Conquering a fantasy world with the US Army.

Chapter 4: A night of recon and information. (Part 1)

Eleanor Alpin Picture

Standing out in the open, the women looked confused as the sundown light shone still. They gasped, seeing six objects flying towards us. "DRAGONS!" one yelled, and I chuckled because this information was shocking. "They aren't dragons; they belong to me," I said, making them look confused as two came in and turned around before landing.

"Okay, rangers help the ladies onto their rides. Noralf, you will be riding with me." I said, making the Elven woman look at me with wondering eyes. She wanted to know just who I was and what those things were. "If that is your wish, Emperor." Noralf knew if she was going to live in this man's kingdom, it wouldn't be wrong to attach herself to him if she gained his favor, then she would have a better life for herself, and that isn't a bad mentality, as no man would accept her now that she isn't pure. Still, this man looks like he doesn't care about that, like purity isn't that big to him.

The women loaded the first two, and the Rangers helped them while talking to them. I knew the ladies would need someone to lean on after all they went through, and I am not against my soldiers hooking up with them; after all, they are human males and have needs. What I can tell is that this wasn't like those fantasy novels that people think women will be broken by sex. Well, that doesn't happen in real life, and this is real life.

It got to mine now, and I turned, telling the rangers to return to base and wait for orders in a defensive posture at the FOB. I kept the COP the way it was, but I built a bridge over the river with the main body of the FOB in the plains on the other side, so if the arrow was overwhelmed, they could retreat across the river, blowing the bridge.

Lt. Jefferson and his Rangers loaded up with Noralf as I looked back at the death I brought to this village. I didn't feel anything about it; their actions led to their downfall, and knowing that there were 100 more tribes to slaughter made my blood feel hot. After all, being a hero is hard work, I chuckled, thinking that before mounting the Chinook. Landing after three minutes and unloading the women, they were shocked to see things they had never seen before.

"The Doctors will check out all of you, and if any of you are found to be pregnant, you can tell them to take it out of you," I said to them and they hugged each other, smiling as they didn't want to bear any more if they had already done so before those children had been slaughtered like they should have been.

"Noralf, after your check-up. My soldiers will bring you to me, as I have much to ask you." I said before that a soldier ran up to me. "Emperor, I have something to report. The woman you saved before our attack wishes to speak to you," said the Private. "Lead the way then." Following him, a lady with a bearing that wasn't like the others stood with two women behind her. She bowed, "Thank you for saving me. My name is Eleanor Alpin. I am the tenth princess of the Alpin Kingdom south of this forest." She said.

"What was a princess doing here?" I asked, wondering how she got caught.

"The Orcs do war with my kingdom every three years to kill and raid for women; I was touring a city when it was attacked. This village had sent 110 warriors to participate in the war, as they had to send 10% of their population. Most bigger Orc villages number in the tens of thousands." She said, answering my question with a sad look. She had fallen out of royalty after being taken, so now I have someone I can get info on the human kingdom.

"Like Noralf, my people will bring you to me after your check-up. You and your maids will be under my care from now on, so do not worry, I will not hurt you, nor will any of my men." I said before giving her a little bow, making her smile. "Very well, Emperor Quinn." She walked over to Noralf, and they nodded to each other, both thinking the same thing.

"Take me to the TOC," I said as the guards waiting at the airfield saluted, and we left. Getting to a Big tent near the airfield, I walked in. "ATTENTION!" yelled a Brigadier General. "Carry on, General Matthews. I want a sitrep on the Fob." I said.

"We are all green on ammo, food, and fuel. We didn't use much picking y'all up, A company 1/75th has been moved from the arrow and replaced with B company. A company has been moved to the tents around your quarters as instructed. We will send three little birds out on night recon to 100km. We will know within the hour if there are more villages like the one you destroyed. Your Excellency, any further orders?" He said, making me nod as I waited for the little birds to take off and the women to come.

Looking at the loadout of ammo and equipment makes me smile. It's coming together nicely now. I need an engineer brigade to clear out the forest around the new COPs when they go up. I can't upgrade them if they don't have room, and the next one is where that village was, even if it wasn't that far away. That is more manpower, and I can't miss out on that if I want to expand.

"General, I will be making that village a COP tomorrow, we will station C company 1/75th there once I am done making it. So have them on standby for movement around 1200 hours." I am moving a unit from here and not summoning a new one there because I can summon a company of engineers to level the forest around it. The units I summon come with their equipment, meaning I will have everything I need to start clearing that area. I think it will be a day or two before my next attack.

"Emperor, the two ladies are outside waiting for you," Pv2 Johnson said after walking in. I told my guards they didn't have to salute when passing information to me, as I would do it every ten minutes if that were the case.

"Lead us to my eating area, and ask the cooks to make something up to civilian standards; we don't have contractors out here," I said, making everyone laugh, as military food on deployment was mostly handled by contractors on FOBs.

Walking out of the tent, I saw that the two looked better. Telling me the women weren't pregnant and that would make sense as they weren't holding their long, plus they had to be moved, so at best they had suffered only a couple of days to a week.

"We will eat, as I ask questions. But I won't answer all your questions until I know where your loyalty stands." I finished saying as I looked at Eleanor, making her bow as we turned and walked off.
