Kai listened to the maniacal conversation between the three Characters and nodded to himself.

For the next tale, he had struggled a lot.

There were just too many candidates for him to be devoured.

Kai still believed in his over thirteen hundred-year-old oath of devouring scientists' tales, creating a grand Multiverse Interdependency unique to him.

In those times, while talking to Meg, Kai had vowed to devour those tales.

Rintaro Okabe and Orochimaru were among those scientists; two Characters devouring whose tales Kai never regretted.

Included in the rest of the list, but not limited to, were Mayuri, Kisuke, and Aizen from Bleach Random World. Also, Reed Richards and Tony Stark from Marvel Random World, Senku Ishigami from Dr. Stone Random World, Lloyd Asplund from Code Geass Random World, etc.

However, much had changed since then, to say the least.

The Tales of Beedle the Bard wasn't a mere Book anymore, but it had evolved into a Grimoire.

The 5-leafed Grimoire could call out as many Characters as Kai wanted without restricting their capabilities with Stats.

The monstrosity of such transformation Kai had already tested by using Cersei, Petyr, Rintaro, and Orochimaru as the main force to fight against a 12th-floor monster like Black Ghost.

But this ridiculous, and unhinged, use of Characters had come at a cost.

The Tales of Beedle the Bard wasn't a Growth-type Item anymore.

Ultimately, Kai settled on the Bleach Random World.

First, unlike other Scientists, the Characters from the Bleach Random World were innately powerful. That they were also Scientists was just a bonus; a big one.

Second, they were a touch more suited to the Multiverse Setting.

Tony Stark might be a great engineer, building machines that could topple logic.

However, with hundreds of years at hand, any half-decent Contestant, with a scientific background, could also attempt such feats.

On the other hand, there were Bleach's Captain-level figures.

In contrast to the likes of Tony Stark, they dealt with Spirituality, Mana, and Life — the three core components of the Primordial Tower and the Systems that governed it.

Making this choice wasn't hard for Kai, then. What did become a headache was choosing between the three Characters of the Bleach Random World.

After thinking over it for a few days, and that was saying something given the Ad Infinitum, Kai ultimately decided to go with Mayuri.

The reasoning behind it was simple, even though it took Kai time to confirm it.

The Tales of Beedle the Bard had only three slots left, which, for now, Kai had allotted to Mayuri, Kisuke, and Aizen. However, using the Ad Infinitum and the Lucky Intuitions, he had found a trickery in the Grimoire.

With the Storm Pirates numbering five tales and Petyr, Cersei, Rintaro, and Orochimaru marking the other four, the next tale Kai would devour would be the tenth.

But, there was no way to tell if there was any difference in the degree of completion between devouring the 10th tale and the 12th tale.

So, playing it safe, Kai decided to keep Aizen for the last, going for Mayuri first.

There was one more reason —

— Mayuri Kurotsuchi suited Kai's personality.

Presently,

The only thing keeping the Hashiras from launching themselves at the three new arrivals was Kagaya's raised hand.

With a touch of graveness in his tone, the leader asked, "What children are they talking about?"

Kai opened his eyes and matched Kagaya's stare.

He didn't answer, though.

Kagaya's question was something the AI had already predicted before Kai even came to the Verse Fusion Random World.

Those three mad Scientists were unknowingly talking about children of three different species.

The children Kai wanted to talk about belonged to neither of those categories.

He wanted to use Kagaya's question to show one of his greatest trump cards, dealing the mightiest blow to the consciousness of the Demon Slayer Corps' leader and the Hashiras.

A silver-colored mist gently seeped out from Kai, shocking everyone.

Even Shinobu's eyes widened at this sight, for this was something Kai had never mentioned to her.

Bone and Soul-chilling cold blasted right into all, including Kai's followers.

Rintaro turned around and just ran in the opposite direction.

Petyr still remembered the first petrification, making him stir.

Cersei remembered her first involuntarily returning to the Book, too. She just clenched her jaw and closed her eyes, the unhappy memory of powerlessness itching her bones.

Red Sun, Meg, Spawn, and Moraine just lowered their heads. They didn't want to attract the ire of this thirteen hundred-year-old magical creature, either.

Only Kai and Black looked at the silver mist with the gentlest gaze.

Then, under the stunned sight of all, the mist churned, taking the shape of three girls.

"Oi, Oi, Oi," the Sound Hashira mumbled, gobsmacked. "Is this your Blood Demon Art?!"

The bronze-armored sentry standing outside was supposed to sit opposite him, but the Sound Hashira didn't mind that. What he did mind was the absurd phenomenon taking place right in front of him. Because…

… his shoulders were becoming heavy and his knees were shaking.

Little by little, the three girls finally lost all misty appearance.

Horror!

Raw horror!!

The Space Devourer planted her closed eye on Kagaya.

The Time Devourer looked at Hashiras with her putrid, yellow eyes.

The Life Devourer threw her hands inside the pockets of her short skirt and began chewing a non-existent gum.

Kai's lips twitched.

The Wind Hashira vomited.

The Serpent Hashira passed out.

The Love Hashira had lost her sight.

The Sound Hashira's knees finally gave out, striking the floor.

The Water and Mist Hashiras' faces went white, their teeth chattering.

Only the Stone Hashira remained seated, but instead of tears, his eyes were letting out blood.

The terror of Three-Headed Devourer was nothing less than the Demon King descending in this Hall.

Kai put a hand on Kagaya's back, canceling Selene's Perception.

"Black," he gestured with his chin toward the girls. "If you please."

Black got up, approached the girls, and walked right through them, silver mist puffing here and there before melting into the girls once again.

Kagaya's brows rose. This?!

Not only Kagaya, though, from the side, Mayuri's gaze was dead set on the girls, too.

By now, he had been sent back to the Grimoire a dozen times by Selene. Still, the madness within him couldn't help but want these girls for himself. The Experiments he could do on them…

Mayuri licked his lips.

"Their state is special," Kai told Kagaya and the Hashiras, who were regaining their senses, Demon Slayer Marks appearing on their faces. "Forgive me for not warning you."

"Fuck you!" the Wind Hashira roared, covered in coiling wind marks. He was just an inch away from using Bankai.

Kai ignored the curse, looked at Kagaya, and said only one sentence for which he had prepared this drama.

This one sentence won over the Hashiras.

This one sentence won over Kagaya Ubuyashiki.

This one sentence won over the hope the Demon Slayers had been carrying for hundreds of years.

"I can take the battle to Muzan right now," Kai said gently. "But —

"— wouldn't it feel good doing it yourself?"
