Complexity: The PX-Project

Two weeks had passed since the F01 outbreak. The incident that destroyed was a nightmare for the Granitz camp, as they lost many young and talented soldiers. Pierre sat down on a sofa in his house and recalled the situations while Elena was sleeping, and the other girls that he saved from the Feta's manor. 

The admiral Karl Feta was still in a coma and had been moved to the hospital in the mainland for better medication. His mother Freja Feta also followed her son. A thankful gift from her hard work. Rumor spread that she was abused by several frustrated soldiers but it was unconfirmed. The Feta's manor was now emptied with only few maids and workers there to maintain. Pierre had asked his acquaintance in Jepunia to do telemedicine. Her schedule was so tight that she could not leave the country. Luckily, it looked like his light bond with her still worked or the case was interesting so she accepted his request. 

The admiral Steven Sterben and his family were found dead inside his house in the camp. A letter written by him was found nearby. It stated that he was grieved, guilt that he could not protect his comrades and the pride of the Reich, so he decided to end his own life as well as his family life for responsibility. His wife was shot dead along with his daughter. The gun in his hand found only his fingerprint. Rumor said that the detail on autopsy reported a secretion around his penis matched with Freja data but the police team did not want to publish this finding. The polices on the island then conclude it was a suicide due to grieve. No further investigation was made. Case closed. 

Although the Granitz island had a strong control on releasing video footage, some footage were leaked out to the mainland, the most impactful one was the scene where F01 smashed Karl Feta in a combat suit. This raised several concerns on the stability of the Reich army, as the most advanced troop was unable to stop a single creature. Some said the suit should be built for every soldier, the F01 creation was a big mistake. It caused a little shake in the political power as the president needed to step in. 

The leftover from the F01 was collected and arranged to several research institutes across the nation. Since this was the first supernatural creature that was ever created. Its sample cells or tissues were very demanding. The head which was not destroyed were secured by the central research institute on the mainland. To prevent some critics from the citizen on the mainland and fear of the same incident. 

NRE was also part of criticism about unethical research, though it was an action from an individual engineer. The president signed an order to investigate the whole institute regarding the remaining unethical research. People said NRE had too much freedom and demanded stricter regulations. He himself, Pierre Therma the acting director, although received several praises during the evacuation, was also questioned about his inability and too young to be the director. However, the president took no action on him. Some were then skeptical about the relationship between the two, but no clues were found. 

Then, the loss of two admirals at the same time caused a huge instability at the Granitz camp, yet no official statement came. Commodores in the camp would be in charge for a while. The recruitments for new cadets had been halted until the public concerned dimmer. It was such a hard time for the Granitz camp.

As Freja was on a break, the chief engineer position became temporarily empty. Freja suggested some potential engineers from the mainland. She sent the engineer's profiles to the director, waiting for approval. Pierre thrilled when he saw one name, as if it was something he was waiting. He picked the name without a second thought — Dianne Scholz. The new engineer would come in a few weeks. 

Among the unpleasant updates, the good news is Elena's work on cryobiology received a lot of reputation in the Reich science society. She got many offers from the mainland, and overseas. Since her breakthrough could lead to interplanetary travel. A scifi dream.

However the restimulation code and details about creating it were not permitted to be published. As the nation had seen how powerful its variant code was via the F01 incident. Elena agreed but Pierre opposed as he wanted to publish it. Pierre still holds handing over the source code. That was a few times that NRE employee saw the two argued each other.

At noon one day in the institute. 

"We should publish the code, for humanity sake"

"For humanity or for your own ego" 

"Ego? What are you afraid of"

"Have you seen what it can do?"

"That's why we must publish it so people can find a way to solve and fix it"

"Or create more dangerous"

"This discussion will go nowhere" 

"Fine~ my words meant nothing"

Though some said the two were even closer after each arguments. As Elena's neighbor saw Pierre visited her place much more often and always ended up with a loud screamed. 

(Elena's place) 

"Pete, harder" 

"That's it i want more " 

"Hit me harder" 

"Ahh"

"Inside"

"Agh~~"

After falling in his thought, recalling the past week, Pierre laid back relaxing reading the updates from panel, 

Karl Feta regains consciousness but is still in close care. 

As expected from the medical technology in Jepunia, they managed to rescue Karl in a few days. Upon reading the details, the doctor in charge, Erina Umeyama(30), succeeded in repairing severed wounds using a combination technique that reactivated the body. Pierre read with a glimpse of a smile, thinking about his past days with her. Pierre gestured brought up other news, 

NRE youngest director — a scam? 

A nonsense news, that Pierre quickly switch to another, 

Huge drug dealers captured by Dakota Scholz, promoted to chief inspector at 19! 

Pierre paused by the news as he saw a familiar name, Dakota Scholz? He then searched for the new engineer name that is coming next week, Dianne Scholz? Are they related? Some curiosities came in. The detail did not say anything beyond the headline as she caught the drug dealers that kept selling illegal and dangerous drugs to people on the mainland. The official detained several pieces of evidence.

Pierre laid back, shut off the panel, no more interesting news.
