Champion Of Lust: Gods Conquer's Harem Paradise!

Chapter 194: Race With Time. 1

Pyris sat at his desk, the soft hum of magic technology vibrating beneath his fingertips. He stared at the message that had just come through on his communication device—a confirmation from Dracula II himself.

The vampire emperor had finally agreed. Pyris allowed himself a brief moment of satisfaction.

He had known the Blood Chalice would be the key to swaying the emperor, but now it was official. Dracula had given him the go-ahead to proceed with the ARGO VRMMORPG launch in the Vampire Empire, and with it, the business disputes that Silas had stirred up would quiet—for now.

A smile tugged at his lips. This project wasn't just his. It was his mother's grand vision, and he had been fortunate enough to play a role in it. But now, he was the one leading it to the finish line, ensuring it would become a cornerstone of Obsidian Tech's legacy.

As he savored the small victory, Suzie, still basking in the afterglow of their earlier passionate moment, rested her head against his chest, her arms wrapped around him possessively.

Her soft sigh as she nuzzled into his warmth stirred something in him.

"You won't rest, will you?" she murmured, her voice muffled by his shirt as her fingers traced lazy circles on his neck. Her tone was filled with admiration, though laced with a small hint of exasperation.

Pyris chuckled, his fingers trailing gently along her back. "Rest?" he teased. "You should know by now, Suzie, I'm not exactly the resting type. There's always something to be done."

Suzie lifted her head, gazing up at him with a knowing smile. "You'd think after saving our entire empire's business dealings in the Vampire Empire, you'd allow yourself at least a nap. But no, Pyris the Great has to run around saving the world."

He smirked, brushing a lock of her hair behind her ear. "Nap? Hero? That sounds foreign to me. But with some extra help," he glanced meaningfully at her, "and loved ones surrounding me, everything all doable."

Suzie blushed, her lips curving into a smile as she nestled closer.

The warmth of his words filled her, but she wasn't fooled by the sentiment. Pyris would never stop. His drive, his need to push forward, was what made him who he was.

For a moment, Pyris let himself enjoy the quiet intimacy. Suzie's head on his chest, the way her fingers tapped idly on his shoulder.

"Alright, enough lounging." Pyris kissed Suzie lightly on the forehead before slipping out of her embrace, leaving her to watch him with a soft, bemused smile. "I need to make sure everything's set for the Vampire Empire launch. Can't have any hiccups now that Dracula's onboard."

He picked up his communication crystal and activated the connection to Esmeralda. The smooth flow of magic buzzed in the air, and within seconds, the vice CEO's face appeared in front of him, her eyes sharp and focused, as always.

"Ah, there he is, the man who just talked Dracula himself into submission," Esmeralda said, a playful smirk tugging at her lips. Her posture was relaxed, but the glimmer in her eyes showed she was ready to get to work. "I must say, boss, I didn't think it was possible to convince Dracula, of all people, to cooperate without sacrificing a limb or two."

Pyris chuckled, leaning back in his chair. "Turns out all he needed was a little... persuasion. The Blood Chalice did most of the talking, though."

Esmeralda raised an eyebrow. "That Chalice better be worth the trouble, or else I'll start prepping for war. But I assume you're calling me for more than just a pat on the back?"

"Right as always." Pyris' voice dropped slightly, businesslike now. "The Vampire Empire is stabilizing for the moment, thanks to the emperor. I need you to spearhead the final preparations there. With the ARGO launch set to happen across all the empires, we can't afford to let anything slip through the cracks."

Esmeralda nodded, her sharp demeanor sliding into place. "Got it. I'll tighten the security over there and make sure the launch goes off without a hitch. Lizzie and I have been overseeing the magical infrastructure—everything from the VR nodes to the security wards—and we've set up countermeasures in case Silas or anyone else decides to make trouble."

Pyris's eyes glimmered with approval. "Perfect. The royals and VIPs in the all Empires will be attending the launch in person, but it's the Vampire Empire that's the real wildcard. Keep things in line, and report any disturbances immediately."

Esmeralda smirked. "You really think anyone's going to make a move with Dracula backing you? His nobles are terrified of him. If anything happens, they'll be too busy wetting themselves to make much trouble."

Pyris chuckled. "True. But even so, let's not take any chances."

"I'll handle it. Don't worry, Pyris," she said, her eyes gleaming with that no-nonsense edge. "I'll make sure the Vampire Empire is as smooth as dragon glass when the launch hits. You just focus on whatever else you have planned."

"Thanks, Esmeralda. I'll leave it in your hands." Pyris ended the call, feeling more at ease knowing she was on top of things.

Suzie watched him from the sofa, an amused smile still on her lips. "You know, for someone who doesn't take naps, you sure act like someone who should be napping."

Pyris grinned, turning to face her. "Why nap when there's so much to do?"

"Is that your motto or something?" she teased, standing up and stretching.

"No, just a fact of life." Pyris smiled as he walked over to her, he said teasingly "You should know better than anyone. How many nights have we spent working until sunrise?"

Suzie blushed, her mind clearly wandering back to a few of those late nights that involved far more than just work. "A few… memorable ones."

Pyris laughed softly, pulling her into a light hug before stepping back. "I have to head out soon. The next stop is the Abyssal Labyrinth. Time to secure the Blood Chalice."

Suzie's playful demeanor vanished for a moment, replaced with concern. "The Abyssal Labyrinth... Pyris, that place is dangerous. Even you can't afford to take it lightly."

"I know." Pyris' eyes grew serious, a fire burning behind them. "But it has to be done. The Blood Chalice is the key to keeping Dracula on our side, and I won't let Silas or anyone else ruin the empire my mother built."

Suzie rested her hand on his chest, her fingers tracing the lines of his shirt. "Just be careful, okay? I'd hate to lose you right after we finally got some time together just srafter coming back."

Pyris kissed her forehead gently. " And that's something worthy working for. I'll be back before you know it. Besides, I've got Mira with me. There's nothing I can't handle."

She sighed, knowing there was no changing his mind. "Fine. But if you come back with more than a few bruises, I'll make sure your next 'nap' involves a lot less sleep."

Pyris laughed, stepping back and giving her a playful wink. "I'll hold you to that."

The sun was beginning to dip below the horizon, casting long shadows through the office windows. It was time to prepare for the night ahead. The Abyssal Labyrinth awaited him, and so did the key to securing the future of the Obsidian Empire.

For now, though, Pyris allowed himself to enjoy this moment of quiet. The storm was coming, but he was ready for it.
