(Bl) Transmigration: Seducing and making Cinderella's prince mine

Chapter 7: Chapter 7 The stepmother True colors

Interrupted with the bad rumble in his stomach, Kayden groaned loudly. This was just too much. And realizing that the door leading to the courtyard and main entrance was locked, he frowned.

He wasn't going to die—not yet. Immediately, his mind went to the backyard. There had to be some kind of door that led into the interior without passing through the front yard.

So, still tiptoeing, he hurried off, running to the backyard. At that same moment, the carriage rider announced his presence to the household, prompting several hundred giggles from the girls.

Kayden could hear it loud and clear, their voices erupting like a force unleashed to punish sinners. Gosh, their voices were dreadful.

Looking around, he spotted something that resembled a door—and to his surprise, it was open. Like a thief, he slithered inside, and as if the gods were with him, he found himself in a kitchen.

"Praise God!"

Kayden exclaimed, and eyeing the table, he saw exactly what he wanted: freshly baked bread, arranged so appetizingly that he began to drool just by looking at it.

Yes, he deserved more than this, even bigger feasts, but what could he do? He had to manage with what he got. Like a ravenous beast, he grabbed the rows of bread and began stuffing them into his mouth.

He was packing and shoving, savoring the exquisite taste that made him tremble slightly.

"Wow, not bad. I guess Cindy isn't a bad cook."

And without thinking further, he gobbled down the remaining food, his cheeks swelling hugely. That's when he heard a tumbling sound that made him jump.

Turning around, he checked what was causing the noise—and saw two rats scurrying past, dragging bundles of fabric, stitches, and even jewelry.

"What the hell is that…?" Kayden's jaw hung in midair.

How was that possible—rats running around, not with food, but fabric and jewels?

Wait a minute. That sounded exactly like what the mice did for Cinderella.

"Let me guess—they're making a glamorous dress for the princess." Kayden mocked, rolling his eyes. Wanting to find out more, he decided to follow the mice.

The rodents kept running, rushing with their loads, and Kayden, who was observing them, couldn't help but giggle. This was the highest order of madness.

Who made mice—or rats—their best friends? He knew Cinderella was lonely, but it hadn't reached the level of talking to rodents.

That was insanity on the highest level.

Even so, the surprises weren't over yet. He soon spotted a cat chasing the mice furiously. Sighing, he blocked the cat and growled at it.

"Oh Jerry, or whatever your name is—I guess destroying your tail isn't enough, you brat." Kayden's voice dripped with threats, and the cat paused, shifting backward in fear.

Kayden knew he was going too far, but this animal needed to be taught a lesson. With a dangerous glint in his eyes, he lunged at the cat, which fled for its life.

Completely forgetting his plans and the need to remain hidden, he continued pursuing the cat with calculated strides.

Unfortunately for him, his luck ran out. He collided head-on with Maria, the stepmother. The crash was anything but gentle, and both of them tumbled together, landing instantly in the middle of the stepsisters' room—and as if God were against him, he found himself staring at the full nudity of the sisters.

They were in the middle of dressing, their breasts and asses on full display. Repulsed, Kayden immediately turned his face away in disgust, realization sinking in that he was in deep trouble.

He was doomed. What had he done?

Lydia and Chloe, who hadn't yet noticed the strange man, were giggling and laughing when they turned—and to their horror, saw a young man staring at their naked bodies. Not only that, but their mother was sprawled on the floor in a scandalous position with the stranger.

And that was it. The sisters let out a howling scream, and reality crashed into Kayden. He jumped up instantly, backing out of the room.

Mira felt humiliated, her hair disheveled and wild, not to mention the judgmental stares her daughters were giving her.

"Another man, seriously? Even when we're dressing? Don't you have a little bit of decency, Mom?" Lydia snapped.

Mira scowled. Chloe resumed dressing, but Lydia was unfazed, her tough attitude aimed straight at her mother. This was beyond ridiculous.

"Enough! I won't have you insult me, Lydia. Not only will you miss the ball, but you'll end up working as a servant in place of Cinderella!"

Instantly, that did the trick. Lydia shut up immediately.

They knew their mother too well, and her threats never went unfulfilled. Both remembered what fate had befallen their father when he dared raise his voice to her. If it came to it, Mira wouldn't hesitate to end them, too.

She wouldn't do that to her daughters… Lydia thought inwardly. But at this point, she didn't trust her instincts when it came to her mother anymore.

Mira shot an icy glare at the two, and they hurried to finish dressing.

"When I'm back, I want you both ready. We're late, and here you are gossiping. Try me tonight—and you'll see the other side of me." Like an enraged demon, she marched off to find Kayden.

Kayden had already bolted, but unfortunately, he was still new here and went the wrong way—straight into Mira's path. Mira paused, her face twitching, eyes scanning the unknown figure.

Instantly, Kayden held his breath, feeling intimidated. The woman standing before him wasn't just imposing—her vicious eyeliner, stoic and cold look, and long flowing black corset made her look exactly like those villains in the movies. And the murderous glare she sent his way? He was certain he'd be dead tonight.

"Who are you, stranger? And why are you in my home?" Mira scowled.

Kayden stammered, backing away slowly, hands gripping the wall for support.

"N-No…I'm just the stable boy," he blurted out—then immediately realized his mistake. They didn't have a stable boy. And based on what Cinderella had told him not long ago, no one knew who he was. Not only had he lied, but now Mira probably saw him as a threat.

Mira let out a dark grin that stretched across her horrifying face.

"Well—a stable boy, is it? Don't lie, boy. Are you perhaps Cinderella's lover? I wouldn't be surprised if she's whoring around, just like her mother. Well—who am I to separate what God has joined together? Thank God she finally knew her place."

Mira's vile words made Kayden frown.

What a despicable woman. This wasn't the fairytale version he'd heard of. This one was pure evil. At this point, he was furious on Cinderella's behalf. He might be a bit of a bitch himself—but insulting someone's dead mother? That was going too far.

"Mom, we're ready," Lydia's voice cut through the tension as thick as fog. Chloe's nervous voice followed from behind.

"Me too, Mom." Chloe fidgeted. Mira seized the chance to inspect them and finally smiled, pleased with what she saw.

"You both look stunning. Tonight, one of you must charm the prince. And if you both fail—I'll disown the two of you. Understand?"

Her venomous words made everyone in the room shudder.

Kayden was shocked at her coldness. Disown her daughters over a man? Who did that? What about Cinderella—she was still in danger. And why hadn't anyone made a move yet? What was happening?

And to make matters worse, an angelic voice cut through the conversation.

"Wait for me, Mother. I'm here—let's go."

Cinderella stepped down the stairs, and the four of them froze, holding their breath at what they saw.

Cinderella was dressed in a yellow ball gown, a corset crafted from silk and satin bows. Intricate gold lines formed a circle at the center and edges, making it glamorous enough to put the sisters' dresses to shame.

Kayden's jaw dropped once again. At this point, he was sure he was going to permanently lose his jaw.

And from the look in the three women's eyes, Cindy was definitely going to lose her head tonight. The anger, rage, and hatred radiating from them were practically smoking. Kayden knew he should probably intervene before it was too late.

"Stop!" A cold, steel-like voice reverberated through the hall where the five of them stood.

Mira, owner of the voice, kept staring at Cinderella. Her pony-styled hair was braided so perfectly, not to mention the delicate crown placed upon her head, making her look even more regal.

"You thief—where are you going with those fabrics?" Mira spat.

"It seems you learned many bad manners from your whore of a mother. Didn't she teach you not to take what doesn't belong to you? I'm talking to you, you little cunt."

And like a mad beast, she lunged forward and yanked Cindy's hair furiously.

Kayden stood frozen. He was confused about what to do to save Cinderella, because this was spiraling out of control. If his plan failed, Cinderella might never go to the ball—or even meet the fairy godmother.

Cinderella, meanwhile, was crying, her scalp throbbing in pain. Her eyes locked onto Kayden's, silently begging him to intervene. That was when Mira slapped her across the face.

The room grew so tense and quiet that even a pin dropping might have sounded like thunder.

Having had enough, Kayden lunged forward, dragging Cinderella away from Mira—and before everyone's eyes, he slapped Mira so hard that she fell to the floor with a whooping smack.

"Don't you dare touch her again, you mindless fool. You witch! How are we even sure you didn't kill your husband out of greed? Just wait and see how I expose you to the kingdom and the royals."

That was enough to drain all color from Mira's face. Instantly, she looked at her daughters, who turned away to face the ground.

Standing up shakily, Mira grabbed the two girls and stormed toward the door, dragging them behind her. She marched out to the waiting carriage in a furious hurry.

"Let's go, girls. And Cinderella—this isn't the end." She whispered the words with venom as the carriage rider whipped the horses and drove off at speed.
