Chapter 45: Chapter 45: Strength Changes Mentality

Sword God Ryuma: "Raftel? What island is that?" [*Rafter/Laugh Tale was named by Roger]

Pirate King Roger: "It's an island at the end of the New World"

Sword God Ryuma: "If I recall correctly, There is a legend of the last island, one said to hold the ultimate secret of the world. Does it truly exist?"

Pirate King Roger: "Of course, it exists! And we were the first to find it."

Whitebeard: "Ryuma, how do you know about the Legend of the Last island? As far as I know, Wano Country has always been a closed nation."

Sword God Ryuma: "Wano closed itself off from the world? As expected, the Kozuki Clan continued their foolish decision-making long after my time."

Pirate King Roger: "Wait, the Kozuki Clan? You think they were idiots? Ryuma, are you sure you're from Wano Country? The Kozuki Clan is the ruling family, the ones everyone in Wano reveres!"

Sword God Ryuma: "At one time, I admired them too. But after I left Wano and saw the world, my perspective changed."

A pause followed before he continued, his tone filled with the weight of his experiences.

Sword God Ryuma: "Eventually, I came to realize that I alone could conquer the entire Wano Country if I so desired. That was the moment I stopped idolizing its rulers."

Lucas: "Ah, I see. Strength changes mentality. It's natural—once someone surpasses those they once admired, their perspective shifts."

Sword God Ryuma: "It's not just about strength. It's also about vision. The policy of isolation was enforced after my death, but even in my time, I opposed it. I fought to keep Wano open to the world. I failed."

Pirate King Roger: "So the isolation of Wano… it wasn't always that way? I never knew that."

Sword God Ryuma: "Few would. The problem started when rumors spread across the sea that Wano was the Land of Gold. This attracted countless pirates and invaders. I left Wano to hone my swordsmanship, but I constantly returned to slay those who dared trespass."

Sword God Ryuma: "However, the Kozuki Clan and I had very different opinions on how to solve Wano's problems. I believed Wano needed to open itself to the world and establish its own presence. The Kozuki Clan believed that sealing Wano off was the only way to protect it."

Sword God Ryuma: "Despite my strength—despite slaying dragons, pirates, and invaders—I couldn't change the path Wano ultimately took."

His words carried regret, but also a sense of bitter inevitability.

Pirate King Roger: "Don't be too hard on yourself. A man named Kozuki Oden tried to follow your will."

Sword God Ryuma: "Did he succeed?"

Pirate King Roger: "Well... I died before I could see how it all turned out."

Whitebeard:"He failed. Wano is now ruled by a tyrant, and the Kozuki Clan has fallen."

Pirate King Roger: "WHAT?! Impossible! Oden was incredibly strong! How could he lose?!"

Whitebeard: "I'm not entirely sure of the details, but Oden was defeated. The current ruler of Wano is Kurozumi Orochi, and the Beasts Pirates have turned the land into a weapons factory."

Sword God Ryuma : "Hmph. I knew it. Isolation leads to stagnation. A closed nation will inevitably become weak and vulnerable to invasion."

Pirate King Roger: "Kaido? Kaido the Beast took over Wano?! That brute? There's no way he could have killed Oden! @Lucas, you seem to know everything. What really happened?"

Lucas: "I do know what happen."

Pirate King Roger: "I figured as much. You always seem to have all the answers."

Sword God Ryuma: "Can you explain it? I'm very curious."

Lucas: "It's a long story…"

Ding! Sword God Ryuma has sent an exclusive red envelope: [Observation Haki – Advanced] to group leader Lucas!

Lucas smirked. "Now that's what I call a well-mannered samurai."

After receiving and integrating the red envelope, he began his explanation.

"The Kurozumi Clan was once one of Wano's powerful Daimyo families, second only to the Kozuki Clan. However, their ambition led them to ruin. When they failed to seize the title of Shogun, they were stripped of power, and their members were persecuted throughout Wano."

Sword God Ryuma: "The Kurozumi Clan? I remember them. They were always hungry for power but lacked true strength. What was their crime?"

Lucas: "They tried to claim the Shogunate. And they failed."

Sword God Ryuma: "Hah! Predictable. A family full of weaklings, relying on schemes instead of strength. But how did they return to power?"

Lucas: "Though the Kurozumi Clan had fallen, some of its members were… persistent. Two in particular: Kurozumi Orochi and two Devil Fruit users—one with the Barrier-Barrier Fruit and another with the Mimic-Mimic Fruit."

Whitebeard: "Barrier-Barrier Fruit and Mimic-Mimic Fruit? That sounds familiar…"

Pirate King Roger: "When did you hear of them?"

Whitebeard: "Back in my Rocks Pirates days. I met users of those very abilities. I remember their last names were Kurozumi. I never thought much of them at the time. But how did they manage to take over Wano?"

Lucas: "Kurozumi Orochi aligned himself with Kaido of the Beasts Pirates. With Kaido's brute force backing him, he was able to manipulate events within Wano's political sphere."

Lucas: "The user of the Mimic-Mimic Fruit transformed into the former Shogun—Kozuki Sukiyaki, Oden's father—and publicly passed the title of Shogun to Kurozumi Orochi."
