Chapter 39: Chapter 39
Jimin's heart hammered in his chest, each beat louder than the last. The moment he saw Jisun, everything from the past came rushing back, the cold, sterile smell of the hospital, the beeping machines, and the endless nights he spent alone, trapped in that room.
His body went stiff, and his hands automatically clenched the sleeve of his shirt as if trying to hold on to something, anything, to keep himself grounded. The fear felt so overwhelming, that it began to suffocate him, as the memories flooded his mind in vivid, terrifying flashes.
Taehyung noticed the panic in Jimin's eyes and felt a burning anger rise within him. The sheer sight of Jisun, the thing that had caused so much pain for Jimin, made him want to lash out. But he held himself back, trying to remain calm for Jimin's sake. His hand moved toward Jimin's, gripping it tightly. "I'm here," he whispered, his voice steady despite the fury boiling inside him. "You're not alone."
Kyungmi, on the other hand, looked equally terrified, her eyes wide with shock. But she quickly composed herself, taking a deep breath to steady her racing heart. She couldn't afford to let her fear show, not now. Jimin needed all the support he could get, and she wouldn't let herself fall apart. Despite her fear, she stayed silent, watching the scene unfold before her, trying to keep her emotions in check.
"I'm going to ask some questions, and you have to answer." Yoongi declared in a firm tone, "And if you lie or deny to tell me anything, you'll face the consequences." He added.
Jisun growled like a hurt wolf, nodding his head because he had no choice but to obey Yoongi's command. He was already in pain, and it would be hard to bear any more.
"Why you're haunting Jimin?" Yoongi asked in a subtle tone.
Jisun turned his terrorizing face towards Jimin, his demonic eyes spilling fire as if he were ready to attack Jimin at any moment.
Jimin felt the fear crawled under his skin, his heart thudded loudly in his chest and his breath came into a shallow gasped.
Taehyung grabbed his hand and squeezed softly, to assured Jimin that he was safe and protected.
Yoongi splashed the holy water on Jisun's face again. "I asked you a question." He reminded.
Jisun growled agonizingly, he parted his lips and finally decided to speak, as he felt helpless. "Because I hate Jimin so much, if he wasn't a part of our family then I'll be alive." He said.
For a moment, deep silence wandered into the room. Taehyung felt the heavy burden rising on his chest, it was finally the time fo find out the truth that was buried into the depth of darkness.
"Why your parents took Jimin when they never cherished him?" Yoongi asked again.
Jisun growled in pain, his demonic eyes glared at Yoongi, "Because my parents wanted to use his body to bring my older brother back."
Taehyung's grip on Jimin's hand tightened as he processed Jisun's words. His heart sank, a mix of shock and disbelief flooding over him. He looked at Jimin, seeing the pain in his eyes, and it broke something inside him. His anger flared again, but this time it was mixed with a deep sadness for Jimin. Taehyung wanted to shield him from this, to take away the weight of these horrible truths. But he couldn't. All he could do was stay by Jimin's side, offering silent support as they faced the terrifying past together.
Kyungmi's eyes widened as Jisun spoke. The words hit her like a punch to the stomach. She had always known that Jimin's family was complicated, but hearing this… it was more than she could have imagined. She looked at Jimin, her heart aching for him. He had been used, manipulated, and abandoned.
Jimin's mind raced, trying to process everything that was being said. His chest felt tight, as if the air around him had turned thick and suffocating. The words Jisun spoke echoed in his head, the weight of them pressing down on him. He had always wondered why his parents had treated him the way they did, but hearing that they had used him as a pawn to bring someone back… it felt like a betrayal on a level he couldn't even comprehend. His hands shook, and he struggled to keep his composure. But with Taehyung's hand in his, he found a small comfort, a reminder that he wasn't alone in this. Not anymore.
Despite knowing the weight of the truth, Yoongi splashed the water and forced Jisun to continued. "Tell us everything." He said.
Jisun screamed im extreme agony, "Ask him to stop you bastard or I'll make you pay." He yelled at Jimin.
Jimin jolted through the fear, "No, you have to endure this pain, because it's time to end everything." He replied in a subtle tone.
Yoongi raised his hand to splashed the water again, but Jisun continued.
"Jihun, my older brother committed suicide at the age of sixteen, he was bullied in school." Jisun began to speak, his growling voice echoed through the walls, increasing the intensity. "My parents couldn't tolerate this, so they decided to seek help from their family shaman." He said.
Jimin now realized that the woman he saw in his dream, was that shaman woman, who performed a ritual on him to bring Jihun's soul inside his body.
He jerked with the thought of the evil intentions of Mr. And Mrs. Park.
"The shaman told my parents, that they have to adopt a child, who shares the same birth and the first character of his name." Jisun revealed, his every word stabbing Jimin's heart like an arrow, "So my parents adopted Jimin, who shared the same birthdate with my brother and a first character of his name. Now the shaman told my parents to wait until Jimin turns sixteen, the same age when Jihun died."
Jimin held back his tears, feeling a deep ache in his heart. He couldn't believe how foolish he had been to think that he had a family, that he would be loved and cared for by his parents.
Taehyung lacked any word that could comfort Jimin, he just put his hands on Jimin's back and softly caressed. Kyungmi too could feel the warmth of tears in her eyes.
Yoongi asked Jisun to continued without being stop, "Don't stop, tell us everything you know."
Jisun nodded, although the fit of anger twisted inside, "We all hated Jimin because we wanted him to disappeared, so that my brother could return in his body. That night, the shaman last was going to perform the ritual on him, and I was in my room. I heard Jimin's pleading from the basement room, and I decided to heard them from closer." He paused for a moment as he recalled that unfortunate night, "Jimin was crying badly, I heard my parents conversation with the shaman lady." He paused for a moment, "Jihun was angry with my parents, because they never heard him, they never helped him, so he refused to comeback, instead he decided to steal me. Right at the moment, the shaman lady also told my parents that the ritual was incomplete and it could have consequences, right at the moment, I felt someone pushed me downstairs and I died." Jisun went silent after telling the darkest truth about his parents.
Yoongi exhaled a deep sigh, "And your parents put the blame on Jimin, so that they could get rid of him, because Jimin had finally found out about their secret." He said, after realizing the remaining story.
"It was weird to see my own dead body, but I was still standing on the stairs, looking at myself." Jisun said, "My parents were afraid because they knew, Jimin was going to tell the truth to the entire world, they decided to get rid of Jimin."
Jisun smirked venomously as he glared at Jimin once again, "Because of the incomplete ritual, Jimin had forgotten everything, my parents put the blame on him, they thought police work sent him to the prison but police had no solid evidence and Jimin was just a minor." He said, then his smirk turned devilish, "Then my parents moved into a new home. I died because of Jimin, if he wasn't a part of my family then I'd be alive, so I began to haunt him, it was fun to see him screaming for help, and then he would get beat by my father."
Jimin's body trembled with shock as Jisun's words sank in. The weight of everything Jisun had just revealed felt unbearable. His adoptive parents had never loved him, they had only seen him as a tool for their own twisted plans. He wanted to scream, to cry, but the pain was too much. The betrayal cut deep, and he felt his heart break all over again.
Taehyung's grip on Jimin tightened, his jaw clenched in fury. Every word Jisun said made him want to rip him apart. His heart ached for Jimin, for everything he had suffered. Seeing Jimin in so much pain was unbearable, and the thought that Jimin had been tormented by his family for so long made Taehyung's blood boil. He tried to stay calm for Jimin's sake, but it was getting harder by the second. He couldn't stand it anymore.
Kyungmi sat there unable to speak, her hands shaking as she watched Jimin struggle. She couldn't imagine the depth of the pain he was feeling. Her heart ached for him, for everything he had endured at the hands of the people who should have loved him.
"What about your parents? Weren't they responsible for your death.?" Asked Yoongi in an angry tone. "If there was anyone who deserved to be haunted by you were them, not Jimin." His eyes burned with fury, and his hands clenched into fists at his sides.
"Yes! You're right, they were responsible too, tauts why I gave them a horrible punishments, after they abandoned Jimin in the hospital, I began to haunt tem too,but they couldn't seek anyone's help, they both reached to the point where they hit thier heads to the wall and ended thier own lives." Jisun explained.
Yoongi couldn't believe how monstrous Jisun's family had been, how they had used Jimin for their own gain. The idea of Jimin being haunted by Jisun, of being treated like this by his own family, it was too much for Yoongi to bear. His anger flared to an almost uncontrollable level.
"Enough," Yoongi growled, his voice low and dangerous. He had heard enough. The truth was out, and it was time to end this. He turned to Jisun, his eyes cold and full of hatred. "You're going to pay for what you've done." His voice was like ice, and every word held a promise of destruction. Yoongi wasn't going to let Jisun get away with tormenting Jimin. Not anymore.
He closed his eyes and began to whispered some spells, soon with his words, Jisun felt extreme burning sensation in his body, his ghostly screams echoing wildly in the entire mansion as he began to transformed into a high flame.
The window doors swung open as if they were made of paper, with candles flickering like dancing shadows. The wind grew stronger and wilder, pulling at everything around it.
Taehyung tightened his grip against Jimin's trembling hand, his other hand firmly hold Kyungmi's hand, they all looked equally petrified. However, after a few minutes of struggle, Jisun turned into the ashes, and Jimin's decade old suffering finally ended.
