Chapter 68: Chapter 68: Getting Shiina Mashiro out of bed
The next morning.
Renji Kamisaka opened his eyes first. Looking down at the blonde girl sleeping soundly in his arms, a flicker of tenderness appeared in his eyes. He had experienced angelic sensations all night long. The girl was incredibly cute. So, Renji definitely wanted to stay by her side, forever.
"Hmm... is it morning already?" A soft, husky voice drifted from Shiina Mahiru's lips, as she began to stir with the dawn light.
"Renji, I'm still so sleepy." Mahiru frowned as she spoke in a soft voice and unconsciously rubbed against Renji's arm, seeking more warmth.
"How could you not be sleepy? I'm sorry, it's all because I kept you up for so long," Renji smiled faintly, full of regret.
Hearing this, Shiina Mahiru gently shook her head, leaning her head deeper into Renji's chest. "No need to apologize, I'm very happy too." Her voice was sincere, a confession that warmed Renji's heart.
"Then, how about we take the day off together today?" Renji suddenly suggested, trying to test Mahiru.
"No, I'm a good student, how could I skip class?" The girl refused firmly, though there was a hint of hesitation in her tone. "Besides, if you don't go to class, you'll have to make it up later, which will affect your grades."
Renji Kamisaka sighed, raising his hand to gently stroke Mahiru's silky hair. "But I feel sorry for you." He leaned in, whispering close to her ear. "Does it still hurt?"
Shiina Mahiru's cheeks immediately burned, a blush spreading to her ears. She opened her eyes and rolled them at Renji, trying to look annoyed but failing completely. "Don't forget, I'm a girl who's good at sports, so I'm not that fragile."
Besides, Renji Kamisaka was very gentle yesterday. She didn't feel too uncomfortable. On the contrary, it was as if she was surrounded by his warmth. This feeling was very warm, very satisfying. The only embarrassing thing was that she seemed much tougher than Sayu and also her own low "combat power." Her boyfriend was too good. She couldn't handle it herself and would feel guilty.
"Don't you need to ask for leave?" Renji asked again, trying to persuade her.
"No! It's still early. Let's get up after sleeping for a bit." Mahiru closed her eyes again, burying her face in Renji's chest, enjoying the lingering warmth of the morning.
After a while, a neatly dressed Shiina Mahiru rubbed her eyes and still looked sleepy. She remembered Shiina Mashiro upstairs and sighed helplessly.
"Renji, wake up Mashiro."
"I'll go? Are you sure?" Renji Kamisaka's eyes widened, amused. Angel, you haven't forgotten what happened to Mashiro yesterday morning, have you?
"What else?" Mahiru retorted, her tone slightly teasing. "Sayu has worked hard to make breakfast. Chihiro-onee-san's cousin failed her blind date yesterday. She's probably lazier and doesn't care about anything. Senior Kamiigusa went to school with a piece of bread in his mouth early this morning. Who else can take care of it besides you?"
"Aren't you afraid of me..." Renji began, slightly hesitant.
"Whatever you want, I trust you." Shiina Mahiru smiled sweetly at him, her eyes shining with complete trust. After becoming his, she was even more relaxed, as if a heavy burden had been lifted from her shoulders. She knew that this gentle person knew his limits.
"I trust you too, Renji, hurry up and go." Sayu Ogiwara, who had appeared in the kitchen doorway at some point, also winked at him playfully, a mischievous smile on her lips.
So, Renji Kamisaka now... I'm ordered to pick up girls. No, I'm ordered to take care of Mashiro. A resigned thought crossed his mind.
"Alright, so as not to disappoint your trust, I'll go!" He rushed to the third floor, his footsteps sounding hurried.
Seeing his eagerness, Sayu Ogiwara and Shiina Mahiru looked at each other and rolled their eyes at him, a small laugh escaping their lips.
Seeing that Renji Kamisaka wasn't there, Sayu Ogiwara leaned close to Shiina Mahiru's ear and whispered, "How do you feel?"
Shiina Mahiru immediately blushed, her face turning crimson. She lowered her head in embarrassment, hiding her face. "It's... it's fine."
"Pfft, why are you so shy? Just tell me if he was great or not?" Sayu teased further, nudging Mahiru with her elbow.
"Wah... I feel like I'm going to die, Sayu... I'm so embarrassed, I can't take it anymore," Mahiru whined, covering her face with both hands.
"I can't take it either, and neither could Senior Misaki. He has a strange personality, and he was begging for mercy," Sayu giggled. "Hopefully, we can be good friends in the future."
"Yes." The two girls smiled at each other, and the atmosphere was very harmonious and beautiful, like two flowers blooming in the morning.
The scene shifted to Renji Kamisaka's side. He knocked on the door on the third floor and called out, "Mashiro, are you awake? Mashiro-kun?"
No response. I guess she was drawing comics until midnight last night. Renji Kamisaka pushed the room door open helplessly and walked in.
Fortunately, Mashiro wasn't curled up under the table to sleep, but instead was bundled in her quilt, with only her head exposed. Like a lazy cat, she slept peacefully.
Renji Kamisaka leaned in and gently pinched her delicate cheek. "Mashiro, it's morning. If you don't get up for breakfast, you'll be late!"
"Hmm..." The girl stirred at his action and stretched out her snow-white arms to rub her eyes in confusion. "Morning will never come," she mumbled, her innocent voice still laced with sleepiness.
"Why are you saying scary things like that again? It's time to get up." Renji Kamisaka smiled faintly, amused by Mashiro's strangeness.
"Hmm... Good morning." She finally composed herself, stood up, and greeted him. The thin quilt slipped from her snowy shoulders. Her slender, snow-white body was fully revealed before Renji Kamisaka.
Shiina Mashiro was exactly as her name suggested. Her skin was truly white, as white as Mahiru's. After all, they were cousins.
Renji Kamisaka maintained a stern face, though his heart wavered slightly at the sight. "Why are you sleeping without clothes again?"
But Mashiro raised her hand and blew like a cat, stretching her back, and said confidently, "Because Renji didn't choose clothes for Mashiro."
"What about underwear? You have to wear underwear, right? Underwear is a blessing from angels, and wearing it is good for you," Renji sighed.
"That one's from yesterday, and it's already been thrown into the washing machine." She looked directly at Renji. She didn't care at all that her body was exposed.
Renji Kamisaka sighed helplessly. "Wash your underwear by hand!" He let out a long breath. "Mashiro, if you keep going like this, how will you live alone in the future?"
"Why do you want to live alone? Stay with your owner and don't separate," Mashiro tilted her head, her eyes innocent and full of hope.
"What about your previous owner, Rita? Why are you separated now?" Renji tried to explain gently.
Mashiro shivered, looking at him blankly, and stopped speaking, painful old memories perhaps flashing in her mind. Renji Kamisaka immediately softened his heart. Her family hadn't paid attention to her since she was little, and her parents hadn't taught her basic common sense. She only wanted to channel her talent in painting, so she could concentrate fully. In her world, there was only painting. Everything else was empty. Only Rita had cared for her wholeheartedly. Mashiro clearly never considered a situation where Rita would leave her. But now that Renji Kamisaka said this, she suddenly felt an indescribable strange feeling in her heart.
Renji Kamisaka sighed, gently embraced Mashiro's slender body, and touched her hair. "Mashiro also needs to grow up quickly, and start learning to take care of herself."
"Because Mashiro like that is more appealing." In reality, he was just coaxing her to put on her own clothes.
But Mashiro nodded instead, her eyes sparkling. "Mashiro will work hard... Renji is the owner." She seemed to enjoy the feeling of being hugged and having her head patted by him. Should we say they are cousins? Shiina Mahiru also liked to be hugged and have her head patted by him.
"Alright, put on your clothes first, or I'll feel uncomfortable." Renji Kamisaka sighed, then pulled out a blue and white outfit from a drawer and handed it to her.
"Relax, Mashiro is beautiful. No matter what kind of clothes she wears, she'll look beautiful," Renji tried to soothe her.
"No one will help you choose in the future, you can choose anyone."
"This one isn't cute enough." She deliberately helped Renji convey a little protest, turning the clothes over in her hands.
Renji Kamisaka reluctantly pulled out another one. "How about this one? I told you you're cute, and you didn't even look at it, so isn't my opinion what matters?"
"Alright, Renji is the owner, so Renji has the final say." This time she put it on when she was in a good mood.
Renji Kamisaka was helpless. So, he should be called Shiina Mashiro. He deliberately let her accept the title of owner. If he said he wasn't the owner, this girl wouldn't say it wasn't cute and wouldn't want to wear it, right?
When he was little, he would certainly have been happy to see Mashiro's body. But he had to consider her future. Previously, only other girls with the same name as Rita saw her, so there was no problem, but if she continued like this, it wouldn't work. Mashiro's body could only be seen by him, a man!
After a few minutes of escorting Mashiro to shower, Renji Kamisaka took her downstairs for breakfast. And saw her off at the school gate.
"Mashiro, you know how to get to your class, right?" Renji asked, full of concern.
"I know... Nanami brought me there before," Mashiro replied innocently.
"Good. If anything happens, call me, or call Chihiro-onee-san, understood? In an emergency, call Aoyama, I've already saved her number for you," Renji continued to chatter, a list of emergency numbers running through his head.
"Renji is so nagging." She pouted and said this, a little annoyed.
"I'm still worried about you? Are you disgusted with me because I'm nagging now?" Renji Kamisaka rolled his eyes speechlessly.
However, Mashiro pursed her lips and looked at his hand holding Mahiru's hand. I feel bad...
"Alright, I won't nag anymore. We should also get on the train." Renji Kamisaka ruffled Mashiro's hair and watched her enter the campus, then he and Mahiru turned and left Shuigao.
"Why do I feel like I'm sending my child to kindergarten?" Renji sighed, a small laugh escaping his lips.
Shiina Mahiru couldn't help but laugh. "Renji is truly a worrywart."
"I can't help it. Mashiro is too naive. I'm really afraid she'll be kidnapped by someone else," Renji admitted, his voice filled with genuine concern.
"Don't worry. She's actually very smart. She just recognizes you as her owner," Mahiru reassured, a gentle smile on her face.
"Mahiru, how do you know so much?" Renji asked, surprised.
"It's a girl's intuition. Trust me," Mahiru replied, winking.
