Cheat Million Love

Chapter 48: Ch.48 : Rising Authority, Spreading Affection

One of the chefs gasped. "Are you serious?" he asked, his voice slightly shaky.

Zestia added, "This is really expensive—it's a double portion, you know."

But Nic just shrugged casually. "I'm still hungry anyway. Might as well go all in."

He turned to the waiter. "Tell me, how much for all of it?"

The waiter hesitated before answering, "Sixty million… including your original order."

The entire restaurant fell silent for a moment. The price shocked many of the ordinary guests—though in truth, most of them weren't truly "ordinary" if they were dining here. But for Nic, that number didn't even make him blink. With zero hesitation, he pulled out a card and swiped it.

Moments later, the machine beeped.

Payment successful.

A wealthy man sitting at the next table leaned over and whispered, "I didn't expect a high schooler dressed like that to afford this kind of meal. I thought he was just some regular kid…"

Nic gave him a faint smirk but didn't say anything. Instead, he walked over to the table Theo and his admirers had occupied. A few of the girls were still sitting there.

"Excuse me," Nic said calmly. "I'd like to eat here. Mind moving?"

One of the girls giggled flirtatiously. "If you want us to move, maybe you should invite us to eat with you first."

Nic didn't even flinch. "I'm serious. Please move."

The playful tone instantly vanished. They left—grumbling and rolling their eyes, but they left.

Nic waved Monica, Julia, and Charlotte over. "Let's eat over here."

The girls joined him at the now-vacant table. As they sat down again and resumed their dinner, the tense air of before faded, replaced by relaxed conversation and warm smiles.

Just then, Nic received a ping from his system.

Love Map : Potential targets detected.

- Zestia

- Emily

Not far away, Zestia stood watching them. "So? How's the food?"

Still chewing, Nic gave her a thumbs up. "It's amazing! You're seriously talented."

Then, grinning, he pointed two fingers like a gun at her and mimed firing—his signature Love shoot move.

Zestia's face lit up at the compliment, but her attention was quickly pulled to another corner of the restaurant. Emily was still sitting at an empty table, shoulders slumped, eyes on the floor.

"What do I even do now?" she murmured. "I got fired… after all these years…"

Nic glanced at Emily, visibly shaken. Without hesitation, he stood up, still chewing, and walked over to her.

He sat across from her casually. "Wanna work with me?"

Emily blinked. "Huh? Work… what kind of job?"

Nic paused for a second to think. "Managing my agency."

Her brows furrowed. "Wait… you own a talent agency?"

Nic laughed lightly. "Not yet. I'm planning to build one. Right now, it's just me and... technically no one."

"You're joking, right?"

"Nope. But if you know your way around managing things, I'll let you set your own salary. Just be serious about it."

Emily stared at him, unsure whether to laugh or be skeptical. But something about Nic's presence… his confidence, maybe… made her consider it.

After a moment, she nodded. "Alright. I'll do it."

Dinner ended smoothly after that, and they all got ready to leave. As they approached the door, it swung open.

Zestia stood there, her face red like a ripe tomato. She looked like she was struggling internally, and her thoughts were a chaotic swirl.

"Do I... like someone who already has a girlfriend?"

Nervously, she stepped up to Nic. "Um… could I have your number?"

Julia narrowed her eyes. "What for?"

Zestia stammered. "It's… something important. I promise."

Nic smiled and handed over his number. Zestia quickly saved it in her phone.

Shortly after, Nic and the girls finally left the restaurant.

Zestia was left behind, her mind tangled in confusion. Emily, however, for the first time in hours, felt a tiny glimmer of hope returning.

---

The next morning, Nic made his way to the hospital to check on his parents. Daniella and Kiara greeted him at the door.

"What happened yesterday? That detective dragged you out!" Daniella asked curiously.

Nic shrugged. "I'm fine. Nothing to worry about."

The girls looked relieved.

Kiara gave him an update. "Our parents are doing better too. Their leg wounds are healing, and they can move again—just hurts a little when they put weight on them."

"Maybe they can come home tomorrow," Daniella added.

Nic nodded, relieved.

As he prepared to leave, Kiara called out.

"Wait, Nic! One more thing."

He turned. "Yeah?"

"You don't have to keep staying here. We'll take care of them. The principal said your final exams are coming up. You need to be back at school."

Nic sighed. "Alright. I'll head home later."

As he turned to go, he accidentally bumped into a young female doctor in the hallway. She looked startled, but smiled politely.

"Sorry, I didn't see you," Nic said, scratching his head.

The doctor bowed slightly. "No, I wasn't looking either. My bad."

This was Vania, a substitute intern doctor who had been temporarily assigned to care for Nic's parents. Though still an intern, she was exceptionally skilled and had quickly earned trust—until the main doctors (Vania's parents) returned, meaning her time at the hospital was up.

Suddenly, Nic's system pinged again.

"Potential target detected."

He blinked, confused. Then decided to go for it.

"Doctor," he said with a completely serious tone, "I like you."

Vania froze, her cheeks turning red. Thinking he was joking, she gave an awkward smile.

"You're funny," she said quickly and hurried off down the hallway.

Nic sighed, watching her go.

"Welp, there it is. I actually confessed without using Love Shoot for once."

---

Still early in the morning, Nic decided to head back to his apartment and clean up a bit. But as he neared his door, he heard someone yelling.

"Nic! Nic! Open up!"

It was Monica, shouting frantically.

He quietly walked up behind her, then suddenly yelled, "BOO!"

Startled, Monica reflexively punched him in the stomach.

"Ow! Damn!" Nic groaned, bending over.

Monica gasped. "Sorry! I panicked!"

Nic winced. "What happened?"

Panting, Monica explained, "I went to the park to do a livestream with a dancer friend, but then that jerk Theo and his gang showed up. They started being gross. I got away and ran here, but your phone was off!"

Nic's expression turned serious. "Let's go."

They rushed to the park. When they arrived, Nic spotted Theo and his friends surrounding Monica's dancer friend, holding her arm with creepy smiles.

"Let her go!" Nic shouted.

Theo turned, clearly annoyed to see him again. "You again? This has nothing to do with you."

Nic walked up without hesitation. "This has everything to do with me."

Theo scoffed and let go of the girl, then approached Nic with a sneer.

"This park is my turf. I can do whatever I want here. And if I want to mess with these girls, what are you gonna do about it?"

Nic didn't answer.

Instead, he stepped back, then dashed forward and slammed his foot into Theo's stomach—powered by the God of Martial arts skill he got from Nia.

THUD!

Theo collapsed, clutching his stomach, wheezing for breath.

His friends stared in horror, completely stunned.

Nic turned his glare on them. "Anyone else wanna try?"

They all shook their heads and quickly helped Theo up before fleeing.

Monica and her friend rushed over. "Thanks, Nic," Monica said, clearly relieved.

Nic just nodded, then checked on her friend. "Let's go rest at my place," he said.

They left the park behind, while Theo, seething with rage, vowed to tell his father—again.

To be continued…

( He keeps farming girlfriends...ತ_ತ )
