what Haruki was troubled by, they'd probably want to strangle him.
Haruki and Kurome arrived at her room together. Although Kurome was already seventeen or eighteen, Haruki had always spoiled her, which left her with a kind of lingering childlike innocence. Her room reflected that—it was decorated with a fairy-tale flair.
Haruki knew the place just as well as Kurome herself. He made his way effortlessly to the enormous, luxurious bed in the center of the room, large enough to fit over a dozen people. Just from this bed alone, one could see how extravagant Haruki's villa truly was.
Without any unnecessary words, the two dove straight into a passionate encounter.
Kurome was a rare kind of strong woman. At Haruki's urging, she had also taken up martial arts, which meant her physical strength far exceeded that of an ordinary girl. As a result, their sessions often lasted far longer than usual.
Those seductive, breathless sounds continued deep into the night before finally fading.
"Squeak... thud thud..."
As the storm passed and Haruki and Kurome lay in each other's arms, ready to rest, the soft creak of a door opening, barely audible, was followed by the sound of footsteps gradually drawing closer to the room.
"Sister, what are you doing here?"
Hearing the noise, Kurome lifted her head. When she saw it was Akame, she immediately sat up, a bit surprised, and asked.
Kurome had no idea just how enticing she looked at that moment.
To Haruki, her pale, bare skin still carried a faint flush from their time together. The fatigue from the long night left a lazy, languid charm hanging about her body.
Seeing her like this, the desire in Haruki that had only just settled down began to burn all over again...
Akame fidgeted nervously, her cheeks flushed as she stood before Kurome, struggling to find the right words.
"Um... Sis? What are you doing here?"
Unable to explain herself, Akame made a split-second decision. With a quick tug, she shrugged off her coat, took two swift steps forward, and slipped under the covers between them before either could react.
Kurome's usual aloof demeanor shattered instantly. "Wha—?!" she gasped, eyes wide with disbelief.
This wasn't the naive Akame from the original timeline. The moment she'd seen Kurome and Haruki leave the dining hall together earlier, she'd known exactly what they intended. Yet somehow, against all reason, here she stood in their bedroom.
"I want to sleep with you both."
Past the point of caring about appearances, Akame met their stunned gazes without flinching.
"Are you joking? Get out!" Kurome snapped, as shocked as Haruki by her sister's boldness.
"No." Akame's voice held uncharacteristic steel. "I'm staying with Brother tonight."
Since returning with Haruki, this marked the first time she'd stood her ground against Kurome.
That night in the southwest—their one and only time sharing a bed with Haruki and the others—remained burned in Akame's memory. The dizzying pleasure, the sense of floating beyond the clouds...
Guilt gnawed at her too. Her betrayal of the Empire to join the Revolution had hurt Haruki, though he'd never reproached her. This was her way of atoning, of healing whatever wounds she'd inflicted.
Moreover, like all traditional women in Haruki's circle, Akame had considered herself his wife since that southwestern night. Attending to her husband's needs was only natural.
Most of all, she needed this tether. The fear haunted her—that her past betrayal might someday drive Haruki away, leaving scars no apology could mend.
"Fine." Kurome exhaled sharply. "Do what you want. I give up."
She collapsed backward onto the mattress. The night's exertions had already drained her, and this confrontation left her more exhausted than controlling eight Super-Class Danger Beasts simultaneously with Yatsufusa.
Akame's heart leapt at Kurome's surrender. Her sister had actually spoken to her at length tonight—an unexpected gift. Turning hopeful eyes toward Haruki, her silent plea couldn't be clearer.
Haruki's restraint shattered. Why resist when Kurome had already stoked his desires anew? In one motion, he flung aside the covers and pinned the now-naked Akame beneath him, their bodies moving together in another marathon "battle."
Near dawn, when the fray finally ended, a partially-recovered Kurome found herself drawn back into the fray.
In the days that followed, the sisters' relationship noticeably thawed—and Akame couldn't stop smiling.
