Chat Group: Traits, Gacha, and Crossovers

Chapter 114: NEW MISSION

— — — — — —

[NEW MISSION!!!!!!]

[Client: Will of the World – "World-0"]

[Mission Location: Earth in World-1 and World-2]

[Mission Brief: After observing a new kind of potential in the individual named "Fujiwara Chika," the World-0 decided to try triggering a global evolution by introducing a few variables. So, it searched the Void and found two other world wills willing to merge with it…]

[Mission Objective: Travel to the Earths in World-1 and World-2, build 100% emotional bonds with the chosen protagonists, and use that connection to initiate a fusion between those worlds and World-0.]

[Reward: 20,000 Chat Group Points]

[Mission Restrictions: Do not cause more than 30% of the population on either Earth to die. Do not damage more than 10% of either Earth's planetary body.]

[Client's Note: Preliminary agreement has already been reached with the Will of World-1 and World-2. They'll provide some help during the mission.]

[Chat Group System Note: This task has been designated exclusively for the group members'『Ordinary Human』and 『Earth's Cancer』.]

『Earth's Cancer』: Noooooooooooo

『Earth's Cancer』: Why is this happening to me!!!!

『Earth's Cancer』: (Screaming internally.jpg)

After reading through the mission details, Chika let out a heartfelt wail in the chat group.

And really, it was easy to understand why she was freaking out.

Every time the chat group had previously dealt with a "World Will" capable of issuing missions through the system, things never went smoothly. In fact, the results were always straight-up nightmares.

First World: They pulled some mystery virus out of the Void, triggered a global zombie apocalypse, and out of billions of people, only nine survived in the end.

Second World: Without any warning, Gwen's "home world" got replaced. Then the mysterious, supposedly generous client finally dropped two compensation missions. And even then, they didn't tell Gwen how to get back to Earth-65—they just told her to "figure it out."

Gwen missed her home, family, and friends every single day, but all she could do was pretend she was okay. Still, everyone could tell she wasn't doing well.

Third World: Took the bait of the Evil God of Lust lurking in the Void. The god's influence ended up corrupting the entire world's laws of reality. It was only thanks to the Goddess's resurrection and the sprouting of a new World Tree that they managed to break free from the corruption at all.

Conclusion? These entities might not be great at fixing problems, but they're absolute pros at causing them.

Just reading about other people's disasters had already been scary enough. Now that it was her world on the chopping block, could Chika possibly stay calm?

Merging with two worlds from the Void? What the Hell is even that?

---

『Catwoman』: Try looking at the bright side—at least the client didn't go anonymous this time?

『Earth's Cancer』: That's only because they specifically mentioned me in the mission description! What's the point of staying anonymous after that?!

『Earth's Cancer』: And come on, "World-0, World-1, World-2"… those are totally placeholder names they slapped on after deciding they wanted to mash up the worlds together, right?!

『Lady Avalon』: …Yeah, it really does seem like that.

『Ghost Spider』: Worst case, just come crash at any of our worlds for a while?

『Earth's Cancer』: …No, forget it.

She glanced over at her sisters, Toyomi and Moeha, who had no idea that a symbolic "DANGER" sign had just been stamped on their world.

Then she thought about the rest of her family and friends. With a heavy sigh, Chika made up her mind.

『Earth's Cancer』: Until things actually reach the point of no return, I'll stay here and do what I can.

『Earth's Cancer』: I know compared to this kind of world-ending threat, my power might be like trying to stop a tank with a toothpick… but I do have the Tenseigan, spiritual energy, and the gene lock. Worst-case scenario, I can still protect more people than your average civilian.

『Ordinary Human』: Maybe it won't be as bad as you think.

『Earth's Cancer』: Mr. Veyron … ╥﹏╥

Not just in the chat group—Chika was looking at Veyron with teary, puppy-dog eyes in real life too. He was, after all, the only backup officially assigned to help with this whole mess.

『Ordinary Human』: Just think about it logically—those other times? The world will or whoever was in charge only came to the chat group after they already messed things up and needed someone to clean up their disaster.

『Ordinary Human』:This time, they're asking for help before everything goes off the rails.

『Ordinary Human』: Just considering the 'fusing with the other two worlds' part. The actual fusion won't even start unless we complete the bond-building detail first.

『Earth's Cancer』: Huh... that kind of makes sense.

『Earth's Cancer』: Wait—does that mean if we don't complete the bond with the other two worlds, the fusion won't happen?

『Lady Avalon』: That's one possibility. Another is: screw the bonding, just brute-force the fusion and pray for a miracle.

『Earth's Cancer』: …Yeah, let's stick to bonding then.

Thinking about those world wills, Chika's lips twitched.

Yeah... maybe it's best not to expect anything from these so-called "world wills."

"..."

"…Did something... happen?" x2

The whole exchange had mostly taken place in the group chat, but Chika's visible panic and sighing were pretty obvious to her sisters.

"Right now... it's hard to say if it's a disaster or a blessing in disguise," Veyron replied. "It depends on how things develop from here."

"Let's just hope that one takes it easy," Chika muttered, glancing toward the sky.

Veyron turned to her. "Before we head out, want to leave a safety net behind?"

"A safety net…? What do you mean?"

Chika blinked, puzzled, then followed Veyron's gaze—landing on her older and younger sister. A vague understanding dawned on her.

— — —

A few hours later, in a luxury resort hotel booked under Fujiwara Toyomi's name...

Present were the three sisters—Toyomi, Chika, and Moeha—who had all gotten time off from school, and of course Veyron, who technically didn't exist in this world's records.

Also arriving were six familiar faces: Merlin, Artoria, Hancock, Fubuki, Selena, and Gwen. Each had claimed a room of their own.

The most important among them, obviously, was Merlin.

With her top-tier clairvoyance, even off her home turf, there was pretty much nothing on this Earth she couldn't uncover if she wanted to. If anything went wrong, she'd be able to notify Veyron and Chika instantly.

Merlin had been in Hancock's world at the time, giving Artoria a crash course in ruling a kingdom.

To avoid disrupting that mid-lesson, she packed Artoria with her.

Hancock, in turn, activated her Space-Time Gap assistant mode.

That way, no matter how long they were delayed in Chika's world, they could return with perfect continuity.

The other three—Fubuki, Selena, and Gwen—had just been curious about this still-peaceful world and figured it was a good excuse to hang out, do a little team bonding, maybe even lend a hand if things went sideways.

With all safeguards in place on World-0...

Inside the top-floor suite's living room, Chika and Veyron exchanged a glance.

Then, as one, they accepted the mission—and vanished, teleporting to World-1.
