Chapter 152: The Spider Weaves Her Net
Jax flashed a sly grin as he clicked open a sleek silver briefcase, the sound echoing in the dimly lit room. Inside lay a treasure trove of secrets:
A data chip labeled "Every corrupt official, every blackmail file, every hidden account in the Aegis District."
A single keycard inscribed with "Unlimited access to the Obsidian Network, home to the world's top intelligence operatives."
A bank ledger boasting "Ten billion Unicreds. Discretionary funds at your fingertips."
Selene's eyes widened as she absorbed the contents, her mind racing.
She looked up, curiosity piqued. "And what does your boss want in return?"
Jax leaned closer, lowering his voice to a conspiratorial whisper. "The same thing you've always craved, Selene. Control."
There was a tense pause before Selene snapped the briefcase shut decisively. "Tell your boss… I'm in."
Jax nodded once, satisfaction flickering across his face. "He'll be pleased."
As he turned to leave, Selene called after him, "One last question."
Jax glanced back over his shoulder. "What is it?"
"Who is he?"
The last thing she saw was Jax's enigmatic smile before he disappeared through the door.
"You'll meet him soon enough," he replied cryptically.

Selene's Penthouse – Diamond Heights
The city sprawled beneath Selene's floor-to-ceiling windows like a glittering chessboard, each light a potential pawn in her new game.
She stood silhouetted against the night, a glass of Valeerian Noir swirling in her hand, the same vintage favored by Victor's enigmatic employer.
A subtle power play? Absolutely. A quiet declaration of alignment? Without a doubt.
On the onyx coffee table lay the briefcase Victor had given her, its contents meticulously examined.
The data chip pulsed with incriminating secrets, the keycard gleamed with promise, and the bank ledger… well, money was always a useful tool.
But one thing was crystal clear: her first task was to sow discord and let the lions tear each other apart.
With an air of confidence, Selene began with the easiest target.
Her fingers danced across her holographic screen as she pulled up security footage from the data chip, Damien's men "accidentally" raiding a Black Hand opium den two weeks ago.
Except that at that time, the Black Hand had been under Kain Vex's protection.
A few edits here, a timestamp adjustment there, and a whispered rumor to just the right ears would set things in motion.
By morning, underground channels would buzz with one irrefutable fact: Damien had deliberately struck at Kain's interests. And Kain? Well, he never let a slight go unanswered.
-------------
The Second Move: Lucian Drake
Lucian fancied himself the puppet master of information, but Selene intended to remind him who truly pulled the strings.
She selected a particularly damning file, Lucian's secret dealings with the XZF Syndicate, a direct violation of the Aegis underworld's "neutrality" accords.
But she didn't leak it to Damien or Kain; no, she sent it straight to Roland Mercer's remaining lieutenants.
Because nothing would infuriate Lucian more than watching his carefully constructed facade crumble from within.
-----------
The Third Move: Kain Vex
Kain was unpredictable, the surgeon-turned-reaper who valued precision above all else. So what did Selene do? She gave him chaos!
A fabricated dossier slipped into his network by one of her girls revealed evidence that Damien had hired replacements for the Twins, and they were instructed to eliminate Kain first.
Truth didn't matter; what mattered was how Kain would react, and he'd act as if it were true.
With this plan in place, Selene wore a smile that was anything but innocent.
---
It took just three days for the Syndicate to implode spectacularly.
Damien's warehouses went up in flames, too clean to be anything but professional arsonists at work.
Lucian's media empire suddenly found itself drowning in scandals as his carefully cultivated sources dried up overnight.
And Kain? He had vanished into the shadows, but not before leaving a chilling message in Damien's penthouse: a single scalpel, ominously embedded in the headboard of Damien's bed.
The implication was unmistakable:"You're already dead".
---
With the Syndicate tearing itself apart at the seams, Malik's forces surged forward like an unstoppable tide, filling the power vacuum left behind. Territories fell without resistance; soldiers defected by the hundreds.
And with each passing hour, whispers grew louder: Malik wasn't just another player in this dangerous game anymore,he was claiming his throne as the new King.
---
Jax arrived at Selene's penthouse unannounced, as always.
"You've impressed him," he remarked casually. Selene smirked back, "I'd hope so! It's not every day you get to watch an empire crumble with just a few keystrokes."
He placed a small box on the table. Inside lay a single black rose, its petals edged in shimmering gold, a striking symbol of both beauty and danger.
"A token," he murmured softly. "The first of many."
Then he was gone, leaving Selene alone with her thoughts, and the realization that an even more perilous game awaited her. Because now?
She was ready to meet the man behind the curtain.

Osborn Family Mansion -Arthur's Study Room.
The study room was slightly dark, Arthur sat behind the huge desk with his head buried in a pile of books wearing reading glasses as he seriously looked at the book infront of him with deep focus.
Just then the gaint screen plastered on the wall across from him lit up with a mesmerizing blue glow as Evolon blue visage appeared on tje screen.
It's data slit like eyes focused on Arthur who was seriously studying.
"Sir! Jax mission is 90% complete!" Evolon neutral like voice echoes in the study room.
Arthur eyes seems to freeze for a moment before he slowly raised his head and then glanced at the screen which was showing various kinds of data and then nodded.
"Good!"
"What about you he remaining 10%!" Arthur let out a deep breath and leaned back on his plush chair and asked.
"The remaining 10% consist of a few gangs who still refuse to surrender so Malik is currently focused cleaning them up!" Evolon replied.
Arthur steepled his fingers and then nodded.
"And Sir Ethan have send a message : The Operation on Varenya is complete! " Evolon added.
Arthur eyes immediately lit up when he heard and nodded his head repeatedly a smile appearing on his face.
" Good, good, good, tell him five days later I will becoming to Varenya! " Arthur said.
" Understood Sir! " Evolon replied.
