Chapter 165: Chapter 165: Goten Gains the Ability to Copy
After returning to Earth, Goku recounted the events of their battle with Moro to Whis, Beerus, and the others. His tone was lighthearted, but there was a lingering seriousness behind his words.
Beerus raised an eyebrow. "Outer space, you say?"
"Yes, Lord Beerus," Goku replied. "If it weren't for the fact that Saiyans can't survive in space, Vegeta would've finished him off long ago."
Beerus snorted, his tone dripping with disdain. "Goku, if you had just used Ultra Instinct from the start, that battle would've been over in no time!"
Goku scratched the back of his head sheepishly, offering a nervous chuckle. "Well... I wanted to test his strength first, so..."
Beerus waved dismissively, clearly unimpressed. "Forget it. You mortals always complicate things. It's your mess, so you clean it up!" With that, he grabbed a skewer from the table and began eating.
"Um, sure thing!" Goku said with a grin, his usual optimism shining through.
Meanwhile, far from Earth, in Universe 7, Moro was wasting no time. After Goku and the others left Namek, Moro unleashed his full magical power, draining the energy of the entire planet. Within moments, the lush, vibrant world became a barren wasteland—a dead planet.
One Week Later
Moro now stood aboard a massive spaceship, which he had acquired after escaping the Galactic Prison. The vessel was filled with criminals he had freed using the Dragon Balls from Namek. Over the past week, the Galactic Patrol had been working tirelessly to recapture these fugitives. While the weaker criminals were quickly apprehended, the stronger ones continued to wreak havoc across the universe.
Among these escaped criminals was Saganbo, a tall, muscular figure with a pineapple-shaped hairstyle and a face resembling a gorilla. He approached Moro, his movements filled with deference.
"Lord Moro!" Saganbo called out.
Moro turned to him with a calm yet menacing expression.
"What are your orders, Lord Moro? What should we do next?" Saganbo asked.
Moro's voice was cold and resolute. "I will continue restoring my strength. Once I have fully recovered, I will go to Earth and destroy those Saiyans who dared to defy me."
"As you command, Lord Moro," Saganbo replied with a deep bow.
Earth – Mount Paozu
Back on Earth, Goten had learned about Moro's escape and his growing threat from Gohan and Piccolo. While others were strategizing about how to confront the galactic menace, Goten had his own ideas.
At first, he considered luring Moro to Earth to defeat him outright. However, he realized that Moro's forces presented an opportunity. Among Moro's vanguard was Seven-Three, an artificial lifeform with the unique ability to copy the abilities of others for 30 minutes.
Goten's eyes lit up as a mischievous thought crossed his mind. If I can defeat Seven-Three and gain his ability to copy, I won't have to worry about exams anymore! I could just copy Gohan's brain!
Two Months Later
Over the next two months, Moro continued his rampage across the universe, draining countless planets of their energy to restore his strength. His power grew with each conquest, but so did his desire for revenge against the Saiyans.
A few days ago, Moro learned that the Makarene Brothers—part of his criminal alliance—had sent a distress signal before losing contact. Suspecting they had been eliminated, Moro sent a stronger reconnaissance team to Earth to investigate and eliminate them.
This team consisted of Seven-Three, Shimorekka, and Yunba. Each of them was a formidable opponent. Seven-Three, also known as OG73-I, was an aquamarine-skinned artificial lifeform with blue eyes and purple gemstones embedded in his body. Shimorekka, on the other hand, was short, with light-yellow skin and hair resembling blades of grass. Lastly, Yunba was a hulking figure, covered in black fur with white patches on his face, hands, and feet.
Earth
The Z Warrior quickly sensed the arrival of Moro's vanguard and gathered near the landing site. Krillin was the first to confront them.
"Who are you?" Krillin demanded, his tone firm despite the tension in the air.
Shimorekka grinned slyly. "Since you've already found us, there's no need to hide. We're Lord Moro's vanguard!"
"The vanguard?" Piccolo repeated, his eyes narrowing.
"That's right," Shimorekka confirmed. "And soon, our Lord Moro will arrive to deal with you Saiyans personally!"
"In that case," Piccolo said, stepping forward, "we'll just have to eliminate you before he gets here!"
Shimorekka hesitated, his grin faltering. He hadn't expected such boldness from his opponents. Despite their confidence, he couldn't ignore the fact that they outnumbered him and his comrades.
"Gohan, let's go!" Piccolo shouted.
"Right, Uncle Piccolo!" Gohan replied, charging toward Shimorekka.
Meanwhile, Goten, who had been standing off to the side, fixed his gaze on Seven-Three. His eyes burned with determination.
I'll take care of him myself, Goten thought, leaping into action.
"Goten, wait!" Gohan called out, but it was too late. Goten was already locked onto his target.
Seven-Three barely had time to react as Goten closed the distance. The young Saiyan's fists moved like lightning, pummeling Seven-Three with relentless force.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Each blow sent shockwaves through the air, pushing Seven-Three further back.
With a powerful right hook, Goten struck Seven-Three in the abdomen, sending him flying into a nearby mountain. The impact caused a massive cloud of dust to rise as debris tumbled down the slopes.
Suddenly, a familiar voice echoed in Goten's mind.
"Ding! Congratulations, master! You have defeated Seven-Three and acquired the ability to copy for 30 minutes."
Hearing this, Goten smirked. Without hesitation, he gathered energy in his hands and launched a massive wave toward Seven-Three.
BOOM!!!
The mountain erupted in a fiery explosion, leaving nothing but a crater where it once stood. Seven-Three's shattered remains were scattered across the battlefield.
Krillin, who had been observing from a distance, stared in disbelief. "Goten… that was incredible!" he exclaimed.
Nearby, Shimorekka watched the destruction with wide eyes. "Seven-Three… he was our strongest! If he's gone, what chance do we have?"
Shimorekka's hesitation cost him. Gohan landed a solid punch to his face, sending him crashing into another mountain.
Meanwhile, Piccolo was still engaged in a fierce battle with Yunba, who proved to be far tougher than expected. Despite Piccolo's skill and strategy, Yunba's brute strength gave him the upper hand.
