Chapter 240: Chapter 240: Batman is Treated So Well!
[OUTSIDE WORLD]
"I'm sorry!"
"The treaty you proposed is too harsh, and it will cause great damage to human development."
"What's more, we don't believe you yet. What proof do you have that what you said is true?"
The top human leaders in the world of One Punch Man rightfully rejected Psykos' proposal and questioned Lucas and Psykos' motives.
"See? I knew they wouldn't agree." Psykos shrugged at Lucas, saying that she had expected this reaction.
The human leaders in the One Punch World looked serious. "We are acting for the good of humanity!"
Psykos said disdainfully, "Stop with the act! The reason you reject this is because the real crisis won't break out during your lifetime. 'Why worry about the flood after I'm dead?' is what you're really thinking. Stop pretending you care about humanity."
After a pause, Psykos said sarcastically, "And you're all making your little calculations, thinking that even if the real crisis comes, those of you who are wealthy or powerful can secure precious places to survive, right?"
"But I'm telling you, your calculations are completely wrong. If this planet collapses, you have nowhere to go. Don't think that the alien technology that appeared recently will allow your descendants to complete interstellar migration."
"I can see the future, and I can tell you with certainty that the interstellar migration plan you've prepared is doomed to fail. Of course, I will also stop you, because your so-called migration plan only saves a small portion of people."
Lucas sighed, "This is bad enough! But I've seen plenty of human nature at its worst, so I'm not surprised. Let me change your minds—since you keep saying that everything you do is for humanity's sake, then you should actually act like it from now on!"
"Divine Mind Manipulation [Shin'i Kaisha]!"
Lucas's thoughts about what was truly best for the people were imprinted on the minds of the human leaders. They immediately changed their perspective and decided to make adjustments for the future of the entire human race.
Lucas released a powerful spiritual force, communicated with the will of the Earth, and coordinated the relationship between the two sides.
"You can actually communicate with the will of the Earth?" Psykos was shocked. She knew better than anyone the power of the Earth's will.
An ordinary person without any special traits could become a Dragon-level monster comparable to an S-class hero with the help of the Earth's will. If the will of the Earth were considered a monster, it would undoubtedly be a God-level threat capable of destroying humanity, perhaps even beyond God-level!
"This is nothing," Lucas smiled, his expression calm. "Don't talk about the will of a planet. Destroying a planet would be nothing to me."
It was a pity that this wasn't the Marvel world, and the power of the Infinity Stones to transform reality had been severely weakened here. Otherwise, Lucas could have even created an Earth 2 for them.
[DC WORLD]
Lucas didn't stay in the One Punch world for long because the drastic world transformation beginning there wasn't particularly attractive to him. After completing his objectives, Lucas returned to the DC world.
The last time he left had been in a hurry, and he'd even forgotten to leave behind someone to monitor this world. Afterward, Lucas realized it wasn't a problem to have resurrected Thomas Wayne, as long as he wasn't allowed to meet Batman.
As long as Thomas Wayne didn't meet Batman, Lucas could continue to help Batman, treat his nearly terminal paranoia, and prevent him from having an "Batman who laugh" incident someday.
[GOTHAM CITY]
Looking at the chaotic streets with cops and gangsters in a shootout, Lucas showed a stunned expression. Had Gotham City welcomed another day of "peace"?
Moving instantly, Lucas found Catwoman, whom he had befriended earlier, and asked what had happened in Gotham City and if Batman was okay.
Catwoman explained, "Batman was defeated by a super villain named Bane, and now Gotham City is in chaos. Fortunately, some gangs are still maintaining order; otherwise, the whole city would be in complete disarray."
[CHAT GROUP]
Tokiomi Tohsaka: "Did I hear that right? The gangs are the ones maintaining order?"
Lucas: "Classic Gotham City is no joke. The gangs are the enforcers and defenders here."
Thomas Wayne: "Group Leader, Bruce has been defeated. Hurry and find him—I'm afraid he might die if we delay!"
Lucas: "Don't worry, Batman isn't so easy to kill. I've found him. He's receiving treatment in Arkham. It's quite ironic, actually. I never expected Batman to be thrown into Arkham one day."
Lucas teleported from the outside world and appeared in a ward of Arkham Asylum, where he saw Bruce being attended to.
Thomas Wayne: "What happened to Bruce? He looks completely paralyzed!"
Lucas: "If I'm not mistaken, the super-villain Bane broke his spine. But don't worry, Batman never follows logic. Even if he were beaten to the point where only one cell remained, he could still recover through sheer willpower."
Space Overlord Boros: "I have a bad feeling that Batman's recovery ability isn't as unreasonable as Saitama's, right?"
Lucas: "Yeah! Batman is just a mortal person, but his recovery ability is incredible. Even sleeping only one hour a day, he can be full of energy, and he can recover from a fatal injury in just a few days. To be honest, even you might not have this kind of ability!"
Senju Tobirama: "Power without reason, power without explanation?"
Lucas: "Exactly! As far as Batman's current injury is concerned, it's the kind that ordinary people couldn't recover from in a lifetime. But for him, he can recover in a few days, and it might even make him stronger than before."
Uchiha Madara: "Indeed! I can sense the unscientific life force within him that is speeding up the healing of his wounds."
Thomas Wayne: "Group Leader, can you speed up the process? Seeing Bruce like this is heartbreaking."
Lucas: "Okay! I'm not interested in watching Batman's life on a hospital bed either. I'll help him recover quickly."
Just as Lucas was about to treat Batman, the Joker walked in and said cheerfully, "Bruce, I'm here to see you again!"
Lucas paused and decided to remain a qualified spectator.
Batman gave the Joker a cold look, then turned his head away, refusing to look at him.
"La~ Batman, don't be so cold to me, okay?" The Joker said with a face of resentment. "It's not because of me that you ended up like this. It's clearly because you couldn't control your lower body."
Batman's eyelids twitched as he angrily said, "Shut up!"
The Joker said proudly, "Did I hit a sore spot? Liking women is your weakness. If your choice had been me—"
Batman interrupted with a dark face, "I'd rather die!"
The Joker said solemnly, "Bruce, a man who pays too much attention to appearance is superficial. Our spirit is the same—we're a match made in heaven. Why don't you come and learn about my spirit?"
Batman sneered, "I don't want to be a lunatic like you! Why are you still in Arkham if you're not planning some evil?"
The Joker said affectionately, "Of course it's because of you!"
Batman looked at the Joker expressionlessly, and the Joker said helplessly, "Okay! I admit that I want to get out of here, but I can't do it!"
The Joker suddenly changed his expression and said shyly, "This must be the intention of fate, letting us take advantage of this time to develop our relationship. From now on, I will be by your side every day. Aren't you happy?"
"Happy!" The Joker asked and answered his own question, responding joyfully to Batman, clearly having a great time.
Batman felt that his whole life had taken a dark turn—even while seriously injured, he had to face the Joker's harassment.
[CHAT GROUP]
Howard Stark: "Group Leader, what happened with Batman not controlling his lower body?"
Sebastian Shaw: "I'm also curious. Is that why he was defeated by the super-villain?"
Lucas: "Maybe! Before Batman fought Bane, he spent all night with a woman named Miranda. Maybe it was the lack of energy from staying up too long, or decreased physical function due to excessive fatigue... Anyway, he was defeated in the next battle!"
Howard Stark: "Isn't it said that Batman only needs one hour of sleep a day to be full of energy? It seems that wasn't enough in this case."
Sebastian Shaw: "Physical exertion affecting his condition makes sense."
Thomas Wayne: "Could that woman have drugged Bruce?"
Lucas: "It's possible! Otherwise, her pregnancy would be hard to explain!"
Thomas Wayne: "She's pregnant? Then she must be innocent."
Lucas: "You're selling out your own son?"
Thomas Wayne: "What does it matter? Bruce won't die anyway. Let him suffer a little—he'll remember the lesson! He's obviously a playboy, and he doesn't even have children yet. It's truly outrageous."
Lucas: "Let him have a long memory? I'm afraid that's very difficult. I gave him electric shocks for so long and it didn't cure him."
Thomas Wayne: "Group Leader, didn't you seal all the super villains in Arkham? Could it be that Bane wasn't there the last time you came to Arkham?"
Lucas: "Maybe! Batman's opponents are a bunch of lunatics, and I'm not interested in remembering them all. They won't kill your son anyway, so why are you so worried? Didn't you see that even when Bane defeated Batman, he didn't kill him?"
Howard Stark: "True! A group of opponents who don't kill him, plus an unreasonable recovery ability—Batman is treated so well!"
