Chapter 61: Hobgoblins and Moss Huge
"Then we'll say goodbye here. You can come to me for weapons in a few days." Tsubaki waved to Akira and turned to walk into the dungeon entrance.
24th floor, large tree maze.
A group of goblin monsters that look similar to those on the upper floors, but are obviously its superior species, Hobgoblins, reaching two meters in height, spawned.
"Roar!"
Pairs of eyes flashed with strange red light in the thick fog, and low growls came from their mouths.
All the monsters attacked Akira fiercely without any coordination. Their only bloody purpose was to tear apart all the outsiders in front of them.
In this crowded space, their mighty bodies could not show their full strength, but facing such a large number of monsters, an ordinary team of adventurers might still lose their composure.
Akira exhaled, but did not draw the one-handed sword at his waist. Instead, a huge amount of magic power rose from his body.
If someone was here, they would see that the air around Akira was faintly shaking, and if they got close to him, they might have difficulty breathing.
Akira raised his right hand, and a faint light condensed in his palm. Then a shrill scream sounded, similar to the sound of thousand birds chirping at the same time.
Akira controlled the lightning in his hand, holding it like a whip. Then, he swung his arm violently and threw the lightning chains towards the group of monsters.
Swoosh!
The lightning chains cut through the air, making a sharp whistling sound, and chased after the monsters with astonishing speed and power.
In an instant, lightning mercilessly pierced through the bodies of the Hobgoblins one after another.
Sometimes, the lightning even turned around as if they were equipped with trackers, stringing the Hobgoblins on the lightning chain like skewers of meat.
The air was filled with the smell of something burning and blood flowed out like a fountain, but was instantly evaporated by the high-temperature of the lightning.
Smoke floated out from the holes on the monster's body, creating a horrifying phenomenon.
A Hobgoblin who was trying to escape was instantly caught up and pierced by the lightning chain. With a look of obvious fear on it's terrifying face, it fell stiffly to the ground.
In a flash, Akira eliminated the group of Hobgoblins with just one move.
Akira clapped his hands and said happily, "That was easy. I should go to the next floor."
Akira, who had already gone deep into the large tree maze, scanned the front and fixed his eyes on the only tree hole in front of him. The empty tree hole seemed to be covered with transparent crystal and was particularly eye-catching.
But it was not like the angular crystal seen on the eighteenth floor, but was flat and smooth like condensed ice.
He could feel the moist air coming from the front, which was completely different from the gloomy atmosphere in the large tree maze. If he listened carefully, he could even catch the subtle sound of water.
The cave in front of him led to the stairs below, which was the path to the lower floor.
As the information provided by the Guild stated, once you leave the scope of the large tree maze, you will step into a world full of water.
When Akira was about to grab the vine and climb up to the cave entrance, he heard a rustling sound in the woods next to him. He looked towards the place where the sound came from.
Instantly, a huge fist covered with moss tore through the air and quickly smashed towards Akira.
Akira had no time to dodge so he could only raise his hands in front of him.
He was knocked away by the huge force from his hands, and crashed into several trees, breaking them. He rolled on the ground for several meters and stopped under a huge tree.
"Ahem, why do I always encounter some special monsters? This dungeon must have a grudge against me."
Akira propped himself up with his bare arms and looked at the large monster over 2 meters tall rushing towards him.
A Moss Huge, having a body made of moss, with pieces of upright moss as sharp as dragon scales, and roots extending all the way to the fingertips of its hands and feet.
"Ohh..."
The Moss Huge made a shockingly dull roar that made Akira want to plug his ears.
It then raised its two rough hands, clasped them together, and slammed them down towards Akira.
In an instant, a loud "bang" sounded and a large amount of dust was raised where Akira was.
Fragments of rock splashed on the ground, and a deep pit covered with cracks appeared under the monster's fist.
When the moss Huge realized that it had not killed Akira, it turned it's body alertly and looked around, it's arms shaking slightly to ensure that it could act quickly.
Just as the monster's red and cloudy eyes were shifting its gaze, Akira suddenly appeared in front of it and violently smashed its disgusting face with his flaming fist.
"This punch is a return gift for the previous punch!"
The Moss Huge took a few steps back and fell backwards, its face obviously burnt. Green liquid flew out, and the vines on its legs dug into the ground to help it stabilize its body.
The Moss Huge's twisted face roared at Akira, disgusting saliva spurted out, and then its strong arms stretched out to the side.
It's huge body made an annoying beeping sound, and then several small bumps suddenly appeared on the surface of it's body.
It's arms, shoulders, neck, legs, it's whole body was covered in small bumps. It was as if it was ready to launch something at any time.
But Akira would not let it succeed so easily. He raised his hand and released a Flame shield.
Unlike before when he could only make a flame shield the size of an average person's height, now as long as Akira uses up all his magic power, the Flame shield can cover the entire Moss Huge.
At the same time.
"Boom boom boom—"
Sharp projectiles—Dozens of seeds fired from all over the Moss Huge's body. The countless seed bullets were not fired in a straight line but from all directions.
But unfortunately for the Moss Huge, it's attack didn't work. The whirling Flame shield blocked the seed pellets.
Then the whirling Flame shield suddenly expanded and exploded, shrouding the Moss Huge in smoke.
