Danmachi: The Bartender

Chapter 3: 3- Sleeping

Please comment, it warms my heart to read them. It also pushes me to write more.

-Story Start-

"..." Aragon looked in front of him, a man with an elephant mask was sitting on the floor. "Lord Ganesha... why were you hiding in my closet..."

"...I... Am... GANESHAAAAA!!!" Ganesha flexed his muscles.

"...I know that. Why were you in my closet." Aragon deadpanned.

"Hahaha! Right to business then!!!" Ganesha laughed, "I'd like you to catch me a Bugbear for my Monsterphilia Event."

"...How much are you willing to pay." Aragon stood up, causing the two to be eye level with each other.

"Five Million Valis." Ganesha smirked.

'...Damn it, can't even haggle with that much...' Aragon sighed, "You really need this bugbear don't you."

"Well all the other monsters my familia have caught have been seen before. We need something new, something powerful!" Ganesha laughed, "You know how it is, if it's the same old same old no one will want to see my events anymore, and Minatours are to simple, everyone's seen them every once and a while. But Bugbears? They're after the eighteenth floor so not as many adventures that don't come from the outside have seen them."

"...What if I bring it back in prime condition?" Aragon sighed again.

"I'll add two million extra valis."

Aragon rubbed his nose. "Alright, fine. I guess I'll see you in a week or so."

"Thank you Sir Cerberus!" Ganesha laughed loudly before opening Aragons window and jumping out of it, bringing a familiar blond man with him.

'...was Luka seriously trying to sneak a peek again? God that man needs to be castrated...' Aragon sighed once more before he opened his closet and grabbed his old adventuring backpack. 'It's been a while...'

Aragon opened the back pack and grabbed two dark pink bracelets.

"What a bittersweet reunion my dear Thirteen..." Aragon put on the bracelets after looking at them sorrowfully for a bit. "Now let's see if I still have it in me."

Aragon sighed before looking ahead of him. "Unleash: Thirteenth Card."

Magic infused with the bracelets before they slowly melted into Aragons skin, moving towards his hands until three dark pink, almost purple blades came out of his knuckles like claws.

"...Why do I feel like people will call me Wolverine..." Aragon shrugged the thought out of his head, he had never even heard about a Wolverine before.

The door to his room suddenly opened to Ryuu. "...I was going to ask about all the noise that was coming from your room but..." Ryuu checked the halls before coming in, closing the door behind her.

"You should of knocked first, I could of been changing." Aragon said as the claws retracted, turning back into braclets.

"Wouldn't be the first time, wouldn't be the last either." Ryuu sat down on Aragons bed, right next to his adventuring backpack. "I thought we weren't going down there untill two months from now?"

"Lord Ganesha has given me a 'quest' of sorts." Aragon moved his backpack out of the way so he could sit next to Ryuu.

"When do you leave?" Ryuu asked.

"Tomorrow morning."

"...How long will you be gone?" Ryuu looked down.

"No more than a week. Shouldn't be that hard, most of the time will be spent trying to get to the floor that the monster spawns on and dragging it back up without getting someone hurt."

"One night." Ryuu whispered.

"Huh?" Aragon looked at Ryuu, her normally pale white face was rapidly turning red and exuding heat.

"If I go with you, we could get it done in a day. Safely.

Aragon looked at Ryuu again, seeing the worry in her eyes. "Oh, so this is about that. Ryuu, I'm not gonna do anything that will lead to me getting hurt like that again."

'At least I know this is actually Ryuu this time.' Aragon thought to himself.

"...You we're basically dead." Ryuu whispered.

"I know."

"If I wasn't there you would be dead."

"I know."

"If... if my Familia wasn't there... if... yours would still be alive. So would mine. We wouldn't know eachother... we wouldn't... be like this... you'd still be an adventure..."

Aragon sighed. Not a depressing sigh like he normally does, but a sigh that one does when they wish to help someone. "I'm not so sure about that."

Ryuu looked up, tears in her eyes. "Huh."

Aragon faced Ryuu completely, whiping the tears out of her eyes. "I said I'm not so sure about that, for some reason, I'm sure we'd meet eventually and I'm sure I'd find out about the truth behind my familia eventually, leading to their death."

Ryuu stayed silent for a moment. "But-"

Aragon smiled at Ryuu, "Ryuu, no mater what you say... it won't change what happened in the past, and it won't change what's happened between us." Aragon grabbed Ryuu's hands lightly, "No matter what will happen, it won't changed anything. Ryuu, your the most important person to me. And that won't change."

Ryuu stayed quite for a moment, before wrapping her arms around Aragon. "Thanks..." Ryuu whispered into Aragons ear. "For everything."

Aragon gently rubbed the back of Ryuus head, leaning against the backboard of the bed. He continued to rub her hair until he eventually heard her breath slow down.

"Night Ryuu..." Aragon repositioned himself to where both him and Ryuu would be comfortable and fell into another night of nightmares.

Or so he thought.

For once, he slept peacefully.

____The___Next___Morning____

Aragon woke up to giggling.

So he instinctively threw a pillow at where the giggling came from, hearing Syr and Anya say ow answered his question on who woke him up.

Now he had to do the most challenging part of waking up, opening his eyes. After five minutes he finally succeeded.

"What time is it..." Aragon grumbled.

"Nyaine in the meowrning" Anya smiled as she pointed to his chest. "Nyou have guest."

Aragon looked down at Ryuu. "Ah."

"Ah? That's it?" Syr whined.

"Sorry, I'd rather not wake her up due to screaming about what I already knew about. Speaking of which. Scram." Aragon threw another pillow at the girls as they left his room.

'Ugh. Way to early for them.' Aragon slowly moved his body to where Ryuu wouldn't wake up but he would be able to get out of bed.

Aragon grabbed his Adventuring Backpack and left his room, making sure to put a do not disturb sign on his door. Afterwards he made his way down the stairs.

"Mama Mia, I'll be gone for a bit." Aragon heaved his backpack over his shoulders. "Got a little mission I gotta handle."

Mama Mia nodded before giving Aragon a box full of food. "Stay safe, don't know what we'd do without you here."

Aragon shrugged. "Dunno, but you'll never have to find out."

Aragon left the hostess of fertility at nine thirty, heading toward the adventures guild.
