Bound to the Alpha, the Witch and the Vampire

Chapter 7: Nice To Meet You, Roomie

 Moon's POV

"Hi," Mom said, walking over to the girl.

Her brown eyes widened when Mom walked closer, as her lips tightened.

"Hi," she said, giving a small awkward wave.

I held Mom back, and stepped forward.

"Who're you?" I asked.

She tapped on her badge, and I stared at it. The golden badge glistened in the sunset, and I scoffed.

"Bridget," she said.

More like midget. The girl barely reached my shoulders.

"I'm the dorm's representative," she said.

Her eyes fell on me, her gaze moving down to my body till they reached my toes and I wiggled them. She clutched her chest, gasping slightly, her gaze resting on my face.

She cleared her throat when she saw my frown deepening.

"What's your name?" she asked, the tight smile on her face.

I had to give it to her; she looked constipated like she'd swallowed a frog and somehow still managed to keep that smile on her face.

"Moon," I drawled.

The first person I talked to was a snob. What a surprise.

"Moon," she called, her gaze falling to my open sandals yet again.

"Do you have a foot fetish or something?" I asked, lifting my toes towards her.

She screamed in horror and stepped back, stumbling to the ground. Her hair draped on her face as she glared at me.

I take it back. Maybe the school was going to be fun, after all.

There was nothing more satisfying than putting a rich, stuck up girl in her place.

"Moon," Mom scolded, rushing over to Bridget.

Mom reached to help her when the poor girl shrieked on top of her lungs, as she scrambled away. She looked terrified like Mom had some kind of contagious skin disease.

"W-w…" Mom trailed off in confusion as she watched Bridget run away.

She turned to me with a frown, but I only shrugged, the grin tugging at my lips.

"What was that about me fitting in again?" I asked.

"Well, that was rude," Dad stated. He pulled Mom closer in a hug, and kissed her forehead.

"I was only trying to help her up," she mumbled.

Dad rubbed her back. "I know."

I turned to him. "What'd you expect from a bunch of snotty kids?"

"Hey there," a girl called and we turned to her.

"Hi?" My brows shot up, as I stared at her outfit.

"You're new, aren't you?" she asked.

"Yeah."

She held out her hand. "I'm Gabriella."

"Moon," I grabbed her hand, half expecting her to flinch at my textured palm.

But her smile lit up her face. It wasn't a fake or a tight smile, rather it reached her eyes, showing it was genuine. She had on a short pink dress, and her blond hair was tied in a bun, topped off by a pink ribbon. Her heels made her taller, almost my height, and her pink purse was laced with fur, also pink.

"Are you new too?" Mom asked.

She turned to Mom. "Yes."

She brought out a paper from her purse. "What hall are you in?"

I brought out the crumbled paper from my back pocket, almost conscious of the difference of the state of our pieces of paper.

"Hall B. Room 2025," I read.

"No way," she said, grabbing the paper from me.

I glanced at Mom, who shrugged.

"We're in the same room," she shrieked.

I shut my eyes, wishing I could do the same with my ears. She squealed and threw her arms around me, bouncing on her heels like we'd been friends since birth.

"Nice to meet you, roomie," she said.

"Uh…" I trailed off.

I met Dad's gaze, and asked him for help, but he just smiled instead.

Great.

She pulled away finally and sighed. "We're gonna have so much fun, roomie."

"Are we decided on that name?" I asked.

She grabbed my shoulder. "Of course, roomie."

"Okay."

Help!

If I could communicate through the mind link, I'd be screaming their heads off. They shared a look and smiled. My eyes narrowed as I glared at them.

Mom held my hands. "See? Told you you'd fit right in."

I rolled my eyes. "It's too early to look that smug."

"Come on," Dad said, grabbing my suitcase.

"Oh, you can't go in," Gabriella said.

He paused. "Why?"

"Parents aren't allowed to go inside the halls," she turned to me. "Didn't you attend the orientation?"

"What orientation?" I asked.

She grabbed my shoulder. "Oh, you poor thing."

"Okay?"

"Come, I'll tell you everything you need to know about Supernaturals' High," she said.

"I have to-."

"But first," she clapped her hands, and my suitcases vanished into thin air. I froze, my mouth falling open.

"What just happened?" I asked.

She curtsied. "I'm Gabriella, daughter of Violet Stone, leader of Cloud coven."

"Okay."

She blinked. "I said, daughter of the leader of Cloud coven."

"I heard you the first time," I said.

She sighed, and straightened. "You don't know who that is, do you?"

I glanced at Mom who shrugged. "Am I supposed to?"

Bridget tsked. "Oh, you poor soul. You have a lot to learn, and not enough time to learn it."

She grabbed my arm. "Let's go."

I dug my heel in the concrete. There was no way I was following the strange, albeit nice girl, without knowing where we were headed.

"Go where?" I asked.

She paused. "I need to show you around campus. Your social life depends on it."

My feet stayed glued to the ground. I didn't know this girl, didn't trust this place and I was sure as hell not wasn't following her to some strange place.

"I'm not going anywhere with you."

"Go," Mom said, and I stared at her.

"What?"

How could she entrust me to the hands of a stranger?

"Go have fun," she said.

"Wait---" I reached for her, but she was already dragging Dad to the car.

Just like that...she left me. Without so much as a goodbye.

I'd never felt so betrayed in my almost eighteen years of living. Gabriella tugged on my arm, and I peered at her blue eyes.

"Shall we?"
