Chapter 3: The Dueling Arena
Recreating the process in the mental space was essentially the same as constructing a magic card. The card, now enlarged to a diameter of one meter, floated in front of Su Chengyang. Using his spiritual power, he formed a magical construct pen and began to draw the Blue-Eyes White Dragon's large, expressive eyes. The dragon's gaze was lively, as if it were a real, living creature.
The final step was crucial.
"Seal!" Su Chengyang crossed his hands, imprinting the completed Blue-Eyes White Dragon onto the magic card. The card, which had been enlarged to one meter in diameter, shrank back to its original size and floated gently in front of him. Its surface emitted a soft glow, and the image of the Blue-Eyes White Dragon was vividly etched on the front, along with its name.
Unlike Su Chengyang's other three-star magic cards, the Blue-Eyes White Dragon's name was written in green instead of blue.
Holding this card, which had consumed all his energy and focus, Su Chengyang felt a surge of pride, satisfaction, and joy. He had done it—he had created something that defied conventional logic.
"Check the card's information," Su Chengyang commanded. This was another ability granted to Magic Card Masters by the Supreme Rules, allowing them to view their own card's details but not those of others.

After reviewing the card's information, Su Chengyang couldn't help but feel a sense of awe. For a three-star monster, the Blue-Eyes White Dragon was ridiculously overpowered. With dual talents, formidable combat power, and four skills, it was a force to be reckoned with. Su Chengyang could already imagine the scene when he summoned it and unleashed its Radiant Destruction Beam.
"Finished constructing the card?" Zhang Mingyun's voice came from the next stall. Surprisingly, he seemed to know exactly what Su Chengyang had been up to. Apart from He Nuonuo, Su Chengyang hadn't told anyone about his project.
"How did you know?" Su Chengyang asked, puzzled.
"How did I know? Ha! With my brilliant mind, how could I not figure it out? And don't think our homeroom teacher didn't notice your little scheme either!" Zhang Mingyun's tone was tinged with envy. "You know why she's so lenient with you? If it were anyone else, she wouldn't have let them sneak off to the bathroom to construct a magic card during the selection!"
"How do you know she wouldn't? She's always fair to everyone," Su Chengyang retorted as he stored the Blue-Eyes White Dragon in his card holder. This was his trump card, after all.
"Deng Qilang wanted to do the same, but she scolded him, saying, 'Don't just follow others to the bathroom! Focus on preparing for the competition!'" Zhang Mingyun laughed heartily. "Old Su, you should've seen Deng Qilang's face. He was fuming! You two already don't get along, so watch out for him later."
"Whatever. Tell me more about why the teacher is so lenient with me. Is there some inside story?" Su Chengyang was more curious about why his teacher had given him special treatment.
"Old Su, don't tell me you haven't heard the news..." Zhang Mingyun's tone was exaggerated.
"What news? I'm not exactly in the loop," Su Chengyang replied, exasperated.
"Ahem, our homeroom teacher, Jiang Qingmiao, has been confirmed as the head teacher of the elite class!" Zhang Mingyun announced with flair.
"Wow!" Su Chengyang was genuinely surprised. Jiang Qingmiao was relatively young, and for her to be appointed as the head teacher of Qingbei Academy's elite class was a big deal.
"Exactly! She's clearly treating you as one of her own, giving you a chance to compete for one of the three elite class spots. You better step up your game!" Zhang Mingyun added with a grin.
"Wait a minute... How do you know so much? And that method for dotting the eyes—did the teacher tell you?" Su Chengyang suddenly realized something. He had discussed the idea of combining the Cartoon Race with the Dragon Race with He Nuonuo and even subtly asked Jiang Qingmiao for advice after failing the previous night. But neither had provided a solution. Zhang Mingyun's offhand suggestion had been too convenient.
"Old Su, stop overthinking it! This isn't some spy movie! And even if she did help you, so what? Deng Qilang and the others have all had their cards modified and improved by powerful Magic Card Masters from their families. If the teacher helped you, it's only fair!" Zhang Mingyun rambled on.
Su Chengyang was now certain. It had to be the teacher's method. Otherwise, Zhang Mingyun wouldn't have bothered explaining so much. He would've just said something like, "Impressed? Call me Daddy!"
"Phew." Su Chengyang exhaled deeply. While he felt a warm gratitude toward his teacher, he also sensed the weight of her expectations. He couldn't let her down.
"Old Su, why so quiet? Got anything to say?" Zhang Mingyun asked.
"Let's go."
"Go where?"
"Back to where we're supposed to be."
"The dueling arena!"
"Whoa, you go ahead. I, the top-ranked student in our class, must make a grand entrance!"
A few seconds later, the door to the men's restroom swung open. Two figures stepped out simultaneously. Ahead of them, the path led to a brightly lit exit, where the sounds of clashing magic card monsters and roaring cheers echoed.
