Chapter 21: Sparring
In the small forest on the back mountain of the Xiao family.
Nearly a month had passed since the auction of the ten bottles of elixir.
As usual, Xiao Se was sparring with Hong Kui.
"Explosive Fist"
"Sky-Splitting Leg"
"Heavy Elbow Strike"
Utilizing the Misty Smoke Steps, Xiao Se approached Hong Kui with a serious expression, launching attacks with his fists, elbows, and legs as fast as lightning, but each time, Hong Kui effortlessly neutralized them.
This was the first time in a month that Xiao Se had managed to get close to Hong Kui, so he naturally wouldn't miss such a prime opportunity.
He used every fighting technique he had learned, even employing the Controlling Crane, Capture Dragon to leverage his attacks, but he achieved no effect. Each time he was about to strike Hong Kui, it felt like hitting a soft sponge.
The frustration of not being able to use his full strength was immense.
Under Xiao Se's spiritual perception, it seemed that Hong Kui was enveloped in a strange force field, much like the telekinesis from cartoons on Blue Star in his past life.
With close-range attacks proving ineffective, Xiao Se suddenly changed his strategy, leaping backward to a distance of ten meters from Hong Kui.
He planted his feet firmly, his arms raised slightly with his palms facing upward. Blue and white flames rose from each palm, and he raised his arms above his head, merging the two flames into a fireball with a diameter of over one meter.
Slowly lowering his arms to waist level, Xiao Se focused his mind, causing the fireball to split into seven, forming seven blue and white flame swords that circled around him.
"Crimson Flame Sword"
With a roar in his mind, Xiao Se directed the seven blue and white flame swords, now charged with powerful force, to shoot towards Hong Kui.
The sudden appearance of the seven blue and white flame swords surprised Hong Kui's seductive eyes, and she transformed into a ghostly figure, effortlessly dodging each sword.
However, the Crimson Flame Sword, being a high-level fighting technique, was not so easily dealt with.
After Hong Kui evaded the initial attack, Xiao Se controlled the swords to change direction and attack again.
Hong Kui continued to dodge, but the flame swords were relentless, seemingly intent on hitting their target no matter what, raining down from all directions.
After a brief struggle with the flame swords, Hong Kui's eyebrows furrowed slightly, showing signs of impatience.
She raised her jade hand, summoning a giant blood-red scythe, which clashed with the seven approaching flame swords.
"Clang, clang, clang"
The crisp sound of metal clashing rang out, and the seven blue flame swords were deflected, causing a burst of red light.
Gazing at the deflected flame swords, Xiao Se was taken aback and couldn't help but ask, "Can energy attacks be deflected too?"
Retracting her hand, Hong Kui twirled the scythe and, with a smile, looked at Xiao Se and said, "Brother, it seems you're going to lose to me again."
"It's not over yet!"
Xiao Se raised his right hand, palm up, with blue and white dou qi surging around him. Seven blue and white flame swords reappeared behind him, and all his fighting energy was concentrated in his right hand. He held his right elbow with his left hand, and the seven flame swords merged into a three-meter-long deep blue flame giant sword.
"Crimson Flame Sword, Break the Extremes!"
Wrapped in blue fighting energy, Xiao Se extended his sword finger. With a roar in his mind, the deep blue flame giant sword, carrying the sound of breaking through the air, fiercely shot towards Hong Kui.
Facing the massive, heavy flame giant sword, Hong Kui's seductive smile faded slightly.
Without performing any complex moves, the blood-red scythe in her hand vanished, turning into a red light that condensed on the ring finger of her right hand. She lightly tapped the tip of the flame giant sword with her fingertip.
The sudden change made Xiao Se's pupils contract, and he sent the remaining fighting energy into the flame giant sword.
"Crack."
But the gap between them was too significant. Starting from the tip of the sword, the flame giant sword began to crack.
"Boom"
A thunderous explosion rang out between them, and the flame giant sword shattered into countless pieces, which then transformed into the initial blue and white beast flames, scattering and eventually dissipating.
Affected by the explosion, Xiao Se, exhausted of fighting energy, was thrown like a kite with a broken string. Just as he was about to crash into a tree behind him, Hong Kui teleported behind him and caught him.
Looking at the pale, unconscious Xiao Se in her arms, Hong Kui carefully checked him and breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, he was only severely depleted of fighting energy and had no other injuries.
"You went too far, actually beating Brother up like this," the gentle reproachful voice of Long Kui echoed in Hong Kui's mind.
"I…" Feeling a bit guilty due to Long Kui's words, Hong Kui explained, "This is what Brother asked me to do, but I will take responsibility."
"Quickly take Brother to the medicinal bath," Long Kui stopped scolding Hong Kui this time, having been concerned but forgetting the initial purpose of making Hong Kui act as a sparring partner.
"Mm." Hong Kui nodded slightly, lifting Xiao Se in a princess carry and hurrying towards the waterfall cave.
Entering the cave chamber, she retrieved the bathtub Xiao Se had prepared earlier, filled it with water, and, using telekinesis, heated the water to the appropriate temperature before adding the Spirit Nurturing Liquid.
The Spirit Nurturing Liquid has two uses: internal consumption and medicinal baths. The former greatly speeds up the cultivator's training, while the latter, though less effective in speeding up training, can effectively relieve fatigue, heal internal injuries, and restore fighting energy.
Looking at the tattered Xiao Se, Hong Kui unusually became a bit shy.
"Brother is very tired now; quickly undress him and put him in the tub," Long Kui's voice sounded again in her mind.
Upon hearing this, Hong Kui's face flushed deeper. Although she was bold and assertive, she had never dealt with such matters before. She hesitantly suggested, "How about you do it?"
"I…" Long Kui's tone weakened, her face flushed, and after a moment of silence, she bit her lip and finally said, "I'll do it. For Brother, Long Kui is willing to do anything."
Upon hearing Long Kui's "heroic" declaration, Hong Kui sighed lightly and murmured, "I'll do it. I was born to protect you. And if it's Brother, a little embarrassment is nothing."
As she spoke, Hong Kui slowly began to undress Xiao Se.
With Xiao Se's clothes removed, his tall, perfect physique was revealed to Hong Kui. The initial shyness faded, and her dark red eyes curiously observed him. Long Kui, hidden within Hong Kui, also blushed and urged, "Hurry and put Brother in the tub," before selectively falling asleep.
"Alright." Hong Kui responded, gently placing Xiao Se into the bathtub.
