Birth Of The Crafts-God

Chapter 236: Visitors

During the same time that Luka, Callus and his teammate met with Havos, Lucas was in the shop going through a list of relics to visit to complete the new mission.

The mission didn't specify how many relics Lucas needed to explore, but it did emphasize that for the mission to be concluded, he had to master the magi runes. It wouldn't take an Einstein to figure out that the relics Lucas needed to explore were this pertaining to magi runes and the civilisation behind it. As such, Lucas began looking up for such relics. Find your adventure at My Virtual Library Empire

This would have been difficult since the hyumans didn't even know much about these ruins, but luckily, Lucas knew where Ronny had found the artefact. Using the location, he mapped out the surrounding relics around it and estimated that they would similarly be related to the same civilisation behind the magi runes.

At the same time, Lucas delved into history books to find more clues. Although hyumans couldn't identify or comprehend much about these runes, they still had some achievements in it. They were able to spot similarities between each inscription and categorise them to create a library of information.

The relics Ronny found the ring was called the East Braftford relics due to its location. According to the history books, the unknown civilisation behind it was termed the Sunil, although that wasn't their true name but merely a term used by hyumans to address them. As such, all relics related to them were called Sunil relics, and they were Lucas' target for exploration.

So far, there were two other Sunil relics close to the East Braftford relics. Compared to the latter, the two relics weren't as dangerous and have already been explored for the most part. As long as he was willing to pay a fee, Lucas could hire a pioneer to act as a guide or even purchase some of the discovery reports of other pioneers. However, he was urgently in need of money.

"Well, there's still one month and a few more weeks to go."

Lucas sighed as he turned his attention away from the stellar mainframe and walked towards Melissa.

As usual, the shop was devoid of customers but Lucas didn't think too much about it. This was because when compared to the week he had started out in Trundel City, life was better.

After Ronny and his crew came over, they would occasionally make a visit to his shop to have their vestiges fixed. Although the cost of services was cheap for the clients, which meant that Lucas made little from it, it was still something to get by with.

'Apart from going into the hover car business, I should also make some consumables that would sell well to freelancers.' Lucas thought.

Thanks to the system, Lucas found it difficult to gain customers to his shop which meant that his pockets would always be in the red. To go past this, he decided to create a new vestige that would sell well in the market. However, learning from past experiences, it wouldn't be something 'absurd', by this world's standards, and it would also have to be a consumable.

The reason behind the latter decision was to have customers frequent his shop consistently even after making a purchase.

Lucas got this idea from a conspiracy theory back on Earth that mega-pharmaceuticals didn't truly want to make a cure for certain terminal illnesses, but instead focused on reaping continuous benefits from patients. While the idea was heinous in the health industry, it was still recognised as a business tactic and could be applied in different avenues.

'It was pretty much similar to the phrase, 'don't kill the goose that lays the golden egg'.' The system commented.

Lucas didn't doubt that as that was in fact, what the concept implied.

What he lacked was a goose to lay him golden eggs, and that was why Lucas wanted to create a consumable type vestige. However, it was easier said than done. Consumable-type vestiges had already been created and many of them were immensely powerful and effective.

Hyuman civilization had existed for over three thousand years, and unlike humanity, hyumankin had a properly documented history of their past. As such, their technological advancements were far more impressive than what humanity had achieved in their era. Although a lot of similarities still existed between the two civilizations, the differences were immense.

Take for instance the space-bombs which seemed similar to grenades. However, unlike the creation of humanity, space-bombs could create and set-off miniature distinct black holes, which would tear a hole within space. These devices had immense power, but the calculations and intelligence used to create them was immaculate. Despite setting off a black hole, the design was made to only cause a tear in space and not space-time. To even be able to pull that off, one had to have an impressive knowledge of Quantum physics, astrophysics, and mathematics.

There were also simpler consumable-type vestiges which still possess an incredible amount of power. In summary, the 'Goose project' wasn't something Lucas could complete any time soon. However, it was still worth researching.

Just as he was stuck in his thoughts while supervising Melissa's training, the bell hung on the shop's door rang signifying visitors.

Lucas was a bit surprised by this but he still turned in the direction of the entrance to see who it was.

Three young men walked into the store and glanced around.

Of the three young men, one of them wore a white long sleeves shirt, with a black cardigan and black trousers. Not only was his fit stylish, but the brand was definitely not ordinary. Despite the distance, Lucas could discern that the quality of the clothing's material were all exquisite. They were all luxury goods that cost a lot, but still had a superb resale value. Although his attire weren't vestiges, they could still offer some form of protection to the wearer.

The second one had forest green hair with a tattoo of a jester on his left arm. He was dressed in a more casual style when compared to the previous young man. He wore a navy blue sweatshirt and grey trouser with a metallic dog-tag dangling on his neck. Although the clothes weren't as costly as the other young man, a close look at the accessory and one would realise that it was vestige. The abilities of the vestige was unknown, but it probably possessed defensive properties.

The young man had a nonchalant expression on his face that seemed uninterested in the store. It was almost as if he had walked in simply because the others had done so.

As for the last of them, he had brown hair and amber coloured eyes. Staring at him, Lucas found him to be familiar and was surprised to see the figure here.

Actually, Lucas knew who the other two were as well since it had been just a few days ago that he saw them.
