Bleach: The Unique Time Zanpakutō

Chapter 30: BUTZ: Chapter 30

Someone had started, and others couldn't hold back. Pieces of wood, chairs, tables from the barracks—anything that could inflict damage—were used by the Shinigami to unleash their pent-up rage upon Kurashima Daiki. Kyōraku Callum was genuinely worried they might kill him.

Fortunately, while the 4th Division members weren't skilled fighters, their Kidō skills were quite proficient. Thus began Kurashima Daiki's true nightmare: half an hour of beating, followed by half an hour of healing, then more beating—a vicious cycle.

Kyōraku Callum stroked his chin, thoughtfully observing. "These members are quite adept at Kidō," he mused. "If they could integrate Kidō into combat, they'd become a formidable fighting force."

He envisioned 4th Division members charging their enemies, exchanging blows and lives, then using Kidō to heal themselves before continuing the fight.

"Seems like there's a lot of potential here," he muttered, eyes gleaming.

After three hours, the beating finally stopped. The Shinigami were all grinning with satisfaction, revealing the true nature of their former vice-captain: a bully who abused his noble status to torment the weak.

Kyōraku Callum glanced disdainfully at the nearly unrecognizable Kurashima Daiki on the ground. "You disgrace the nobility!" he said coldly. "Get a few people to carry this thing to the medical facility. Even if he dies, let it not be in the barracks—it's bad luck."

The members, completely convinced of Kyōraku Callum's abilities, readily obeyed.

Time flew by. After the barracks were cleaned, night fell. Kyōraku Callum inquired about the location of the 4th Division's Training Ground One and left the 6th Squad barracks. His gaze was deep, fixed on the rising moon.

Retsu Unohana, I'm coming!

The 4th Division occupied a vast, secluded area. While most members weren't skilled fighters, they still had training grounds. As night fell, lights illuminated the barracks. Fewer members were around, but those present were still busy; rest seemed a luxury for them.

Training Ground One. Upon arrival, Kyōraku Callum found it wasn't a typical dojo. It was a forest. The nighttime forest held a serene beauty, though the occasional roar of wild animals disrupted the tranquility.

Kyōraku Callum walked along a forest path, heading deeper into the woods. Towering trees surrounded a large open space where Retsu Unohana waited patiently. Moonlight bathed her, and her gentle smile harmonized with the night.

"Welcome to the 4th Division's Training Ground One," she said. "Let's see this swordsmanship of yours."

Retsu Unohana seemed impatient, not giving Kyōraku Callum a chance for pleasantries. The moment she finished speaking, her demeanor underwent a dramatic shift—from gentle to fierce, a murderous aura radiating from her. Her haori fluttered in the nonexistent wind, her braided hair seemingly loosening itself. Her expression remained unchanged, yet the effect was chilling. Though she hadn't released her spiritual pressure, the oppressive atmosphere was immense.

Kyōraku Callum frowned, then relaxed. "Mugen Kenpō, please instruct me, Captain."

Retsu Unohana, fully engaged in combat, seemed to ignore the change in his address—or perhaps she noticed and disregarded it. Her focus was solely on the fight.

The moment she spoke, she vanished. A wave of intense killing intent instantly pressed upon him.

Kyōraku Callum's heart pounded. He drew his Zanpakutō, pointing it at the empty space.

The sharp clang of steel echoed across the training ground as their Zanpakutō met, forming a cross. Retsu Unohana's beautiful face was inches from his, their breaths mingling. But Kyōraku Callum couldn't appreciate the scene; his attention was entirely on her.

As the former first Kenpachi, her swordsmanship was unparalleled. Unlike Kenpachi Zaraki's brutal style, Retsu Unohana's was an art—the art of the sword!

Clang! Kyōraku Callum deflected her blade, forcing her to momentarily shift her position.

Secret Sword: Thin Snow!

His Zanpakutō unleashed countless sword beams, like a blizzard engulfing the training ground.

Retsu Unohana's emotionless eyes flickered with interest.

"An unprecedented style. Does it have a name?"

Kyōraku Callum smiled. "Sword Drawing Technique, born from Iaidō!"

Sword Way: Moonlight!

Retsu Unohana swung her sword, creating a crescent arc of pale white light that hung suspended in the air, creating two moons in the night sky.

The snow melted, the sword intents canceling each other out. In the cold moonlight, the blizzard vanished.

Kyōraku Callum used Shunpo to close the distance, his Zanpakutō aimed at the moon-shaped light.

God's Dream One-Sword Style: Dream's Lingering Light!

This ultimate technique, combined with his swift movements, unleashed an unstoppable attack. He expected it to trouble Retsu Unohana, but she countered with even greater speed, deflecting his strikes.

"Swordsmanship without intent is no different from mere slashing," Retsu Unohana said, her Zanpakutō held before her, a faint glow emanating from around her.

Kyōraku Callum sheathed his Zanpakutō.

"Then I only have one move left."

He crouched low, his gaze intense, his left hand on his scabbard, his right gripping the hilt.

Sword Way: Swallow Return!

He raised his arm, unleashing a torrent of sword energy that engulfed the entire training ground. The moons in the sky were cleaved in two.
