Dark Lord in Twilight

Chapter 9: 9.Emotions

Tom was thinking about the vampires he killed yesterday.

Tom was so angry at the time that he couldn't control himself and killed them both at once. If Tom had been able to think calmly, he would have captured those vampires and experimented on their bodies. The thought frustrated him. Normally he was more calculated, more composed. Losing control was not something he allowed himself to do.

Tom was aware that he felt different lately. It was the first time in his life that he had experienced these feelings. But Tom couldn't find out what each of these feelings was called. It bothered him. He had spent his whole life mastering the art of knowledge, understanding every aspect of magic, yet now he was faced with something he couldn't name.

One of the feelings he was aware of was anger. Tom wouldn't make such a mistake if he got angry when he was Voldemort. But now Tom couldn't control himself because he was experiencing the emotions more intensely. There was something about his current form, about this body, that made the emotions sharper, harder to ignore.

Tom watched television as he ate breakfast in the morning. Television was something he had just experienced. When Tom first saw the television, he thought it might be a magical object. After investigating, Tom learned that the television was a human product.

Tom still doesn't believe that humans invented the television or the telephone. Wizards definitely had a hand in them. According to Tom, the inventors of television and the telephone were definitely magicians. There was no other explanation.

After breakfast, Tom got into his car and drove to school. When Tom got out of the car, he saw Alice in the car park. When Alice saw Tom, she smiled and waved.

Without answering, Tom walked up to the school and entered. Tom thought as he walked into the school.

You fake your injury to get out of school and then you go to school the next day.

Tom couldn't understand Alice. There was something unnatural about her behaviour, about the way she always seemed cheerful, as if she knew something he didn't. After the first lesson, Tom went to the canteen and bought himself a coffee.

As Tom turned to leave the canteen, he saw some students approaching him. As Tom looked at the students who had come to their senses, he saw Alice sitting with the other Cullens in the future. Alice smiled and waved.

Tom could not stop smiling.

Why does that girl keep smiling at me like an idiot?

It was then that the students came up to Tom.

"Hello Mr Miller, I'm Jessica."

Tom began to speak.

"Hello Miss Jessica, what did you want?"

"I just wanted to say hello when I saw you, Mr Miller."

"OK, I have to go to a class now, sorry Miss Jessica."

"See you later, Mr Miller."

Tom left without answering. Talking to this girl made him uncomfortable. Why would someone chat to someone for no reason?

This girl must be as stupid as Alice.

I hate fools. Tom thought he hated Alice. But at the same time, he couldn't shake the curiosity that kept gnawing at the edges of his mind.

He left school to go home after class. Tom wanted to do some shopping before he went home. While Marvolo was looking at the meat section in the supermarket, he overheard some conversations.

An old man and an old woman were talking. The old man began to say something to the woman beside him.

"We have lived in this town for many years and I have never seen anything like this."

"Darling, how can you be sure?"

"Darling, I'm telling you, I heard the Sheriff talking."

"Strange things are happening here, I think we should leave town."

Tom knew what they were talking about. For when Tom became curious and read the old man's mind, he found out what was happening. Unsolved murders were being committed in the forest. The way the bodies were found, drained completely of blood, suggested that the vampires in the area were more active than usual. That was troubling.

This didn't interest Tom because he had seen too much death and now he didn't feel any emotion when someone died. But at the same time, it made him wonder. Were these vampires acting alone? Or was someone guiding them?

Tom went home after shopping and had dinner while watching television. While he was having coffee after dinner, he felt someone outside the house. When Tom took his wand and went outside to check, he realised that he couldn't sense anyone outside.

Tom went outside anyway to make sure he couldn't find anyone in the garden. Tom looked towards the forest, but saw no one. Yet, something felt off. The air was thick with a presence, something just beyond his reach. He remained standing there for a while, trying to pinpoint the source of his unease.

After a while, he shook his head and went back inside. Perhaps he was just imagining things. But deep down, he knew better. Something was watching him. And whatever it was, it wasn't human.
