Chapter 1298: Relaxing For A Bit
-----
I quickly decided to send a message to the Queen, Camilla as I remembered that we weren’t there yet! She seemed a bit upset but responded quickly.
[Planta]: [I’m so sorry Camilla! An invasion occurred in the forest, and we had to hurry there to save it! It was the Demon King of Death invading the forest, and he brought a bunch of corrupted Players, and even revived Fafnir as an undead, and more! It was very chaotic! So sorry.]
[Planta]: [We’re having a feast right now, but I’ll go there right away!]
[Camilla]: [It’s okay Planta, I understand. A lot happened there. Take your time. We’re not going anywhere anyways. We’ll delay it until you’re back. But please don’t take too long either.]
[Camilla]: [I’m glad everyone is alright. You should have told me earlier though; I could have easily deployed some of my forces to help you. We’re technically allied nations at this point, we will protect one another from now on.]
[Planta]: [Really??]
[Camilla]: [Yeah, although nothing is official yet, signing a treaty is something we’re already considering with my husband. You’ve helped us so much we want to repay you for everything with our military strength and anything else. We could even begin trading things we lack from one another. We’re interested in the large quantity of food your forest produces, which I’m sure is so much that even all inhabitants are feed well.]
[Planta]: [Yes that’s right, there’s food everywhere, so much, everyone is never hungry at least… But indeed, we do lack a lot of things such as ores and magic crystals. There are small mines underground, but they are small and are almost empty due to years of being mined by the Gnomes and Brownies.]
[Camilla]: [I see, then we could indeed trade a lot of things! Gadgets, steel, stone, ore, fabric, and much more. Our city has been growing so big we can’t easily sustain the entire population with our farms alone, even when they expand across such a large piece of land.]
[Planta]: [Okay, I’ll consider this, but I also need to talk with the other rulers of the forest. I might be considered the guardian, but I can’t take the decision for everyone.]
[Camilla]: [It’s fine! Don’t worry about anything, take care and enjoy.]
[Planta]: [Thanks!]
With that said and done, I guess I didn’t have to hurry too much. It was a nice opportunity to check my items while everyone ate and celebrated.
"Oh, so she said we could take our time? That’s nice," said Mark. "If we can bring Erebus to them it would be even better too."
"Oh yeah, he’s definitely coming with us!" I nodded.
I told Mark about what I talked with Camilla, and he seemed rather happy he didn’t had to hurry along with me. Stay updated with NovelBin.Côm
Now, as for the items I got… Well, my inventory is as full as ever.
Aside from the Quest Rewards, I also got a bunch of stuff from every Player that died permanently in the battle!
I started checking my inventory, and there were literally like a hundred pages of different items to sort, this was truly hellish.
"Ah, how do I even sort this out quickly? This is too much… Helper Spirit, are you there? Can you do something?"
"Hmm, ok, let me sort it out for you, it’s not hard," suddenly, the glowing blue colored Helper Spirit appeared by my call. "Let’s see…"
"Thanks!" I happily said, eating my spaghetti.
After five minutes…
"I’m done," he said. "I’ve rearranged all the dropped items from those Players into Equipment, Potions, Food, and other Consumables, Usable Items for Weapon Enhancing, and then Materials. There’s a total of… like five to six thousand items there."
"So much?!" I cried in shock. "I’m glad you were here to help… Alright, is there something I could use right now?"
"There are several consumable items that could help you, yes, a lot of little Stat Boosting Elixirs," he said. "Aside from that, there’s some Skill Books and Death General Skill Jewels, all of them to learn new Skills… Oh, there’s also a Specialization Marble! Over there."
"There’s one?!" I gasped. "Who had this?"
"The leader… a guy called Elios," said the Helper. "He seemed to have received this and never used it like the rest."
"Wait, they had Specializations?!" I asked.
"Yes most of them had one but it seems they chose weak ones, or they were weak… it never showed completely," laughed the Helper. "I guess they were doing things wrong, or just played the game terribly."
"To think they had so many things given to them right away for free to make them strong and they were still so weak according to what I’ve heard…" I sighed. "Was it even worth it for them to end up risking their accounts over this? Now they’re deleted… I just hope they’re ok IRL."
"They’re fine, the System protected their Souls this time," said the Helper Spirit. "It has been upgrading over time, rapidly adapting to better protect Players. Even Demon Kings can’t easily affect souls now… Although they can still influence them sometimes. Nothing is perfect unfortunately."
"Huh… Why is the System letting these monsters brainwash Players and turn them into their servants though?" I asked. "They’re the ones creating these quests and rewards, right?"
"Not entirely… the System cannot simply act towards one faction. The Demon Kings have equal rights to utilize the System like everyone does. Most of the time, they put almost everything necessary, the rewards are made by them, the power is also gifted by them, the system is simply a medium everyone uses, even them," said the Helper Spirit. "And… Well, I think that’s as much as I’m allowed to say."
"Uhh… I see," I nodded. "Well, let’s move on then. I’ll use these first!"
Two tickets that were in my hands turned into light that flowed into my body, giving me a strong aura of power.
