Blue lock: Reborn Egoist

Chapter 2: Chapter 2: The First Step

Time was a strange thing.

Days turned into weeks, weeks into months, and before Eito fully grasped it, a year had passed since his rebirth. His body remained small and fragile, every movement requiring an exhausting effort, but his mind was sharp, and calculating, always plotting the next step toward his goal. The world around him was a place of constant observation, a battleground where he could not afford to be weak.

The [Egoist System] had been ever-present, a silent observer tracking his growth. The stats had changed little, but the first quest remained, a constant reminder of the barrier he had to break.

━━━ [Quest: First Step to Ego] ━━━

Learn to walk. (Reward: +5 Unassigned Points)

To anyone else, it was an ordinary milestone. But to Eito, it was something far more significant. It represented the first real test—the first step—toward surpassing the world. It was not just about learning to walk; it was about breaking free from his infant form and moving toward the potential that awaited him.

He had prepared for this moment. The past year has been a constant learning experience. His mother, Ximena, had become his anchor. He observed her every movement, her grace, the way her body moved fluidly, a subtle reminder of her own athletic past. She had always been gentle with him, nurturing, but Eito could sense a strength in her, one that reminded him of his own resolve, his own burning desire to become more.

Then there was his father, Ego Jinpachi—the architect of Blue Lock, the one who believed that only potential mattered, who pushed others to the limit of their ability. Eito had learned to analyze him as well, even from this young age. Ego was distant, always watching, always waiting. But Eito knew—without a doubt—that his father's expectations were the foundation upon which his own ambitions would be built.

Now, in the quiet of their home, Eito sat on the floor, his tiny hands pressing down on the cool surface beneath him. His legs trembled, muscles unused to bearing his weight. Every attempt to lift himself felt like an impossible task, but his mind burned with resolve. He could not afford to fail.

I refuse to be weak.

Ximena sat nearby, her eyes trained on him as he struggled. Her voice was soft, but there was a teasing warmth to it as she watched him. "Are you trying to stand, mi amor?" she asked, her tone light but full of affection.

Eito did not respond. Instead, he pressed his hands down harder, pushing against the floor with all his might. His legs quivered under the strain, threatening to collapse. His vision blurred as he fought to maintain balance, the weight of his own body almost overwhelming.

Then, with all the determination he could muster, he lifted his right foot.

It wasn't much. Just a small, unsteady step. But it was a step nonetheless.

His body swayed, and for a moment, he felt the uncertainty of gravity pulling him down. His hands gripped the floor tighter, forcing himself to hold on. Then, he moved his left foot.

The second step. The third.

For a brief moment, the world seemed to slow down. His body, fragile and small, held itself upright. He felt in control. Stability. It wasn't perfect, but it was enough.

Then, like a wave crashing down, gravity reclaimed its hold. Eito stumbled, his tiny legs buckling under the pressure, and he collapsed onto the padded floor with a soft thud. Silence filled the room.

Then, Ximena's voice cut through the quiet. A chuckle, full of pride and amusement. "Not bad," she said, her smile evident even as she spoke. "You're a stubborn one, just like your father."

Reward: +5 Unassigned Points

The system's notification flared in his mind, but Eito barely noticed it. His breathing was heavy, not from exhaustion, but from the rush of the moment. He had done it. He had taken his first steps.

Ximena, always graceful, scooped him up effortlessly and held him close. She kissed his forehead, her touch gentle but filled with pride. "You really are your father's son."

Eito barely heard her. His mind was already on the next challenge.

The excitement of walking had barely passed before the next quest appeared in his thoughts.

Instincts of a Striker – Kick a ball for the first time (Reward: +5 Unassigned Points)

Eito's tiny fingers clenched into a fist. The challenge had shifted, and he could already feel the pull of it. He had made it through the first hurdle, but now the path was becoming clearer.

He was a step closer.

The game had begun.
