Chapter 194: Chapter 194: The Devonshires are All Psychopaths
"God, a billion-dollar revenge fund?" Smith exclaimed, staring at William in shock. "You Devonshires are truly mad. Your four great-grandfathers were, Henry was, and so are you. In fact, you're even crazier than they were."
"I don't care what happens to Europe after I'm dead. Goodbye, gentlemen. I still need to go make money. Some people just need to talk to rake in loads of cash. Sigh, I wish my son could be like some people," William said, his eyes shifting to the silent Stark.
Realizing William was referring to him when talking about sons, Stark knew he was being insulted. "F*** you, William."
"Hehe, remember to watch the news. Bye-bye."
After William left, Smith shook his head at the furious Stark. "Tony, you really need to change your attitude. If you hadn't provoked William first, he wouldn't be scheming against you. Someone like William makes a great friend. If you check, you'll find out that he went on a killing spree in France for a friend. Fortunately, William has some limits. He never kills ordinary people or good people, no matter how they provoke him.
The Devonshires are loyal to their friends, but they don't care about morals or laws when dealing with enemies. Wiping out entire families is something their family has done more than once in history.
During that war, two of William's great-uncles killed their own men to eliminate the enemies who had killed their brother and then went down with them. So, talking is fine, but if you decide to act, make sure it's a fatal blow. Otherwise, don't even try."
"Hehe, only an idiot would go against that schizophrenic William. Cooperation is the way to win-win, Mr. Smith. William isn't as crazy as you think. I guarantee nine-tenths of what he said was to remind you not to renege on the deal.
As an arms dealer, I have no conflict of interest with him. You should seriously consider what shares to offer that miser William. If you default, he might blow up Caesar's Palace. Didn't you hear him threaten to blow up my house in Malibu? Haha."
Stark hadn't spoken much earlier because Jarvis was feeding him information through his earpiece. Thinking about what William had done made even Stark's scalp tingle. Luckily, William, as Smith said, had some bottom lines, only killing those who deserved it. Otherwise, Stark wouldn't want to deal with someone so ruthless.
But thinking about William's flaws, Stark sat with his drink, plotting. Having a ruthless friend might come in handy someday. But the thought of being humiliated by William still irked him. He was always the one doing the humiliating, not the other way around.
Contemplating William's behavior, Stark wondered if he really had schizophrenia. This thought startled him. Better observe him more; who knows when William might have a breakdown and take him out.
If William knew what Stark was thinking, he would definitely beat Stark so badly even his secretary wouldn't recognize him.
If not for the risk of mental trauma from killing ordinary people, William wouldn't care about ordinary people. To him, those who didn't provoke him were good people, and those who made him money were even better. Everyone else was just wood.
Returning to Caesar's Palace, William casually told the butler, Jessie, that he wanted to watch a boxing match.
Jessie thought for a moment and said, "It seems there's a WBC and IBO heavyweight title match between Klitschko and Lewis at the Beautiful People Hotel tomorrow night. If you want to watch, I can book the best seats for you."
William smiled internally. This meant George and Peter were making their move tomorrow. "Thanks, Jessie. Please book the tickets. If you have time, you can accompany me. I still need a date."
Jessie's face reddened slightly at William's suggestion, and her gaze towards him became somewhat meaningful.
Hehe, William chuckled to himself. Old Smith had mentioned during their chat that Jessie, a beauty, was still single and had no record of accompanying guests. William didn't mind getting friendly with Jessie.
"Jessie, I'd like a bath. Please prepare it for me. Thanks," William said with a smile.
"Of course, Mr. Devonshire. Please wait a moment; I'll arrange it right away," Jessie said, blushing, as she left with two maids.
After the bath, William and Jessie, who didn't refuse, went to the gym. Surprisingly, Jessie, who seemed delicate, turned out to be a fitness enthusiast. They worked out in the private gym for almost two hours, returning to the suite drenched in sweat.
After lunch, William texted Barney and Christmas, who were still on their way, telling them to meet up with Brian and Church and prepare their gear for his call. After sending the message, he tossed his phone aside and fell asleep on the bed.
Having not slept since yesterday and this morning, William slept until midnight. When he woke up, Jessie, blushing, walked in with clothes. William stood still as Jessie helped him dress.
Leaving the presidential suite, he took Jessie to a French restaurant in Caesar's Palace for dinner. While eating, he opened the file Sam sent about Jessie.
No bad habits, had two boyfriends, never married, no kids, stable job at Caesar's Palace for five years, promoted to presidential suite butler last year, and owned a 140-square-meter apartment in Las Vegas. To William's surprise, Jessie's monthly salary was $30,000.
Almost done with dinner, William asked Jessie if she'd be willing to work for him at double her current salary, serving only him.
Jessie was surprised by the offer and shook her head, saying she needed time to think about it.
William didn't insist on Jessie becoming his personal butler. She wasn't desperate for a job or assets. Naturally, she needed to consider such a significant decision. However, Jessie's mood was lifted by the wealthy man's offer, and they chatted and laughed over the meal.
After dinner, William sent Jessie back and went to the reserved suite in a bar inside Caesar's Palace.
Entering the suite, he found Barney, Christmas, Brian, and Church drinking and playing cards.
