Chapter 365: 364 Crack (add one more chapter)
Qian Wangsun exclaimed, "Through a 100-kilometer-long tunnel without any light?"
Song Zhen replied, "It's not just that. I grew up in Nan Mountain City. The Hell Corridor, besides being pitch dark with no visibility, also had numerous runes carved into it. Every section of the tunnel had drastic changes in spiritual energy."
Song Zhen continued, "When people stay in the dark tunnel for a long time, with no sounds or sight, only hearing their own footsteps, breathing, and heartbeat... hallucinations gradually begin to appear. Moreover, due to the changes in spiritual energy caused by the runes, the hallucinations induced by the Hell Corridor are even more terrifying, containing a trace of the Dao Zang's essence."
Qian Wangsun exclaimed, "The Evil Sect actually engraved the contents of Dao Zang into it? Have they gone mad?"
"The law of the jungle, survival of the fittest, has always been the principle of the Evil Sect," Song Zhen replied with a bitter smile, then continued, "The original construction of the Hell Corridor was meant to choose cultivators. Anyone who could complete the Hell Corridor, even if they initially had no cultivation, could achieve a Dao Conversion rate of 0.1% and fully embark on the path of cultivation."
Song Zhen added, "However, the Hell Corridor was too bizarre and terrifying. During its use, it caused many people to have abnormal reactions, so it was eventually sealed off. But it is said that even now, standing at the entrance of the Hell Corridor, one can still hear the dying screams of the deformed ones coming from the darkness."
Song Zhen gave a bitter smile, "I tried it myself once, but after walking just 100 meters, I couldn't bear it and ran back."
Looking at the tunnel in front of her, Song Zhen said, "This passage feels like an imitation of the Hell Corridor."
She didn't mention that during the walk just now, she felt her body getting warmer and more comfortable, and at the same time thought that if her tongue were forked, it would look better.
Then her tongue split.
Song Zhen said anxiously, "If walking through the Hell Corridor once is meant for initiation, this corridor is probably meant to deform people. I feel it continuously stimulating my Primordial Spirit. If we complete it, we might all transform."
Everyone exchanged glances, suddenly unsure whether to proceed.
Zhou Bai checked the time, but couldn't worry about that now, thinking to himself, 'Only 25 minutes left, no time to waste.'
With that thought, he said directly, "I'll go down first. Those who want to follow, come along. If not, head back and wait for me outside."
Due to the 40-minute Time Reverse, Zhou Bai wanted to explore the place as quickly as possible, even if his team members encountered problems in the meantime.
Faced with Zhou Bai's proposal, everyone chose to go down, except for Song Zhen, who kept shaking her head, "Have you all gone mad? We could deform!"
Zhou Bai replied, "Then stay here and wait for us to come back."
Song Zhen, looking at Daniel Wu's handsome face, stomped her foot and said, "Staying here alone will scare me to death. Fine, I'll go with you, but Daniel Wu, you have to carry me. If you carry me, I feel safer and less likely to be affected by this place."
Watching Zhou Bai carry Song Zhen, Qian Wangsun thought to himself, 'I wonder what Song Zhen's reaction would be when she sees Zhou Bai's true face... Damn, I really look forward to tearing off Zhou Bai's mask right in front of them.'
Zhou Bai suddenly looked at Qian Wangsun and transmitted his voice, "Why are you staring at me?"
Qian Wangsun replied, "You look good, just taking a few more glances."
Zhou Bai responded politely, "Just making do, after all, I have to hide my identity."
The next moment, the group, with the sound of real air being torn apart, left behind a series of afterimages, rapidly advancing deeper down the corridor.
On both sides, the twisted lines on the walls, in the perspective of high-speed motion, seemed as if they had come to life.
Looking at these constantly writhing lines, Zhou Bai felt a restless sensation rise in his heart, with a power under his skin itching to rub vigorously against the ground and walls.
Zhou Bai realized something was off and immediately used his laziness points to heal.
200 laziness points quickly smoothed over his discomfort; he turned to look at the others and noticed their complexions had changed, with Song Zhen even writhing around his waist like a snake.
Zhou Bai thought to himself, "This can't go on; I have laziness points to heal myself, but they don't."
With that thought, Zhou Bai's mind commanded, and his flying sword left its sheath, slicing toward the curves on the tunnel walls.
At the same time, he shouted, "Don't look at these curves, follow me and rush through!"
Two minutes later, a group of seven rushed out of the tunnel and onto a huge platform. Zhou Bai looked up and discovered a vast underground space in front of them. Ahead was a bottomless crack, leading to an unknown destination.
'No way forward?' Zhou Bai frowned and looked at Qian Wangsun and others sitting on the ground with grim expressions, apparently stabilizing their minds with various mental methods to prevent madness.
It was clear that the corridor had troubled them significantly, and if it weren't for Zhou Bai, unaffected, helping reduce the corridor's impact, Qian Wangsun and others would be in even worse condition.
After ensuring everyone was temporarily okay, Zhou Bai surveyed the surrounding area of the platform, looking for a possible way out.
He realized he was face-to-face with a dead end. Steep cliffs were on either side of the platform, and a bottomless crack lay ahead. Looking up, it was all darkness; the top was not visible.
The cliffs had many dense, hive-like small black holes. Zhou Bai wondered if he should check out what those were.
Moments later, however, Qian Wangsun suddenly opened his eyes wide and his Primordial Spirit forced Zhou Bai aside: "Move!"
Zhou Bai reacted instantly, flashing to a position ten meters away.
He saw a white beam sweep across the place where he had just been, leaving a scorched trace on the stone platform.
Zhou Bai looked up and saw a metallic, snake-like creature over ten meters tall, slowly descending from above. Its body seemed composed of countless giant snakes tangled together.
This was Xu Dela, who had once hunted Zhou Bai.
However, he seemed much reduced from the first time he encountered Zhou Bai, lacking the previous imposing presence.
Xu Dela's numerous snake heads simultaneously flickered their tongues, eyeing Zhou Bai with malicious intent: "These are your teammates, right?"
Then, from the hive-like caves on the cliff, several human figures controlled by Xu Dela's mechanical snakes were pushed out.
They were indeed Zhou Bai's and Song Zhen's teammates.
In total, six people, excluding Song Zhen and Qin Tian, included all those captured; they could even see Liu Ruonan, who had lost a leg, with his wounds bandaged, being pushed out as well.
Zhou Bai raised an eyebrow and directly said, "Heavenly Demon, heed my command, lend me your hair."
As Zhou Bai finished his sentence, Xu Dela remained motionless, just sneering at Zhou Bai: "I've already cracked your ability. Fool! You've walked right into my trap; I'm going to show you what real terror is like."
