Chapter 4: Chapter 4 — Eldwyne Station
Ben and Tyler had arrived in a completely different place.
They stepped out from within a tunnel of white light, only to find themselves standing at a railway station that looked nothing like the ones in the real world.
As they looked around, they noticed something strange—it was night here, even though it had only just been morning in the world they had come from.
Tyler turned to Ben, confused. "Ben, where are we? Do you know this place?"
Ben shook his head. "No idea. But from the look of it… we're definitely at some kind of station."
Just then, an old woman appeared before them. Startled, both boys stepped back slightly.
She pointed at Ben. "So, you're Ben Roland, and you must be Tyler Roland, Ben's cousin. Am I right?"
Tyler looked puzzled. "Yes… but how do you know that?"
The woman moved closer to Ben. "That glowing crimson letter—I sent it. So you could find your way here."
Ben frowned. "But why? And what is this place?"
"I am Morwenna," she replied calmly, "and this is Eldwyne Station."
Morwenna looked Ben in the eyes. "Do you know anything about your parents, Ben?"
Ben slowly shook his head.
"Then come with me," she said gently.
"Where to?" Tyler asked cautiously.
"To Raventon," Morwenna answered, "where your education will begin."
Tyler blinked. "What… there's school here too? Oh, come on…"
Morwenna chuckled. "The world you've come from is very different. Here, you'll learn magic… and powers beyond your imagination."
"Like Superman?" Tyler asked, wide-eyed.
"Yes," she smiled. "Just like that."
Tyler lit up with excitement.
Ben looked at him. "Don't you think you'll miss Uncle Richard and Aunt Margaret?"
Tyler shook his head. "No… and I doubt they'll miss me either."
Ben looked confused. "But… they're your parents."
Tyler sighed and began explaining:
"One evening, I was in the kitchen—Mum was preparing dinner. Dad came home and didn't realise I was there.
He told her, 'I can't stand Tyler anymore.'
She replied, 'Don't forget—we need him for our plans.'
That's when I realised… I was never really their son."
Ben stood still, stunned. "So that's why you came with me…"
Tyler nodded silently.
Ben turned to Morwenna. "Why was Eldwyne Station connected to the wall behind our garage?"
Morwenna's expression turned serious. "Because it was created by your father, Edward Roland.
And your mother, Clara Roland, was a powerful Spellwright."
"Spellwright?" Tyler asked curiously.
Morwenna began to explain, her voice filled with an ancient reverence.
"Spellwrights are incredibly rare, ancient magic-wielders.
They don't speak spells. They don't use wands.
They write their magic—using enchanted ink, blood, or essence.
And every word they inscribe… has the power to twist and reshape reality."
"Wow… amazing," Tyler whispered.
Ben's eyes were drawn to a nearby engine.
"That's a steam train."
Morwenna nodded. "Yes. That will take you to Raventon."
She handed them two small glowing passes.
Tyler inspected his. "Are these tickets?"
"No," Morwenna said with a soft smile. "They are passes. For special people."
Tyler grinned. "So we're special?"
Morwenna looked at Ben. "Yes.
Because you are the son of Edward Roland and Clara Roland."
Ben smiled softly, a spark of something new forming in his heart.
And with that…
his journey had begun.
Under the stars, at the edge of a hidden world,
Ben Roland took his first step toward the truth.
