Chapter 28: Chapter 28: Starting a New Journey
The ocean stretched endlessly before them, vast and blue. The gentle waves whispered beneath the morning sun as the small boat they had obtained from the village of Cocoyasi slowly sailed away from the shore. The village was now truly free, and the villagers had sent them off with hope and prayers.
Nami stood at the bow of the ship, the sea breeze tousling her flowing orange hair. She gripped a notebook and a pen tightly, ready to document every detail of the journey ahead.
The MC leaned casually against the railing, his eyes fixed on Nami with a look of interest. "So, Navigator, what's our first destination?"
Nami flipped through the pages of her notebook and tapped her chin, thinking. "There are many places we could visit. But if we want to start off well, we need more information, supplies, and of course... money."
The MC chuckled softly. "Ah, so our top priority is finding a way to fill your wallet, huh?"
Nami grinned and turned to him. "Of course! I'm not setting sail without proper preparation. And if I can make a little profit along the way, why not?"
The MC stepped closer, leaning against the railing beside her. "You're always so clever when it comes to money. But don't tell me you're planning to swindle someone in the next town."
Nami placed her hands on her hips, leaning in with a teasing look. "You know, if I really wanted to swindle you, you wouldn't even know it."
The MC raised an eyebrow and grinned. "Oh? Is that a threat or a challenge?"
Nami shrugged with a mysterious expression. "It could be both."
The MC stared at her for a moment, then leaned in slightly, his voice softening. "In that case, I should be more careful. Who knows, I might just fall into your trap."
Nami paused, her cheeks flushing slightly, but quickly regained her composure. She cleared her throat and turned her gaze back to the sea. "Tch. I don't have time for your sweet talk. Focus on this journey."
The MC chuckled softly, enjoying how Nami tried to remain composed despite being clearly tempted.
After a brief moment, Nami grew serious again. "Alright, according to this map, there's a port city on the next island we can visit. It's called Bluehaven. We can gather information there, look for business opportunities, and maybe... get a better ship."
The MC nodded. "Sounds like a good plan. But are you sure there won't be pirates or bounty hunters after us?"
Nami smirked slyly. "That's what tactics and strategy are for. As long as we're smarter than them, we have nothing to fear."
The MC studied her for a moment, then sighed dramatically. "Well then, I'll leave the planning to you, Miss Navigator. I'll just enjoy the journey and make sure no one tries to kidnap you."
Nami shot him a sharp look. "You should be more worried about yourself."
The MC smiled. "Oh, I can take care of myself. But still, if anyone dares to lay a hand on you, I won't sit idly by."
Their gazes locked once more, but before the mood became too awkward, a gust of wind suddenly hit the ship's sails, snapping them both back into focus.
"Alright, let's start this new adventure," Nami said with renewed enthusiasm.
The MC nodded, gazing at the wide horizon. "The world is full of mysteries. I wonder what we'll find there."
With fresh resolve, they continued their journey towards Bluehaven, where challenges, opportunities, and perhaps... more teasing moments awaited them.
