(POV Artemis)

'Oh my god! Oh my god! He actually asked!'

I was told by M'gann that Wally's been pestering her with more flirting and I also had fallen victim to it. 

The past few times I just pushed it off but each time it. Got more and more vulgar with each try.

Until I couldn't take it anymore I brought Wally to the side where no one could see and I let him have it.

After screaming my ass off to him Wally started flirting less with me and more with M'gann but at least Wally's vulgarity stopped.

I mention this cause throughout the constant flirting I realized that I felt feelings for Josh at first I thought it was shyness at his defending of me with Oil's old apprentice.

But I think it's developed into actual affection due to the time we've spent together even though it's short it felt oddly comforting compared to most of my life.

In my thoughts, I knew the only way to get it out of my head was to hit the weights in the training room so I made my way to the door only to stumble onto the guy I was thinking of.

I was shocked to see him and after stopping in motion and staring into his eyes I saw shyness like me from before I then brought my eyes to Josh's cheeks were blushing red.

The next moment Josh began to speak breaking eye contact for a brief moment and without hesitation I spoke.

"Yes!"

Josh looked confused at my answer and then soon smiled weirdly so I asked based on his reaction.

"Josh you okay?"

Josh looked like he was daydreaming and was then taken back to earth and responded to my question.

"I'm okay. S-So when are you free?"

"I'm free whenever."

I tried hiding the excitement in my voice but it was hard doing just that before I could even react Josh gave me the date.

"Does tomorrow night sound good?"

I only smiled and my enthusiasm got the better of me and I shouted.

"Yes!"

I instantly after saying that looked down looking beat red from my cheeks. I could feel his staring but before I looked up Josh spoke up.

"Ah? I'm going to go work out if you need me I'll be there."

I was going to respond but was stopped by the sounds of Batman's voice echoing through the speaker system inside the mountain.

"All members report to the briefing room."

(POV General)

Artemis and Josh were the last to arrive finding everyone waiting including Robin who returned with Batman. 

Once noticed Batman walked to Josh giving him a thumb drive and then walked back to the center of the room without uttering a word.

At the center of the briefing room, Batman goes over the team's next mission located in Gotham City.

"Clayface has escaped Arkham Asylum and your mission is to retrieve him and return him to Arkham. That is all."

Batman swiftly left the base through the Zeta Tube leaving Josh in his hero outfit to go over the mission with everyone.

"According to Batman Clayface's last known location was within the sewers of Gotham. Robin and I will lead a team in each different part of the sewer and slowly converge on target if spotted let the team know."

Everyone didn't speak but nodded their heads in understanding making their way towards BIOSHIP for a ride.

Once aboard BIOSHIP takes the Team to Gotham from DC within thirty minutes which for normal planes would take several hours.

As they entered Gotham Josh was met with some familiar sights when patrolling the rooftops which he hadn't done a lot of except the time when that Vulture attacked them.

Josh shudders at the thought of that Vulture reappearing taking his blood.

"Descending to ground level."

Miss Martian piloted the BIOSHIP after telling the team about the approaching objective.

Once on the ground, the team broke up into two separate teams. Robin led Kid Flash, Aqua-Lad, and SuperBoy. The rest was with Shift who left towards his team's entry point.

(POV Josh)

After splitting up the Team my group soon arrived at our sewer grate which was removed quite easily due to Miss Martian's telekinetic powers.

Once removed I entered the sewers first followed by Artemis then Miss Martian Who levitated into the sewer.

Once inside I went through my pockets taking out a tracker to keep track of the other team in case we needed to follow their location.

So far the mission went by quite well but for some reason, no one spoke well telepathically.

I thought it was cause we were on a mission but we're all high schoolers so it should be normal.

I shouldn't let this plague my thoughts and continue the mission.

After another few minutes of following the pipes, we arrived at some old subway tunnels that were connected to the sewer. 

-Miss Martian can you sense Clayface?-

I asked through the already established link by MM telepathy before the mission began.

-Yes I believe ClayFace is near us but I don't know where. I'm sorry.-

-It's alright. Artemis.-

Artemis reacted to my command firing an arrow down the subway tunnel but this wasn't any normal arrow.

It was one especially designed for ClayFace's weaknesses. The first is freezing the target or electrifying it or by using Sound waves.

Once the Arrow was sent flying a deafening screech could be heard throughout the tunnel following the screeching came a roar of anger and annoyance.

"Team ClayFace is at our location ETA?"

Nothing?

No response. At first, I assumed static but then used the Psychic link MM made and tried reaching them but again my communications didn't get through.

-Damn-

"Miss Martian find the others Artemis and I'll distract this Mud Man."

After phasing through the wall MM followed my order and began looking for the team while both I and Artemis watched ClayFace scream in pain.

Which soon stopped after he found the sonic arrow smashing it into bits.

Artemis was cocking another arrow on her bow getting ready to let the arrow fly. While I was getting the muddy monsters' attention.

"Raaahhh!!!"

ClayFace screamed like a banshee as he threw mud-like clay projectiles towards me. 

The projectiles once in the air shifted from their once liquid form to that of a stalagmite.

The clay projectiles were easy enough to dodge but the challenge wasn't within the clay but the man behind it.

ClayFace somehow used one projectile as a cover shooting another one at me but this one was just his fist punching me into the wall. Breaking it.

*Cough Cough*

(POV General)

Upon the hit of Shift's body to the wall. Shift was thrown through towards the building next to it.

Shift from the impact fell to the ground feeling his body for any wounds while Artemis suffered a similar fate to Shift.

Artemis was flung but she cushioned her fall by shooting an arrow at the ground which upon impact created a red foamy substance received a red cloud.

"Now this is Fun!"

Theo monster between man and mud the ClayFace erupted from the hole in the wall he created showing his disgusting appearance as a tie between man and monster.

The Clayface began to laugh after its comment and smiled vileneassly facing Shift as his target.

The sounds of shifting clay could be heard from ClayFace as he retracted his hand changing it into an axe facing his opponent's with the face only a mother could love.
