Chapter 26: chapter 26
"Shadows of the Change"
Some gods fall, others are reborn colder than ice.
Second Half – PXG vs Roma
Score: 1 – 1
The whistle blows.
Tension uncoils like a whip across the pitch.
Both teams return to the field—not as players, but as armies. The second half is no longer a match.
It's a philosophy war.
46:00 – PXG's Aggression Rises
PXG storms forward immediately.
Julian Loki is everywhere—left wing, right, central channel. His pace seems endless, his confidence a shield of gold. 150km stepovers blur into roulettes. Flicks into elastico cuts. He's playing like a man trying to outrun gravity itself.
Roma tries to contain him—but they can't double-mark him without leaving space elsewhere, and he bursts forward, sprinting at high speed like a jet and can't be stopped.
And Aloe knows.
Loki cuts inside, dragging two defenders, then flicks the ball backward—no look.
A forward appears like a shadow—shoots.
Saved!
Barely. The Roma keeper's gloves shake from the force.
53:00 – Roma's Counterspell
Aloe Dybala slows the game down like he's pressing pause on reality.
He walks with the ball. Literally. Just walking. Daring PXG to lunge. Then his mind flashes back and the vision of the future gone—he used Future-Sight and a new combined vision and flow type ability—and he moved left, cut with the ball, swister, then lifted the ball, 360 degrees spin, rainbow flick up, and then nutmeg passed a midfielder. And before Loki, speeding through, he moves past Dybala—but he looks down, and Dybala drag-backed the ball—and they face each other.
Then the air shifts, and Loki's eyes glow with such force like space itself is shifting.
Then Godwarp Flow activated. He steps—and Dybala's eyes glow, like all of time flashes in his irises—Future-Sight Flow activated. He moves ahead and Loki misses the steal and turns back at 300kmh, and Dybala elastico nutmegs the ball through Loki, then 360 degrees twists around him and drags back the ball, then passes it to a winger.
Loki turns back—and boom—steps with his body at 180-degree rotation and at 280...290...300kmh...320kmh, then jumps mid-air. He reached the ball and lands, then looks at Dybala, and Loki says, "You can see the future to read me, but I bend space enough so even time can't bind me with fate."
Boom—150kmh...190...230kmh...270kmh. He step-over flicks up, kicks forward, and boom—300kmh—traps the ball with his chest.
Boom—320kmh, and space shifts and everyone else is slowed by gravity and space, but for Loki, space and gravity leave him free. And he moves at crazy swiftness from the PXG third half of the field—in 7 seconds reaches halfway the field, and in 7 seconds he reaches the defense line of Roma.
And with such speed, with no one to stop him, he cuts through. Each change of direction, speed lowers but still fast enough—310kmh change left, 300kmh change right, 285kmh boom—kinetic shot from 21 yards of the goal in the box, and the speed of the ball at 335kmh—and the goalkeeper not even able to react to the speed of the ball.
The crowd screams, and the commentator speaks on how the duel of Loki and Dybala and how he was able to resist Loki from stealing the ball from him. But when he passed, Loki used his speed to take the pass and counterattack without anyone able to stop him.
Loki smiles at the camera and does his pose—both hands by his armpits and crossed over his chest—at the corner line by the camera and crowd.
1:2
68:00
Aloe Dybala with the ball.
He sends a pass—seemingly harmless. But it hits the perfect seam between three lines.
His winger catches it in stride. Cross.
Roma striker rises.
Header.
GOAL.
2:2 Roma
Commentator:
"Dybala passes the ball—he time-travels with it. He makes it feel like every other player's reaction is too late… before they even move."
Reaction – Bayern Player Lounge
I watch, tense.
The contrast couldn't be clearer.
Loki burns the world. Dybala rewrites its rules.
Two different kinds of fire.
One devours. One endures.
Ness: "This is the highest level of U-20 football… and still, I can't look away from what's missing."
I glance at him. "Missing?"
He nods. "The player who made Loki like this. The one who pushed Sae into silence. The one who made us all rethink what talent means."
Bunny.
68:00 – Roma's Answer
Aloe Dybala isn't done.
He changes his rhythm—slowly, for the first time. He no longer team-plays blindly. He waits.
Then…
BOOM.
He slices through three defenders with nothing but body feints. Nutmegs. Too flashy. Just pure tempo control and skill with reverse elastico and behind flip-flap cut.
Inside the box. Shot. Before his body is even in position, he shot—and it looks like an accident, but—
GOAL.
3:2
Final 15 Minutes Left
Dybala tries one more masterstroke—a delayed through-ball designed for a winger making a blindside run. It works.
The winger arrives.
He shoots.
Boom.
Loki, with eyes shaking and the pressure around him too strong—then boom—left foot lands and touches the ground at 170kmh. Moves left and right like a jet with wind-blood behind him, and midfielders not available to move to stop him… 250… and with full focus, looks at the clock tick down… 310kmh—and reaches the other side of the field.
No flashy skills. Just cuts and direction changes.
Passed 1# defender—left back, then center back—with open spaces and uses all his speed with timing and boom, while ignoring the center back in front of him—ball at 360kmh—
Goallll.
Final whistle blows.
Final score: 3 – 3
No winner.
But no one feels disappointed.
They just feel… challenged.
Post-Match Commentary
"There you have it! A game for the ages. Julian Loki, the God of Velocity. Aloe Dybala, the Oracle of Time. But as breathtaking as this was, one question now echoes across the youth football world—"
"What is the New Gen 11 ranking now?"
Scene Shift – Bayern Dorm Room, 22:00
The screen goes black.
I sit back, body heavy with adrenaline and questions.
That match was perfect. It had everything.
Except now more questions.
Buzz – Global Youth League Draw Incoming
A red banner scrolls across my laptop:
"U-20 World Elite Exhibition Match Draw: Next Opponent Revealed"
I click it. A list scrolls. My eyes dart across the screen.
Bayern U-18 vs Real Madrid U-18 – 3 Days from Now
I freeze.
Not because of the team.
But because of the captain.
A name burned in ice:
Itoshi Sae.
Shocking Update – Luna Called to Main Squad of Real Madrid
Beneath the headline is another bombshell.
Leonardo Luna has been promoted to the Senior Team. In his place, Sae Itoshi is no longer a forward— he will now lead Real Madrid's U-18 squad as a midfielder and Captain.
Profile Update – Sae Itoshi
I click his name.
His image loads slowly. Hair sharp and pink. Blue eyes dim with lower lashes. Shoulders rigid. Face pale.
But not like before.
There's no joy left in his expression.
No arrogance. No striker's ego. No ambition to score.
Just… vacancy.
But now, an ego to assist. To playmake.
A field of frost where fire once burned.
Flashback – Bunny vs Sae (Replayed)
I watch again.
The mid-air flick. The impossible feints. The 7ft stall. Then using Sae's back as leverage to stay long in mid-air or to steal the ball. And the disrespect. The bow.
And the heel passes that lead to the final goal.
Bunny didn't just beat Sae.
He erased his identity.
Outclassed him as a striker and crushed his dreams.
Bunny's words rang in my memory:
"I wanted to make you know the feeling of wanting to die even when you're happy…" "To beg for escape from joy."
Those words weren't just cruel.
They were surgery.
And now, Sae walks the field like a man taking the identities of others.
Internal Monologue
He used to play like a blade.
Now he plays like a mirror that reflects all your flaws when you play against him now.
Perfect. Cold. Inescapable.
He won't shoot. He won't taunt. He'll just end you from 40 yards away—with a pass you didn't know was coming and nutmegs flashy enough to crush your ego. Nothing more to dismantle hope.
Final Scene – My Reflection
I stare at myself in the dark window.
The moonlight catches the edge of my chin. My breath fogs the glass.
We're going to face Real Madrid.
We're going to face Sae Itoshi.
And this time, there's no Luna to balance him. No safety net. No light.
And his new change—he will show me my weaknesses. But I will take it head-on.
Only frost.
And artificial dismantling. I will face this. And whatever happens in the end of all of this—I will be Number 1 New Gen 11 and then go beyond the ranking to be compared to a master like Loki when Neo Egoist League starts. He is at the level of the masters like Chris, Lavinho, Snuffy—and now...
Closing Line
To defeat the one who walks with no joy… I must become the one who walks with madness.
