Born to Be a Secretary

chapter 63

The polished wooden floor stretched along the long corridor, its characteristic glossy sheen carefully maintained. With every step, muddy footprints stamped onto it. It didn’t matter. Kwon Youngjae only managed to steady his trembling breath once he arrived in front of the room filled with that concentrated scent.

A wooden tray lay before the door. On it, a glass of water and some pills. The pills were pheromone suppressants, well known to Kwon Youngjae himself. Both remained untouched, preserving their original state.
Several servants of the Takano family appeared, having heard the noise. Seeing the clearly angry guest, they bowed their heads repeatedly, unable to do anything else.
Kwon Youngjae glared sharply at them, then grasped the door handle. Instead of having a third party inquire about the situation, he thought it better to see with his own eyes. The pheromones seeping from behind the door already confirmed Kim Heewon’s presence.

He twisted the handle roughly, but the firmly locked door did not budge. Bang—he struck the door with his fist.
“Secretary Kim. Open the door.”
Only faint groans answered him. Kwon knocked again, then kicked the unyielding door handle with his shoe. The brutal kick nearly shattered the door, and soon even the handle gave way under the assault.

Dim light spilled through the creaking wooden door as it opened slightly. Without hesitation, Kwon rushed inside—but froze, startled by the unexpected scene before him.
“…You.”
Kim Heewon was in heat. That was expected. But he never imagined Heewon would look so disheveled.

“Uhn, uht, ha.”
Heewon lay face down on the floor, rubbing his body. His shirt was completely unbuttoned, and his erect nipples scraped against the tatami mats. The rough sensation pleased him, eliciting continuous moans. This was instinct—the act born from overwhelming lust.
As the sweet pheromones typical of a heat-stricken Omega overwhelmed him, Kwon covered his nose with his forearm. The dominant Omega’s pheromones, deliberately unleashed, were devastating enough to shatter reason in an instant. He must not succumb. His eyes immediately grew fierce.

Sensing a presence, Heewon twisted his head. Seeing the Alpha in sight, he wriggled his limp limbs and crawled slowly forward. Before long, he reached Kwon’s feet and tightly gripped the hems of his black pants.
“Pheromones… hhn, quickly, give me…”
“Kim Heewon.”

Kwon called his name softly, but Heewon did not respond. Clinging to Kwon’s leg, he rubbed his heated cheek against it. His desperate posture, begging to be soaked in Alpha pheromones, was pitiful.
Kwon slowly bent his knees and sat down. He pulled Heewon’s face away from his shin and gripped his chin firmly.
The other’s eyes were glazed, lips half-open with clear saliva dripping. His face was flushed red-hot from fever. His soaked bangs hung limp, sticking in strands to his sweat-dampened forehead. His entire body betrayed the heat of his rut.

“Get your head straight.”
Despite the cold warning, Heewon only shook his head. He shook off Kwon’s hand from his chin and crawled between Kwon’s legs.
“Haa, quickly, please. This… quickly…”
His hands desperately searched over spread thighs. Finding his genitals shifted to the right, he breathed heavily. Unsatisfied with merely stroking them over his pants, he reached for the tightly fastened buckle.

Kwon’s expression hardened. Suddenly, revulsion rose in his throat.
‘Put it in me. Get me pregnant. Spray your semen inside me.’
‘Haa, if you don’t want to fuck me, then at least watch me do it myself. Uhn, hh.’

What Heewon was doing was no different from the Omegas who had leapt at him in heat before. It was a sight Kwon despised deeply.
“Kim Heewon!”
He grabbed the open collar of his shirt and yanked it up forcefully. Heewon’s face, dragged along, met Kwon’s gaze. His face paled sharply at the piercing Alpha pheromones, as if reason briefly returned.

“I… I’m… Mu-nim.”
His reddened eyes grew moist. It was the first time Kwon heard such a weak voice from him. The always upright Secretary Kim was nowhere to be found. He was only a pitiful, pathetic Omega who couldn’t control his own body.
Heewon trembled and placed a hand on Kwon’s shoulder. Even if the Alpha before him rejected him, he dared not resist his instincts. Despite pain, sorrow, and suffering, he lowered his head. His sour breath escaped like a sigh.

“Please… help me.”
His lips touched lightly. The heat, as if scorched by a branding iron, and the uncontrollable trembling flowed fully through their meeting lips.
“……”

Kwon grabbed Heewon’s hair roughly. Pulling back, the pressed faces were dragged apart limply. The blurry tears fell helplessly.
…Fuck, harsh breaths escaped with curses. His brows furrowed uncontrollably with unbearable disgust, and his clenched hand twisted the hair with all its strength.
Numbing memories rewound. Days torn to shreds flashed by, forcing him to endure pain until his teeth ground down. Leaving now would be easiest, but the desperate gaze searching only for him held Kwon tightly.

Whether it was pity or responsibility, he couldn’t say. One thing was certain: he would never have acted like this if it weren’t for Kim Heewon. He swallowed hard.
Unable to resist the pressure, Heewon collapsed to the floor. A heavy bergamot scent surged like a giant wave, causing Kwon to lose the last thread of reason he barely held. He hugged those broad shoulders and relentlessly sucked the tongue filling his mouth. Even that wasn’t enough—his lower body quivered. He wriggled, desperate to rub against him.
Heewon’s pheromones spilled out like a broken dam. The sweet scent flooded the air, nearly suffocating. Kwon fought with all his might not to be dragged under. As their tongues intertwined, the veins on the back of his hand braced firmly against the floor.

“Hhn, uht!”
Heewon, unable to contain his excitement, tried to pull off his pants himself. Kwon hastily loosened the tie around his neck. Grabbing the wrists moving on their own, he tightly bound them with the tie. This could not be allowed to proceed here. Sitting upright, he picked up his phone from afar and called Secretary Song.
—Yes, Executive Director!

“Arrange a hotel nearby immediately.”
—A hotel… you mean?
“Secretary Kim has been found. He’s in heat, so he must be moved discreetly. The location is—”

Kwon took a breath. His head was dizzy from the pheromones, and his words faltered. Brushing his messy bangs aside, he squeezed his eyes shut and opened them again.
He briefly explained the current location to Secretary Song. She seemed to want to ask more but Kwon ended the call and slid the phone back into his jacket. Below, Heewon couldn’t wait, grinding his lowered hips.
Kwon slowly lowered his gaze to trace the inside of Heewon’s cheek. So, he truly had no intention of holding back anymore. His shirt was fully open, and the sight of Heewon panting shamelessly was unbearably irritating.

He bent down slowly. As if welcoming the weight pressing on him, Heewon raised his bound hands and threw them around Kwon’s neck. The smooth tie rubbed side to side, scratching the back of Kwon’s neck.
“I told you to stay away. What the hell did you do with Chairman Takano to end up like this?”
“Hhn, uh.”

Words were meaningless to someone out of their mind. Heewon tightened his grip on Kwon’s face and pulled him closer. His red tongue was already out, eagerly waiting at his lips.
“…Get a grip, or you’ll get a proper scolding.”
Kwon bit Heewon’s lower lip hard as a warning. The soft flesh tasted so sweet it almost hurt his tongue. It was long past the time pheromone suppressants could help. Kwon knew well from experience how agonizing burning lust was.

This was the only way. Kwon slid his tongue deep into the small open cavern of Heewon’s mouth. He desperately prayed that at least he would keep his reason.
The car was filled with silence. Occasionally, the navigation’s voice instructed the route.
Secretary Song drove, eyes fixed on the windshield. Since it was an unfamiliar road and an urgent situation, she couldn’t relax.

Still, she was diligently following Executive Director Kwon’s orders. Though not a five-star, she had arranged a decent hotel. Knowing the guest was in heat, she had even checked in early.
Suddenly, heavy breaths came from the back seat. Though worried about Secretary Kim, she couldn’t turn to look while driving. This heat cycle was new to her too; she didn’t know how to respond. Was Executive Director Kwon alright? She had heard even Alphas could be affected…
From what she glimpsed earlier, he only looked disheveled but fairly composed. Maybe because he was a dominant Alpha? Beta Secretary Song only guessed, unaware of the endurance scale those with traits possessed.

Before long, they arrived at their destination. The hotel stood far from the bustling district, so the front was quiet. When navigation ended, the car’s silence became even more uncomfortable.
Secretary Song gripped the steering wheel tightly and swallowed nervously. She parted her lips several times before speaking.
“Executive Director, should we arrange for an Alpha?”

From the back seat, Kwon slowly shook his head.
“An Alpha?”
“Yes, I thought it might be necessary. He can’t endure the heat cycle alone…”

Secretary Song glanced at the rearview mirror. Their eyes met briefly. He didn’t blink once. His sharp gaze made her wonder if she’d misspoken. She pressed her lips tightly.
“Isn’t it too late for that now?”
Kwon had never considered bringing another Alpha from the start. No matter the heat cycle, he would never allow some stranger to be near him. His polite refusal had a reasonable basis.

Though Secretary Song felt doubtful, she perked up to listen to the next °• N 𝑜 v 𝑒 l i g h t •° instructions.
“The contract has been finalized anyway, so I don’t think I need to stay. Tell the staff to wrap things up and return home.”
“……”

“I’ll return as soon as Secretary Kim’s condition improves. Have his suitcase brought to the hotel entrance.”
“So, you’ll be staying with him… Ah, yes. Understood.”
Secretary Song turned her head back in surprise. Seeing the serious Executive Director, her question vanished. She felt she shouldn’t ask any further.

Kwon sighed shortly. His pounding headache made him press his furrowed brows unconsciously.
“One more thing…”
At that moment, Heewon, who had been panting in the corner, raised his head and suddenly showered Kwon’s lips with a kiss. Kwon didn’t push him away but accepted willingly. In fact, he kissed back even more eagerly.

“Hik!” Secretary Song gasped in shock.
Kwon’s fierce glare shot toward her, and she immediately covered her open mouth. Feeling she had seen something she shouldn’t, she quickly turned her head away. After that, her pupils dilated wide as she stared only ahead.
The wet sounds from behind made her swallow hard. It seemed this wouldn’t end easily, so she quietly left the room.

After a long wait outside, the back door finally opened. Executive Director Kwon stepped out lightly, wiping the wetness from his lips and carrying Secretary Kim on his shoulder.
“What room number?”
The dry voice asking the room number sounded as if nothing had happened. Secretary Song fixed her confused eyes on the floor and replied.

“Room 1214, Executive Director.”
“Good work.”
Kwon spat out a harsh word and turned away. But barely a step later, he stopped again. To the still frozen Secretary Song, he added what he hadn’t said earlier.

“Please keep today’s matter strictly confidential.”
Secretary Song bowed even deeper. Her heart pounded as if it would burst. The secret was too big for her to handle, and she sensed she wouldn’t sleep well for days.
