Cheat Million Love

Chapter 51: Ch.51 : Spirit Hunter In Unity Club

When Nic returned to class, most students were still busy finishing their exams—including Leona. Olivia, on the other hand, looked relaxed, having already finished hers earlier. While the teacher was buried in his notes, Leona leaned over and whispered, "Psst... Nic, what's the answer to number 21?"

Nic just gave her a meaningful glance and subtly formed the letter "B" with his fingers. Leona understood immediately and smiled in response.

A few minutes later, the exam ended. Before heading home, they all gathered in the Unity Club as usual. The mood was laid-back as they chatted about the test and made future plans.

That peaceful mood was broken when Selene—the spirit hunter girl—walked past the clubroom door.

She stopped dead in her tracks, eyes filled with determination. She sensed a powerful "spiritual aura" coming from inside. With total confidence, she knocked on the door. When Raina opened it, Selene froze in awe.

"There's a mermaid spirit on your shoulder!" she said with wide eyes.

Raina blinked, totally confused. "Mermaid spirit? What are you even talking about?"

Nic appeared behind her, letting out a deep sigh. "Now what? Can you not cause a scene here?"

Selene was stunned seeing Nic surrounded by so many girls. She observed them one by one and grew more flustered. To her, every single one of them seemed to be "possessed by a spirit."

"That girl," she pointed at Vivi, "is carrying the ghost of a basketball legend!"

Vivi laughed it off. "Oh yeah? Go ahead and try to catch it if you can."

Selene immediately leapt into action—but from everyone else's point of view, she just looked like a maniac jumping around the room.

When she tried to "catch" another spirit, Nic decided to mess with her. With a serious tone, he said, "Hey, Selene, there's a huge spirit on your shoulder."

Selene flinched. "Impossible! I'm the spirit hunter! No spirit would dare get close to me!"

Nic raised his hand like a pretend gun and said, "Alright. I'll shoot it. Bang!"( Love shoot ).

Selene closed her eyes and raised her hands in surrender. "Is it gone now? Did you exorcise it?"

Nic chuckled. "Yup. You're totally safe now."

Violet and Yui whispered to Nic, "Were you being serious just now?"

Mika, munching nearby, added with a shrug, "Nah, he's just trolling her."

Then Olivia gracefully stepped up to Selene and asked, "Do you still want to hunt spirits here?"

Selene looked at Olivia and gasped in awe. "A-A goddess?!"

Melody, who had been playing violin in the corner, burst into laughter. "Haha! Told you, Olivia totally gives off goddess vibes!"

After a few moments, Selene looked around and asked, puzzled, "What is this club? Why is everyone here so... weird?"

Lily laughed. "You mean unique? Come on, look at yourself. You're just as weird and unique as the rest of us."

Selene gave a small smile. "If I'm unique... can I join?"

Nic leaned in and whispered, "Everyone here is my girlfriend."

Selene froze. "All of them?! You must be possessed by a harem king spirit!"

Suddenly, she clutched her head. "Why am I starting to like this weirdo?! It must be the spirit's influence! Noooo…" she groaned, tugging at her hair.

As Selene started yelling, Fanny calmly covered her mouth from behind.

Jenny, seeing that, chimed in with a smirk, "I wanna be silenced too, Sis."

Without hesitation, Fanny covered Jenny's mouth as well.

Nic sighed. "Honestly, having a spirit hunter in the group might be... interesting."

Vivi rolled her eyes. "Yeah yeah, just go ahead and recruit every girl in the whole school while you're at it."

Everyone burst into laughter.

A moment later, Leona and Sylvia walked in, having just finished their classroom duties.

"What happened here?" Leona asked, tilting her head in confusion.

Nic simply smiled. "Just another day at Unity Club."

The Day After the Exams

After the exams were done, Nic, Zestia, Sylvia, Julia, and Selene went out to grab snacks together. As they strolled through the park, a commotion caught their attention near one of the corners.

A man and woman were yelling at a girl holding a cat. The girl looked distressed, clutching her cat tightly and bowing repeatedly in apology.

Curious, the group approached.

"What's going on here?" Nic asked calmly.

The man immediately snapped, "This girl's cat jumped onto my girlfriend's head! Now her hair's all dirty—look at this!"

The woman beside him dramatically patted her hair, acting as if it had been ruined forever.

Julia narrowed her eyes. "But why would the cat jump on her in the first place?" she asked, clearly suspicious.

The woman glared. "Mind your own business!"

Sylvia crossed her arms. "Didn't she already apologize? What more do you want?"

The cat girl timidly nodded, then pulled out a small, worn wallet. She fumbled for some crumpled coins, trying to offer them as compensation. The couple sneered at her.

"Loose change like that isn't gonna cover my hair treatment!" the woman said, full of contempt.

Zestia folded her arms with a smirk. "Oh really? Your hair must be super high maintenance, huh? How much is it?"

The woman lifted her chin smugly. "A million. For premium treatment."

Sylvia looked baffled. "A million? Just for hair? That's such a waste of money."

The woman shot Sylvia a cold look. "No wonder you don't get it. You clearly don't know anything about hair care."

The cat girl tugged gently on Sylvia's sleeve, silently asking them to stop defending her. It looked like she didn't want to make things worse.

Nic, who had been quiet until now, finally stepped forward. His voice was calm, but cold. "Don't insult my girlfriend."

The man laughed mockingly. "Girlfriend? You guys are hilarious."

Nic smiled thinly. Without warning, he kicked the man's leg out from under him, sending him to the ground. As the guy tried to get up, Nic grabbed his wrist and squeezed hard, making him yelp in pain.

Nic leaned in close and said in a low, threatening tone, "That cat wouldn't have jumped on you if you hadn't provoked it first."

The woman snapped, "That cat's just crazy! It jumped on me for no reason!"

Nic turned to the girl with the cat. "Is that true? Is your cat really naughty?"

The girl hesitated, clearly scared. But when Nic gave her a calm, reassuring look, she shook her head.

The couple went silent.

Selene huffed. "What a nasty pair," she muttered.

Nic reached into his pocket, pulled out a five hundred thousand rupiah bill, and tossed it at them. "Here. Take it and leave her alone."

The woman scoffed but didn't say anything else. The couple turned and walked off.

Once things calmed down, Zestia approached the cat girl. "What's your name?" she asked gently.

But the girl didn't say a word. Julia frowned. "Why isn't she answering?"

Nic, watching closely, whispered to the others, "She might be Mute."

The girl, seeing them whispering, misunderstood and thought they were mocking her. Looking uncomfortable, she quickly turned to leave.

But Nic gently grabbed her wrist. "Hey, don't go. Come with us. We're just grabbing snacks—and I'll treat your cat too."

The girl was clearly surprised by the offer. She hesitated, then slowly nodded. She followed them, walking quietly behind the group, clutching her cat closely.

Selene stared at her, making the girl visibly nervous.

Sylvia whispered, "I think she's scared of Selene."

Nic gave a soft chuckle. "Let her be."

Even though she was still anxious, Nic couldn't shake the feeling that there was something interesting about the silent girl. Something hidden behind her quiet demeanor.
