Bleach: Soul Society Domination Through Check-ins

Chapter 89: Bleach: Soul Society-089 Aizen's Move!

Time flowed like water.

Nearly a month had elapsed since Shigure obtained his permanent Acting Captain authority.

Soul Society wasn't perpetually beset by calamities, and Shigure's system had maintained prolonged silence.

Throughout these days, Shigure continued fulfilling his duties as Lieutenant of the Thirteenth Division.

Undeniably, since completing the Hollow extermination mission in the Valley of Screams, Shigure's reputation within the Thirteenth Division had skyrocketed to unprecedented heights—and showed no signs of diminishing.

This stemmed not merely from his annihilation of the rioting Hollow swarm, but more significantly, from his solitary venture into the white mist to rescue Captain Sui-Feng of the Second Division from mortal peril.

Initially, these accounts circulated as straightforward retellings.

Subsequently, however, they had evolved into dramatically embellished legends.

"Four-two-three"

"Lieutenant Segawa! Good morning!" a diminutive female Soul Reaper called out enthusiastically, her cheeks flushed crimson.

"Good morning." Shigure glanced over, offering a cordial smile.

Recently, countless unfamiliar division members would excitedly bow and greet him with boisterous enthusiasm upon encountering Shigure.

Naturally, Shigure paid such trivial matters little heed.

His thoughts, however, had been consumed by one particular concern for considerable time.

The "disappearance" of Rukia Kuchiki.

By his calculations, substantial time had passed since news of Rukia's vanishing first surfaced.

During this extended period, even numerous Thirteenth Division members had essentially abandoned their search efforts.

Yet as time progressed, Shigure increasingly sensed an approaching tempest.

That evening.

Within the Twelfth Division's Department of Research and Development.

Beneath the spiritual pressure detection apparatus, several Soul Reapers worked diligently processing documentation.

Suddenly, however, one section in the instrument's upper-right quadrant shifted from white to crimson!

Instantaneously, the alarm system beneath the equipment erupted into wailing sirens.

"Whirrrr—"

Every personnel member simultaneously lifted their heads, gazing over with puzzled expressions.

Upon clearly perceiving the situation, their faces transformed instantaneously from bewilderment to absolute horror.

Subsequently, attracted by the alarms, additional Development Department members began converging.

Among them stood Akon, Third Seat of the Twelfth Division and Deputy Director of the Development Department. Upon clearly observing the displayed readings, his pupils contracted sharply.

"How... could this be possible?!"

"Why would a Gillian manifest in the World of the Living?!"

White on this apparatus signified normal spiritual pressure readings, gray indicated Hollow manifestations, but... red represented Menos Grande!

"This location is..."

Akon forcefully displaced the stunned personnel beside him, rapidly manipulating the instrument's controls.

Moments later, he ceased his operations.

"Karakura Town... such a metropolitan center, yet..."

However, before he could complete his statement, an utterly unprecedented situation unfolded.

The crimson display... abruptly reverted to white!

?!

Akon's breathing ceased entirely; he momentarily suspected instrument malfunction.

When Menos Grande-class catastrophes materialized in the World of the Living, captain-level intervention was typically absolutely essential for resolution!

Yet now, the apparatus clearly indicated the Gillian's complete disappearance!

"What's transpiring..."

Akon furrowed his brow intensely, fixing his gaze upon the instrument.

He immediately commanded a nearby subordinate: "Immediately notify all divisions regarding this development—determine whether any captain or lieutenant has departed for the World of the Living."

The subordinate nodded promptly: "Yes! Deputy Director!"

Following this exchange, they departed immediately.

...

Shortly thereafter, at the Thirteenth Division barracks, when Development Department personnel arrived to relay this intelligence, Shigure froze instantaneously.

A Gillian manifesting in Karakura Town within the World of the Living?

Subsequently eliminated?

This wasn't...

This was unmistakably the handiwork of Ichigo Kurosaki and Uryu Ishida!

Uryu Ishida, seeking to challenge Ichigo Kurosaki, had employed Hollow bait to lure massive numbers of Hollows to Karakura Town.

He had declared that whoever eliminated more Hollows within twenty-four hours would claim victory...

They never anticipated this would inexplicably attract a Gillian Menos Grande...

Contemplating this revelation, Shigure's heart surged with tumultuous emotions.

It appeared... this long-awaited moment was finally approaching!

...

Deep within the night, inside the Fifth Division barracks of Seireitei.

Fifth Division Captain Sosuke Aizen sat serenely upon a traditional cushion, his expression tranquil as he practiced calligraphy.

At that precise moment, the chamber door opened autonomously before closing with equal swiftness.

Immediately thereafter, a black-robed figure materialized from apparent nothingness.

Beneath the obsidian hood, purple braided hair, white protective eyewear, and unmistakably distinctive dark skin became visible.

Aizen, however, displayed no reaction whatsoever, continuing his brushwork with unwavering serenity.

Simultaneously, his imperceptible spiritual pressure emanated outward, instantaneously shrouding the entire chamber.

Without acknowledging his visitor's presence, he spoke with characteristic composure: "You've returned, Tosen."

This individual was indeed Kaname Tosen, current Captain of the Ninth Division.

Upon hearing Aizen's words, he immediately genuflected respectfully: "Aizen-sama, everything transpired precisely as you anticipated."

Aizen set down his brush upon hearing this confirmation, finally turning to face his subordinate with a knowing smile:

"Indeed... exactly as expected."

With these words, Aizen rose with deliberate grace.

"Since confirmation has been obtained, Tosen, you may withdraw."

Kaname Tosen demonstrated no hesitation, immediately bowing deeply: "Yes, Aizen-sama."

Following this acknowledgment, his form became invisible once more before departing through the door.

Aizen retracted the spiritual pressure enveloping the chamber, gesturing lightly as he donned a translucent garment.

"With this development, the time has arrived to commence our plan."

"Allow me to borrow your ingenious creation once more... Kisuke Urahara."

Aizen smiled with subtle malevolence, reaching behind his shoulder as the Spirit Concealment Cloak's effect activated.

Beneath the moonlight, both his spiritual pressure and physical form vanished completely.
