Chapter 7: The Mysterious Relic Part 1
First off I just want to say thanks to all those who are reading this, you guys are awesome, now on to the story, let's see how the relationship between Luna and Kazuma unfolds :D
Kazuma and his squad settled into their usual corner of the Guild, mugs of ale and plates of food spread out before them. Luna, having just finished her shift, joined them with a warm smile. The atmosphere was lively, filled with the clinking of mugs and the hum of conversations.
Aqua leaned back in her chair, a mischievous glint in her eye as she looked at Kazuma and Luna. "I have to say, Kazuma, I've never seen you this happy before. Luna, you've learned how to tame him!"
Kazuma sputtered into his drink, his cheeks turning pink. "What are you talking about, Aqua?"
Luna blushed as well but managed a shy smile. "I just... try to make him feel appreciated."
Darkness, taking a sip from her mug, chuckled. "Tame him, huh? Aqua, are you implying that Kazuma is some sort of wild beast?"
Aqua giggled, clearly enjoying the effect her words were having. "Well, you know how he can be! Lazy, and grumpy... but Luna seems to have found a way to bring out the best in him. Or maybe she's just really good at handling... his needs."
Kazuma's face turned a deeper shade of red. "Aqua!"
Luna, equally flustered, tried to hide her face behind her mug. "It's not like that!"
Megumin leaned forward, her curiosity piqued. "What kind of needs are we talking about here?"
Aqua's grin widened as she leaned closer, lowering her voice conspiratorially. "Oh, you know. The kind of needs that leave you both breathless and satisfied. I'd say Luna's got him whipped in more ways than one, he can't resist her body, controlling his mind is probably easy for her." She shrugged and began to drink.
Darkness choked on her drink, coughing as she tried to suppress her array of emotions.
Luna, her face burning, glanced at Kazuma. "I-I think Aqua's had too much to drink."
Kazuma nodded vigorously, eager to change the subject. "Definitely. Aqua, maybe you should slow down a bit."
Aqua, still giggling, waved her hand dismissively. "Oh, come on! We're all friends here. Just having a bit of fun."
Darkness, recovering from her emotions, leaned over to Kazuma. "But seriously, Kazuma, you do seem happier these days. It's nice to see."
Kazuma looked up, his embarrassment fading into a soft smile. "Yeah, I guess I am. Thanks to Luna."
Luna's blush deepened, but she smiled back, feeling a warm glow at his words. "I'm happy too."
The conversation gradually shifted to lighter topics, the group enjoying their drinks and each other's company. As the evening wore on, Kazuma and Luna found themselves sitting closer, sharing quiet moments amidst the laughter and banter of their friends.
When the night grew late and the Guild began to empty, Kazuma stood up, stretching. "Alright, guys, I think it's time to call it a night."
As they all rose to leave, Aqua nudged Kazuma with a sly grin. "Don't do anything I wouldn't do, Kazuma!"
Kazuma rolled his eyes and flicked her nose, his cheeks still slightly pink. "Goodnight, Aqua."
She winced but rolled her eyes, The group parted ways, with Kazuma and Luna heading back to their new home. The night air was cool and refreshing, and they walked in comfortable silence for a while with Kazuma holding her hand, Luna smiled and kissed him while they were going back home.
Kazuma and Luna were in their cozy kitchen, the morning light filtering through the windows and casting a warm glow on the wooden countertops. Luna was at the stove, flipping pancakes, while Kazuma stood behind her, gently massaging her shoulders.
"You're so tense Luna," Kazuma noted, his hands skillfully working her muscles. "You've been working too hard at the Guild lately."
Luna blushed slightly under his touch, a soft smile playing on her lips. "It's not all work, you know."
Kazuma leaned in close, his breath tickling her ear. "Maybe we should add a little more excitement to our mornings," he whispered playfully, kissing her cheek gently.
She bit her lip, "You really know how to push my buttons."She smiled gently, Kazuma nodded and wrapped his arms around her curvy waist.
"Just wait and see. But first, let's enjoy breakfast together," Kazuma replied with a wink.
Together, they set the table and sat down to a hearty breakfast of pancakes and fresh fruit.
"Say ahhh," Kazuma stated, twirling the strawberry that was pinched on the fork towards her mouth.
Luna blushed and ate the strawberry, she loved it when he fed her like that.
"What did I do in my life to deserve such a man like you." Luna looked down as she ate, bashful but laughing with pink cheeks. He kissed her as they continued eating.
"Just being you is what makes me happy." Kazuma cupped her cheek, her eyes sparkled as she kissed the side of his hand.
After they finished eating and cleaned up, Kazuma grabbed Luna's hand, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "Let's go outside; I want to show you something."
Curious, Luna followed him out to the small clearing near their home where it hadn't been used yet, but Luna was planning on doing some gardening. "What are you up to, Kazuma?"
"Just watch," Kazuma said, concentrating as he began to gather magical energy. He intended to impress her with a new spell he had been secretly practicing.
As he focused, his foot accidentally kicked against something half-buried in the ground. Surprised, he looked down to see a corner of something hard and stone-like protruding from the surface. "What's this?" he muttered, bending down to investigate.
Together, they cleared the dirt, revealing an intricately carved stone tablet, covered in strange symbols and faintly glowing runes. The sight of it made them both gasp in astonishment.
"Kazuma, this looks ancient," Luna said, her curiosity piqued. "It could be something important."
Kazuma nodded, equally intrigued. "It must have been buried here for ages. We should take it to the Guild. Aqua, Megumin, and Darkness might know more about it."
Luna looked at him, "Wow, he actually wanted to include them also, he's really changed." Luna thought, impressed.
They carefully extracted the relic from the ground. The mysterious symbols seemed to shimmer slightly under Kazuma's touch, hinting at hidden powers within.
"I can't believe we found this right here," Luna marveled, her gaze fixed on the relic as they walked back to their home to prepare for the trip to the Guild.
Kazuma, feeling cocky about what they found, slipped an arm around her shoulders. "It's going to be another adventure."
Kazuma and Luna entered the bustling Guild, the ancient relic carefully wrapped in cloth and carried between them. The chatter and clatter of the adventurers filled the air.
As they approached their usual table, they spotted Aqua, Megumin, and Darkness deep in discussion. The trio seemed engrossed in a map spread out before them, pointing and debating with animated gestures.
Aqua was the first to notice Kazuma and Luna approaching. Her eyes lit up, and she waved enthusiastically. "Kazuma, wow, small world! We were just about to head over to your place to ask you to join us on a quest." She smiled brightly, her eyes darting to the bundle in their hands. "What's that you've got there?"
Kazuma set the relic down on the table with a gentle thud, unwrapping it to reveal the intricately carved stone tablet. "We found this buried near our house," he explained. "It's covered in runes and seems ancient. Thought it might be something up your alley, especially for Megumin."
Megumin leaned forward, her eyes wide with fascination as she examined the glowing runes. "Incredible... These symbols are similar to archaic spellcasting formulas!" she exclaimed, her voice tinged with excitement.
Darkness peered over Megumin's shoulder, her interest piqued. "A relic of this nature could be cursed or hold a great power. Either way, it's an artifact worth investigating."
Aqua, still smiling, clapped her hands together. "This is perfect timing! We were just planning a quest to explore the Caverns of Echoes. It's said to be filled with enchanted artifacts and ancient runes. Maybe this tablet has a connection!"
"This could help in our exploration of the Caverns of Echoes," Darkness suggested, her voice filled with anticipation.
Luna, still standing slightly apart, nodded and smiled, clearly excited by the conversation but hesitant. "It sounds like an amazing adventure. I'm sure you'll all do great," she said, her tone betraying a hint of wistfulness.
Kazuma turned to her, noting the mixed emotions on her face. He took a step closer, gently taking her hands in his. "Luna, why don't you come with us? It's not just about needing your help—which we do—but I want you there with us."
Luna blushed, caught off guard by his directness. "Oh, but I'm just a receptionist... I like helping from here, and it's safe..."
Kazuma gave her a pleading look, his eyes earnest. "I promise I'll protect you. Nothing will happen to you as long as I'm there." Kazuma did his best to sound as serious as possible, holding her hands firmly.
Seeing his sincere eyes, Luna's resistance melted. "Okay... yes, I'll come with you," she finally agreed, her voice soft but excited.
Aqua burst into laughter, clapping her hands delightedly. "Look at Kazuma, the lover boy, trying to get into his girl's pants! He's so whipped." She then a whipping noise while making the hand gestures, laughing at Kazuma, she found this really adorable on how he was always laying the moves on her.
"Who knows what you guys do when we're not looking, the nights in bed must be wild for you guys!" She stuck her tongue out.
Kazuma, half-annoyed and half-embarrassed, flicked Aqua's nose lightly. "Shut up, Aqua."
The banter was light-hearted, and soon enough, the group's attention turned back to the plans at hand. With the decision made, they moved to formalize Luna's new role in the team.
Later that day, Luna stood in front of the Guildmaster, just as Kazuma had on his first day as an adventurer. The Guildmaster, a grizzled man with a keen eye for potential, eyed her curiously.
"So, you're joining these troublemakers, eh?" he asked, his voice gruff but not unkind.
"Yes, I've decided to take on new challenges," Luna replied, her voice stronger now, her earlier shyness replaced by a new-found resolve.
"Well then," the Guildmaster began, pulling out a small badge—the official insignia of a Guild adventurer. "Welcome to the fold, Luna. May your journeys be fruitful and your battles victorious."
He pinned the badge onto her shirt, and the room erupted in cheers from her new teammates. Kazuma beamed proudly at her, Aqua and Megumin clapped loudly, and even Darkness offered a solemn nod of approval.
Kazuma's eyes sparkled with pride and affection as he watched her officially become part of their adventurous fold.
Without hesitation, he stepped forward, his expression bright with joy. Wrapping his arms around Luna, he pulled her into a warm, celebratory hug. "I'm so happy you finally joined our party," he said, his voice filled with genuine happiness. He then kissed her softly.
Luna embraced Kazuma tightly, overwhelmed by the cheers of their friends and her own swirling emotions. "Thank you, Kazuma," she whispered into his ear, her voice thick with gratitude. "For everything—your encouragement, your protection, and for believing in me. I wouldn't have had the courage to do this without you."
The embrace lingered for a moment, a quiet island amid their friends' ongoing celebration. Aqua, Megumin, and Darkness watched with smiles, sharing in the happiness of their friends.
Aqua playfully shouted over the noise, "Now let's see some real teamwork out there, you two!" which drew a laugh from everyone in the room.
Kazuma turned his attention back to the mysterious stone tablet they had found earlier. The intricate carvings and faintly glowing runes seemed to promise hidden secrets and untold adventures. Holding it up for the team to see, Kazuma's face lit up with the thrill of their next quest.
"Alright guys," he said with determined enthusiasm, "let's do this."
You guys didn't think Luna would be in the guild while Kazuma would be out there without her support, would you?
That would have been lame, so I included her in it, whats in that tablet that they found?
Only I know the answer, haha.
Stay tuned, once again thanks for reading, please review.
