Taking the opportunity to examine the strange tree root up close with the help of the chaotic qi formation that had already been used to seal it and prevent it from causing any problems when it woke up from its dormant sate, it wasn't difficult for him to get a better grasp of the strange tree root than what Pei Yang or his two disciples had been able to. Of course, this did make him far more interested in where this strange tree root and crystal sphere had come from, as they shouldn't just have appeared out of nowhere.

But… From what he had learnt about the situation from Qing Yi, Chun Hua and Pei Yang, it seemed like the wiggling tree root had just suddenly appeared out of the blue, something that should have been impossible. Leading him to believe that the tree root might have belonged to a special spiritual tree that had attempted to seize the crystal sphere but had the root trying to seize the crystal sphere cut off by someone else who was also interested in getting their hands on the crystal sphere.

As for where this spiritual tree and its opponent was… He had no idea; the tree root had likely ended up being swept up in some kind of spatial anomaly during the battle and ended up landing inside the fallen Sky Empire.

This was all good so far, as there was no real way to trace the crystal sphere back to the Star Shattering Sect- or that was at least what he would have wanted to say before he began examining the strange tree root, as it quickly became clear that it wasn't entirely dead and still seemed to be somewhat connected to the main body it had been cut off from.

Now… here came a question, what would happen when the original owner of that tree root finished his or her battle and came to find the crystal sphere? Well of course they would end up coming to the Star Shattering Sect… And given how precious the crystal sphere was in its ability to increase comprehension speed, he didn't doubt that the other party would waste no time attacking the Star Shattering Sect.

Although he was confident in his own strength after breaking through to the Middle Stage of the Sea Formation Realm, it wasn't like he wanted some unknown powerhouse, that should at least have reached the Profound Immortal Realm from what he had been able to sense through the cut off tree root, to attack the Star Shattering Sect.

After all, even if he had the ability to deal with the other party, it would still devasted the territory of the Star Shattering Sect in the process and potentially even damage the current reputation of the Star Shattering Sect and make the Blue Sea Empire start having ideas of taking advantage of the situation.

At the end of the day, even though ancient hidden sects proved to be extremely intimidating, if they showed any signs of weakness, they would instantly be seen as a treasure trove for the younger major powers who wouldn't be able to hold themselves back from wanting to get their hands on the resources gathered by this kind of ancient power.

With all of that in mind, it was clear that he would have to find a way to get rid of the tree root before the owner came to claim it.

Destroying it wasn't an option, as doing that would likely alert the other party to where the tree root was destroyed. Meaning that he would have to find some way to get rid of the tree root without leaving any signs of his Star Shattering Sect being involved, something that was harder to do than expected.

After all, he would not only have to get rid of the tree root from the Star Shattering Sect, but would also have to convince those who had seen the tree root back in the fallen Sky Empire that the tree root had not been taken from someone belonging to the Star Shattering Sect, something that was even more difficult to accomplish than him removing the tree root from the Shattered Star Peaks, as there was no way for him to identify all the people who had seen the tree root wiggling around back then.

In other words, he had to find some way to make them learn more about the tree root without attracting any unwanted attention from other major powers who might be interested in the tree root as well.

"Haaa… I just came back and now there is something even more troublesome than my breakthrough to deal with…" Muttering this to himself as he looked down at the tree root currently in a dormant state trying to gather power to break free from its seal, Xuan Hao didn't bother wasting any time-
