Dancing Between The Hearts- Tylia and Theo

Chapter 15: Unfathomable Darkness

Tylia leaned forward and said, in a low voice, as she delivered a secret, "You will also have a big family someday." She giggled.

"As if you know," Theo snorted. He thought she was joking. Theo was annoyed yet amused by her playfulness.

"Snapped it, princess. Back to the main topic," Theo said, and he asked again.

"Now, I want to know if you also believe that magical things exist?"

He stared at Tylia, waited for the answer.

She said, "Absolutely, I believe about magic." Of course, she was the magic herself.

"Good," Then, he opened the metal box. He pulled out the tiny clear box from it. It can't be touched by bare hand. So he put on gloves, and carefully opened it.

Theo lifted up tiny gold band. He showed her, but not let Tylia touched it.

"You must be familiar with this, right?"

"Yes, it was a gold band." she said.

"It's a gold band and?" Theo asked, and Tylia shrugged.

"You didn't remember anything about this ring?" Theo curious.

"No, I didn't. I've never seen it before." Tylia confirmed about her answer.

"If you didn't remember anything about it, I guess you also don't know who gave it to you," he remarked.

"What do you mean by that? Do you mean that was mine?" Tylia felt confused.

"Yes, it's yours. The night I came to visit, it was on your finger. I took a photo. I'll show you," Theo said. He unlocked the phone and scrolled through the screen, then showed Tylia a photo of her with the gold band still on her ring finger.

Tylia frowned. "How come? I didn't remember anything."

"Let me explain but wait. I need to clean my hand first," Theo said as he closed back the box of the box, securing it to the side before going to wash his hands. Tylia felt confused about why she didn't remember anything about the ring. Who gave her that ring?

"Hey!" Theo poked her as she snapped. "I call you several times. You are daydreaming. Come."

Theo planned to take Tylia upstairs to help her relax and clear her mind. He also feared that Tylia might become stressed by what he needed to say next.

Tylia slowly followed from behind, not even asking where they were going. They walked inside the bedroom, and Theo pushed open the door on the left side. There was a staircase going up to the top.

He took a lead as he stepped up, holding Tylia's hand. As they reached the second floor, Tylia noticed a big three-seater sofa, blanket, and coffee table.

It was peaceful up there. The walls, roof, and windows were made from glass, just like the kitchen.

"Took a seat," he said.

Theo handed over the blanket, "You need this."

"Thank you." Tylia wrapped her body to keep warm. Patting the sofa, she slowly lowered herself, sinking onto the soft, comforting sofa.

"It's not raining now. I could leave the window open. But I have to close it back if the temperature gets colder. The wind up here is quite strong. You can see the sea from here," Theo explained.

He sat beside Tylia and called, "Tylia."

"Hmm?" Tylia turned as they were face to face.

"Did you feel relaxed now?" he asked.

"Much better, but I was thinking about the gold band. Why didn't I even remember I had it? It's keep bothering me," she sighed.

"I will tell you, if you want to," he said. Tylia nodded. She was focused on him as she didn't want to leave any word behind. She wanted to understand everything.

Theo continued, "When I visited and looked at your ring, I started to suspect something was wrong. And since yesterday, when the results were out, I immediately wanted to meet you. That's why I came to Rosemary City. You are someone target, and you don't know who."

He paused a moment and observed Tylia's reaction. Her mouth gapped open, and she was lost for words.

Theo reached and held her hand. "I think I might stop here."

"No! Please continue. I want to know everything," she insisted.

"Are you sure you can handle this?"

Tylia nodded.

"That gold band had been soaked in the love potion. The one who did that cast a spell on it. It was forbidden witchcraft. Power is not something ordinary people are thought to possess."

As Theo finished his line.

"Crack… KABOOM!"

A sudden sharp splitting sound followed by a flash of lightning ended with a loud sound of thunder over their heads. A forceful gust of wind swept through the area, followed by a sharp crash of decoration glass hitting the floor as it scattered. Promptly, Theo rushed to close the window.

Heavy rains fell, drumming on the glass wall. A howling wind could be heard. Tylia stood, looking shocked, as she widened her eyes.

She shouted angrily, "Who are you?!"

"Don't disturb me!"

"Go away!"

"Go away!"

Theo rushed. He was worried seeing Tylia in a hysterical state. He didn't see anyone else.

"Hey, who are you angry with?" Theo asked as he glanced around.

"There!" Tylia pointed with her finger towards the tree.

Theo walked in the direction that Tylia pointed to see who was there. Suddenly, the electricity went out, and everything went dark. Thunder kept rumbling, and flashes of lightning came occasionally.

"Theo, don't go there. It might be dangerous!" Tylia is anxious. She saw the black figure grinning.

"What?"

Theo couldn't hear because the rain, wind, and thunder were louder. Tylia walked anxiously before Theo reached the entity. Because it was dark, Tylia couldn't see her the way.

"Thud!"

"Ah!" Tylia screamed. She accidentally knocked on the wooden table.

"Lia!" He turned back towards her. He helped Tylia to stand up.

"Are you hurt?" he asked, reaching for a light in a nearby drawer.

"My leg hurts so much, but we must get down quickly. It's dangerous if we stay here much longer!" Tylia said anxiously.

"Okay, okay. Calm down." Theo reached for the drawer and quickly found the flashlight.

He turned on the flashlight and pointed it towards the tree outside.

Grin.

It grinned at him, a glimpse of a dark entity standing above the tree, its eyes and mouth red.

"What are you?" Theo whispered to himself.

"Theo!" Tylia called him and noticed he froze. The entity nailed his mind. She called him again and again, but there was no answer. Then she bites his arm until he bleeds.

"Augh!" Theo snapped back to reality because of the pain.

"Let's go down, please." Tylia cried.

Now, she was scared. Theo hugged Tylia, one hand on her waist, and helped her walk carefully. They managed to reach the bedroom, and Theo locked the door immediately, separating them from the chaos up there.

He helped Tylia sit on the bed. "Wait here. I'm going to turn on the generator," he said.

"Please hurry. I'm scared," Tylia said. Since her leg was injured, she could not walk. Theo rushed to find the generator and turned it on.

Less than a minute later, the entire house lit up again as the light turned back on. Theo hurried to the bedroom with a first aid in his hand. Kneeling beside Tylia, he examined her bruised leg. He grabbed the first aid kit and retrieved the spray medicine.
