Chapter 56: Chapter 56 Golden Lion: Fortunately I didn’t join the Marine!

Lucas smirked

Shiki: "No problem! Golden Lion, I received your reward. Now, can you give me your sword skills?"

Golden Lion Shiki: "Wait, I haven't sent you mind yet? Shihahahaha…. Well here, keep them!"

The familiar notification echoed in Lucas's mind.

"Ding! Golden Lion Shiki sent an exclusive red envelope [Swordsmanship - Great] to group leader Lucas."

A wave of information flooded Lucas's consciousness as he absorbed the techniques of Shiki Swordsmanship.

He felt the essence of Shiki's unique swordsmanship integrate seamlessly into his own. With a slight stomp of his foot, the ground beneath him trembled, and two long swords made of solidified earth rose into his hands, their edges glinting menacingly under the sunlight.

"Come on, Pirate Hunter. Let me teach you a thing or two about swordsmanship," Lucas said with a confident grin. "By the way, this is a favor from Golden Lion Shiki himself. He wanted me to pass this on to you."

Without hesitation, he tossed the famed blade Shusui toward Zoro. "I'll lend you this sword for now. Try not to break it. After all, you don't have Haki yet, which means you can't protect the blade properly."

Zoro caught Shusui mid-air, the weight of the legendary weapon familiar yet exhilarating in his grasp. A fierce gleam flashed in his eyes as he once again wielded three swords, gripping Wado Ichimonji between his teeth. His fighting spirit ignited like a roaring flame.

"Golden Lion Shiki?" Zoro muttered, narrowing his sharp eyes at Lucas. "You mean that legendary pirate our captain defeated?"

Zoro smirked, his stance shifting as he prepared to attack. "Why would he be so generous as to have you teach me?"

In an instant, he lunged forward, slashing with incredible speed.

Lucas, unfazed, raised his earthen swords and met the attack head-on. The clash echoed through the air, sending sparks flying. Despite Zoro's fierce assault, Lucas blocked effortlessly, his movements fluid and precise.

"Because," Lucas said casually, as he effortlessly deflected Zoro's blade, "he believes his defeat was unfair. He wasn't beaten by you."

With a slight twist of his wrist, Lucas channeled an overwhelming force through his swords, sending Zoro staggering backward.

"He asked me to use his swordsmanship to prove to him that you're no match for him!" Lucas declared, his tone laced with amusement.

Zoro gritted his teeth, his muscles tensed as he steadied himself. He refused to back down. With newfound determination, he launched another attack, striking with relentless speed and force. But Lucas remained a step ahead, his superior skill evident as he parried each blow effortlessly.

It was almost unfair.

Lucas handled Zoro like an experienced master dealing with an overeager disciple. No matter how much force Zoro put behind his attacks, Lucas countered each one with minimal effort, as if toying with him. The difference in skill was undeniable.

After several more exchanges, Lucas finally disengaged, stepping back with a smirk. "You've improved, but you still have a long way to go before you can even dream of surpassing me."

Zoro clenched his fists, frustration evident on his face. But deep down, he knew Lucas was right. He was too weak now, to weak to truly help achieve his captain dream. But he will not give up.

No… He will never give up.

Lucas, having gained the swordsmanship of Ryuma and some of the memories ingrained in the skill itself, knew what it took to reach the pinnacle of the blade.

But this is not for him, the system has help him with a truly overpower cheat.

Lucas stayed at Mihawk for a few days. After all, Roger, Whitebeard, and Golden Lion all wanted Lucas to compete with Hawkeye with their swordsmanship.

They are all seniors of Mihawk. They were conceited when they were alive, and it was impossible for them to compete with Mihawk. Now that they have Lucas as a substitute, and their competitive spirit has come up again.

A few days passed.

Mihawk, the current world's strongest swordsman, observed Lucas with intrigue. "Golden Lion Shiki's Lion Style Swordsmanship, Roger the Pirate King's ultimate technique, Divine Departure, Whitebeard's raw power-based swordsmanship, Ryuma the Swordsman's lightning-fast Slash... You have truly brought me many surprises."

His usually stoic expression softened slightly, revealing a rare glimpse of genuine emotion.

For the first time in years, Mihawk felt something stir within him—excitement. A challenge. A true test of his swordsmanship.

Having encountered and adapted to so many refined techniques, Mihawk felt his own swordsmanship evolve. He had been undefeated for years, standing at the peak of the sword world. Yet, Lucas's presence made him feel as though he was once again making strides forward.

Lucas shook his head, a faint smile on his lips. "You should have fought Whitebeard back in the day. You two followed similar paths."

Mihawk raised an eyebrow.

Indeed, Mihawk's swordsmanship revolved around sheer power. The massive black blade in his hand, Yoru, was a testament to that. The weight, the length—it was designed for devastating strikes. Unlike the speed-oriented slash techniques of Ryuma, Mihawk's style revolved around overwhelming force. His swordsmanship was not about finesse but about pure destructive capability, honed to perfection.

Ryuma, the legendary Sword God, had wielded the world's most refined Slash—a technique that struck like lightning, swift and precise.

Mihawk, the world's greatest swordsman of today, wielded the world's most devastating slash—a force capable of cutting mountains in half.

Lucas glanced at Zoro, who was still gripping Shusui reluctantly. "Give it back."

Zoro clicked his tongue but returned the famed blade. Lucas took to the skies with a powerful leap, leaving behind Mihawk, Zoro, and the others.

Just as he ascended, his Den Den Mushi rang.

"Bulu…Bulu….Bulu!"

Lucas retrieved it and answered. "Lucas here."

Marco's voice came through the line. "The Marine's Black Arm Zephyr is here. He specifically asked for you."

Lucas raised an eyebrow in mild surprise. "Really? Well, treat him well. Let him wait patiently—I'll be back soon."

He ended the call and quickened his pace, slicing through the skies at an even greater speed.

Meanwhile, within the chat group, old acquaintances of Zephyr were engaged in lively discussion.

Pirate King Roger: "That old warhorse, Zephyr, actually came to find you? Looks like he's made up his mind to leave the Marine."

Golden Lion Shiki: "Shihahaha! Good thing I never joined the Marine. Choosing to be a pirate was the smartest decision I ever made!"

Whitebeard: "Really now? With your personality, Golden Lion, have you ever seriously considered being a marine?"

Golden Lion Shiki:"Of course not! But I did have the talent for it. Back then, an old marine saw my greatness and kept trying to convince me to join."

Pirate King Roger: "And in the end, you refused?"

Golden Lion Shiki: "I was almost fooled, but luckily, I was smart enough to go check out the Marine base for myself."

Lucas: "And then?"

Golden Lion Shiki: "Then I realized being a marine meant following orders, listening to superiors, and doing what I was told. I'm not cut out for that! So, I told them to shove it and walked away. Shihahaha!"
