DanMachi: Ultimate Lich King

Chapter 100: DULK: Chapter 100

Holding Arthas's hand, Sakura reluctantly boarded the plane to Einzbern.

The Holy Grail War was a year away; Sakura would stay at Einzbern Castle with Illya.

"Will my sister and mother be okay?"

Looking back at her birthplace, Sakura asked.

"Don't worry, they'll be fine; they'll go to the countryside before the war."

"Oh… will you… become his enemy?"

Sakura whispered; Arthas was her father now; she meant Tohsaka Tokiomi.

To the young girl, hatred was unknown; she was confused; why did her father give her away?

She didn't understand Tohsaka Tokiomi's words; she felt abandoned.

"Don't worry, even if the war is lost, Masters will be safe; just withdraw early."

Arthas smiled reassuringly.

"That's good; otherwise, Mother and Sister would be sad."

Sakura lowered her head; she no longer cared about that man; she was no longer a Tohsaka.

She was Arthas's child, the heir to the Arthas family.

If this Arthas family truly existed.

Arthas murmured; as the plane took off, they left Fuyuki City.

Ten months remained until the Holy Grail War.

Jubstacheit was surprised that Arthas brought a girl back to Einzbern, but he smiled upon learning her identity.

She was a Tohsaka; Einzbern and Tohsaka were now on the same side.

Everyone was an enemy in the Grail War, but Einzbern and Tohsaka might ally initially.

Everything was prepared; they only needed the holy relic being transported to Einzbern.

With the relic, they could summon the strongest Servant, increasing their chances of victory.

Jubstacheit hadn't given up on Arthas; he was more anxious than anyone.

Justeaze Lizrich von Einzbern, the eighth-generation head, had lived for nearly two centuries, leading Einzbern since the shift from Grail "seeking" to Grail "war."

He'd suffered defeat since the Second Holy Grail War; his anxiety was immense. That's why he recruited Arthas; if not for Arthas, Kiritsugu Emiya would have joined Einzbern nine years ago.

Arthas was Einzbern's last trump card; they'd changed their family creed twice for him.

Arthas didn't know this; he wasn't fighting for anyone; he didn't care about Jubstacheit's wish; he fought to protect those he loved.

Arthas sensed something; if he lost the Grail War, Illya and Illya would suffer.

He couldn't fail; he had to win.

The day approached; as the relic was being transported, an accident occurred.

Arthas and Illya rushed to the Einzbern chapel at Jubstacheit's summons.

This wasn't a place for prayer; in a mage's city, the chapel was for magical rituals.

The stained glass depicted Einzbern's history, not saints.

Einzbern had sought the Grail the longest among the founding families.

Isolated in the mountains, cutting ties with the outside world, they'd sought the Grail for a millennium. Their pursuit was filled with setbacks, humiliation, and painful strategies.

They despaired of their solitary pursuit and formed an alliance with Tohsaka and Matou two hundred years ago.

Einzbern had once looked down on these families, but now they were in this state.

Jubstacheit waited at the altar.

"There's a problem… the relic from Cornwall was stolen en route to Einzbern…"

Jubstacheit said gravely, his anxiety and rage evident.

"Those thieves! They dared to do this before the war! Finding a new relic is impossible."

The holy relic was used to summon Servants, usually something the hero used in life. Summoning without a relic was possible, but it was random and might summon a weak Servant.

The theft was serious; it would affect Einzbern's chances in the Grail War.
