Chapter 334: Crosses, Dragonfire and Angels
"COME AND GET IT, WASPS!"
On earth, back on mud and dirt, and the streams of blood and rain rushing in the pog, Racquel heard Lilith's great flying serpent tear asunder the heavens in a slitherous voice both as dead gunshot and sighing ocean. The rains which had seemed to be packing in the last hour hit a fresh wave and the hail began. Thus the beginning of [Stormanos]: the rains of the abyss. This was a hail that Titans Landing had never seen. The city was in hiding; a forced sleep, from which only courageous eyes peered out wind-worn windows—one hand on the latch, one hand clasped to the breast in prayer—to gaze yonder at the gods clashing in the grim sky.
Sure that Rafel's exes heard exactly what she did from Lilith, Racquel Serpent stretched her own thin voice up to the lightning-diced firmament, shouting on top of her lungs, very crazily, "you lot better get her! I AIN'T SACRIFICING MY BLOOD FOR THIS DRAGON BITCH'S DINNER!"
"HA HA HA HA HA! SILLY FLESHBAGS!" Lilith's deepened slur struck the darkness above.
Her dragon form was dense as a small hill up there—formidable and stupendous. A whole lot of dish-sized scales to look at, fattened tail like a python, teeth surer than tusks of a mammoth; an entire dread in the skies. Her visage bespoke its own horror. If you did not know just how pretty Lilith was before her turning, you'd love more the vision of a zombie. Like grinding gears of a dwarven giant, her voice smoked out, "Look upon me, mortals, and shiver."
They did.
[Blue Fire] was the first to bullet out of the sky to take on Lilith. The conjoined super-self of both royal Romanov sisters, Blue Fire glowed as a sapphire comet as they—now one ultra entity with the raw punch of a star—shot across the bedarkened heavens. Their twin voices melded as they rammed one fist of ethereal flames into Lilith's side.
"It is thee who should shiver, harlot of Hel."
BOOM!
Even Racquel down below felt the ricochet of the punch. A few more stones crumbled in it. The Romanov sisters thought they must have at landed a dent in her scales, but then the fearsome, gargantuan tail whipped out fast in a slash.
SICCCCC—
It caught Blue Fire in their chest, sending their form spiralling. But the Umber Dragon was not so freely appeased for she shot out after the ultra-girl. Her one menacing claw pulled their floating form to her just as her massive tail whipped out again—wiping down with terrible force. Blue Fire tore out from the dark clouds, hitting the earth hard with a boom that made Racquel jump on her two feet. Snarling, Lilith moved to finish them up. Her great-spanning wings folded behind like a ghost's cowl as she started to descend. But Bloody Mary grabbed onto her tail.
"Where are off to, dragon bitch! Huh? There's a lot more of us up here." Note: Check M_VLEMPY_R for any corrections.
The giant she-reptile knew if Lilith landed on earth again it was lights out for Yuki and Daschelle Romanov. She was saving their princess ass.
Lilith tried to shake her off, but Bloody Mary grabbed onto that tail harder than a life raft. She put out all of her strength to her bulging arms and swung with might.
Her swing sent the purple dragon sailing through the clouds, careening with the frightful noise of a wagon off course. Lilith hit a natural lightning borne of the fresh storm. The yellow arc sicced her scales, leaving a red jagged wound. "Aargh! YOU GNAT!" she growled. She shook her head to clear her disturbed vision. Rearing back in boiling fury, she roared. "Taste this!"
—RAAAAARRGGGGH!!!
A great ball of purple-black fire, [Deathfyre] really as she was a goddess of the underworld, shot out her mouth. It snuffed out all hanging lights in the eerie sky as it rolled and twisted for Bloody Mary. A plume of [Kaos]. Nuclear devastation—ready to implode the heavens. Racquel shouted up like an engrossed cheerleader. "Help her! Godsdammit! She isn't resistant."
It was true. Mary Atwell had skin like an Oak's bark.
She was invulnerable to many earthly arsenals but not the spit of an abyssal dragon.
Erika appeared before Bloody Mary in a flash.
"Skyling Arts: SUN OF AEMENI!" she conjured. A stream of bright golden fire erupted from her tiny hands, spewing a long, coiling tongue of celestial flames that wrapped around Lilith's own hellish blaze. It could neither quench nor swallow it. But it did the trick: it gave both Blue Fire and Bloody Mary a few precious seconds to catch their breath. Miles below the ravage of the skies, two southern alien-blooded princesses lay, knocked out in a deep crater in dirt that reeked of blood infested in the mud. Daschelle was first to open her blue eyes.
Apparently, Lilith's tail had shocked them apart from [Blue Firestorm] form.
Their joined avatar was weakened. So she waited a while for her sister to come to. Once Yukima did, there was no waiting, for to the girls their own pain was microscopic compared to their need to save Rafel from the dragon... his blood-thirsty, fanged mother. Numbing her own weakness, Yuki swiped at the blood running down her nose. "Link with me, sister. We can't leave them up there alone. That cunt is gone beyond sanity. She'll chew them up and pick her teeth before she even looks down. We've got to help them." Daschelle nodded and took Yuki's offered hand. An ethereal aura swamped the both of them. And fading back, both sisters had become one again. One unified super-girl.
Shooting up from the crater of their fall, Blue Fire rejoined the fight.
The skies were colder now. The whole city had dropped several centigrades, almost subzero. It didn't help the scenery at all. The clouds looked cancerous. Like they could do with some deep, deep healing.
Lilith was belching flames in all directions. Snapping fearsome teeth here and there. Whipping in all corners her fat tail, hoping to catch a body. But the women were wise. They avoided close contact; Blue Fire, Erika, and Dementa whom had firepower in their fingertips led the action. And at the times Bloody Mary went in for a serious punch, they covered her back so Lilith wouldn't catch her with her scaly wings. It angered the umber dragon. "You little fucking CUNTS!" She screamed, pouring poisonous indigo fire everywhere. The air smelled thickly of sulphur, and just this once the girls fighting her were grateful for the rain. Not so much the cold.
Lilith's breath was literally making the rain, acid. . .the acid rain.
"—bring your sorry arses here and let me give you the gift of quick death!" Lilith spat; the eyes above her snarl shimmered bright as lonely stars. Despite the flameballs rolling out her mouth, one could never accuse Rafel's mum of bad breath.
And speaking of the main character demon in all this, the Apollyon was caged in the bony prison of Lilith's right paw. She had safely tucked him away in her grasp, since when the women first showed up from Racquel's disgusting portal – "I'll protect him from the greasy, weak ex-bitches," was her set mind – presently, Rafel hung between her huge talons.
His head was bent low, injuries visibly worn on him like a robe. He was hurt. Badly. But not bad enough that he couldn't rouse and take on Lilith. He was possibly the ONLY one that could take on her. But his absence from the fight was that he lacked the will to fight. His eyes were closed, the amber delights locked away, but his mind still whispered nothings. 'What's the point anyway? She's beat me to shit and she still won't let me go? I've been fighting my fucking family since I came on here! Can I ever be free of them?
'I JUST WATCHED MY SERVANTGIRL'S HEAD ROLL! Fuuuuck! My sensuous dirty Naamah...' One could certainly complain about how Rafel thought about his dead succubus but lucky his thoughts were all in his head. "...she was such a wild lay. A true baddie. And my Corazón, this fucking bitch has killed her again. I can't feel her heart. I can't feel Peitho—my own fucking integral. Like, are you shitting me? And Ravenna, first I had to murder her dad and now I don't even know if she's alive... Or ash in the four winds.
'so what's the point?'
"We have to free him of her." Erika said while sending [Light Arrows] into Lilith's scaly behind.
What? It was the one weak point she could see. A great weak point.
"Agreed." Mary hung from Dementa's mecha arm. She couldn't fly so to conserve the energy she spent between big jumps, Dementa used [Green Cosmo] to keep her afloat. Erika continued where Mary left off while Blue Fire kept the big dragon busy. "I know Lilith from Corynthia. She's a huge jealous bitch! Green should have been her dragonshade—no offense Mary. She's not gonna quit. We have to rip him from her. We could jump dimensions with him then. She could finally leave this city and their poor skies to heal. And while she scouts through [Nether Planes] for us, we would come up with a proper plan."
All eyes in the funny 'ex' group turned to Yemaya immediately.
"You're the strongest of us, river woman. Take the shot," said Bloody Mary, always ever a crass Undercity streetfighter.
[🎶 Breathless – Shayne Ward.]
"Alright." Yemaya took her stance, standing in the air—literally. "Everyone ready?"
The females nodded.
Yemaya put forth her hands. But said nothing, no spells. No conjuring. She didn't need to. On mana level, she was easily in rank with Lilith. Immediately at the extension of her hand, all the raindrops froze. . . transformed into icicles in the air.
A million little crystal daggers.
They all watched Lilith's slitted eyes narrow, her astounding dragon body shift to attack, and then the one hot breath before, "—NOW!"
Yemaya released the subjugated storm upon Lilith's head. One million diamond-strong droplets rushed for the umber dragon's horned head. It stuck her like porcupine quills. Lilith yowled. And the women saw their chance. Dementa, Bloody Mary, Erika, and Blue Fire all rushed forward to Lilith's paws. Her grasp onto a faint Rafel was so strong they just had to rip the claws right off. "Yoooowwrrrr—" Lilith moaned as blood gushed from her destroyed nails. The blood from the cuts bathed the girls.
It was Bloody Mary who picked up Rafel and held him close.
Lilith reared up in pain and wrath, shaking the icicles off.
"Uh oh." Erika blinked.
Spreading her great bat wings, purple thunder cracked behind her; the Umber dragon roared a great noise as defying flame built deep in the back of her throat. She reared back mightily to release. The women had closed their eyes for the plutonic fires to hit when ...they heard nothing. Blue Fire were first to open the one eye to check it out. "Wait. Look! Wings! An Angel."
"What???" The other girls gasped, eyes flying wide open.
At the mention of wings, Rafel opened his heavy eyes for the first time in his ten-hour coma.
He took one look at the new assailant charging the Umber dragon and breathed, "Ravenna. She's alive."
Red-hot fire returned to his sinews, granting his body with an infilling of demonic strength, and satanic grace. He moved out from Bloody Mary's arms and began flying toward Lilith and the victorious white angel. But his Little Raven had it covered. Rafel reached the point in the clouds to find a [Demonagogue] embedded to the hilt—if it could be called that, in the great dragon's infernal heart. Blood and tears of fire streamed freely in rivulets from the wound.
[Demonagogues] were no joke.
Rafel couldn't care less about the blessed cross sticking out his mom's chest.
He rather, grabbed the lovely winged Seraph and enfolded her in his arms. He embraced her. "I missed you so much." She responded hastily, sniffing through harsh tears. "Ohh God! Oh my Lord. I missed you too. I-I thought... I can't... I was biding my time, waiting for an opening. You were injured. You are. Ohh, by the Martyr! Aya! Cora! I knew, but I knew I couldn't risk revealing myself without—"
"You pick her?"
They were interrupted by a soft, stricken voice.
Rafel and Ravenna turned mid-hug to see Lilith. She was now back again in her human form; she was transfigured not of her own volition but the fatal injury. The Umber dragon was no more. The crucifix still stuck out her heart like a dagger. Only she could manage with a stake to the chest. And a holy one at that.
Doubt was fierce in her indigo eyes.
"YOU STILL PICK HER? OVER ME?"
Rafel looked around at Erika, Mary, Dementa, Yemaya, Blue Fire—they had come closer now the threat was significantly reduced—and Ravenna. Lilith sat on a cloud before them. She had not the strength to fly. The [Darkforce] was slipping out of her—seeping down the stark firmament like her blood. Rafel turned back to her, Ravenna's luminous wings gently flapping at his side where he felt the languid fire of her devotion. She looked in his saturn eyes and saw the answer before he said it.
Dropping her head—charcoal waves blotting her pale face—she threw herself off the clouds.
