Chapter 241: C206(2)

As the light surrounding Thor faded, he stepped forward, gripping Mjolnir tightly.

"Do you think I'll let you catch me?"

Loki's manic expression softened for a brief moment, his eyes filled with sadness as he glanced toward the palace.

"Wait!"

Thor sensed something amiss and lunged forward, reaching for Loki. But his hand grasped only empty air.

"Loki!"

"Stop him!"

Swish, swish, swish!

Everyone searched frantically, but Loki's figure had completely vanished.

When it came to illusions, Loki was undoubtedly a master. Once he disappeared into a crowd, no one could find him.

"He's gone," Wonder Woman said calmly.

The moment Loki disappeared, a notification appeared in her mind. The system announced that the crisis originating from Asgard, which had spread to Earth, was now officially resolved.

[Mission Complete: Kill the Destroyer, defeat the evil god Loki, help Thor reclaim the power of Thor, and save Jotunheim. Reward: 8 million Justice Points.]

[Justice Point Balance: 40 million.]

Clearly, Loki had guessed that Odin had awoken and, in doing so, realized the Allfather's favoritism.

Even if he had succeeded in destroying Jotunheim to prove his worthiness for the throne, it would have been meaningless.

For Odin, Thor would always be the ideal heir. Thor's return, stronger and wiser after his trials, only solidified his claim.

Loki had lost his chance.

And so, he left.

"Finally... it's over," Thor said with a sigh of relief as he watched Loki disappear.

Though he hadn't captured Loki, Thor wasn't sure what he would have done with him even if he had. Letting him go seemed like the better choice.

Thor believed Loki wouldn't cause trouble in the near future. After all, despite his actions, Loki had a strong sense of belonging to Asgard. Thor trusted he wouldn't intentionally harm it.

For now, the long-term decisions about Loki's fate were best left to Odin.

"Father!"

A commanding figure suddenly appeared before them.

With gray hair and beard, a single piercing eye, and a regal, imposing presence, the man radiated overwhelming authority. The air grew heavy, and everyone felt the suffocating weight of his power.

Wonder Woman's eyes sharpened as she turned toward him.

It was Odin, the King of the Gods.

His arrival had gone unnoticed until this moment.

"That's enough. This is a family matter now," Odin said with a wave of his hand.

"Yes!"

Everyone bowed their heads and began to leave.

Sif paused briefly, glancing back at Thor and Wonder Woman, her eyes brimming with curiosity before following the others.

Wonder Woman also intended to leave, but to her surprise, she found herself unable to move.

The pressure emanating from Odin was immense, like a mountain crushing her. She struggled even to draw a breath.

"You stay," Odin said, a slight smile forming on his lips. "I told you—this is a family matter."

"I'm not related to you by blood," Wonder Woman replied with a frown.

Though she was the daughter of Zeus in her world, this Marvel universe lacked the Zeus she knew.

"The blood of the gods flows through you," Odin said calmly. "In ancient times, all gods shared a common origin."

"What are you planning to do?" Wonder Woman asked, her eyes narrowing.

Despite the pressure pinning her down, she sensed no hostility from Odin. Instead, she felt as though he were seeing right through her.

"The blood within you may be like ours, but your life force is different," Odin replied, his tone contemplative. "I simply wanted to see you. It's been a long time since I've encountered someone as interesting as you."

After Odin finished speaking, he waved his hand. "Your name is Diana Prince, Wonder Woman. You are a benefactor to Asgard. On behalf of Asgard and as Odin, the King of the Gods, I thank you. If you ever need assistance in the future, you may call upon us. Asgard will spare no effort to help you in times of need."

"Alright, I'll remember that," Wonder Woman replied with a nod. "Can I leave now?"

"Of course," Odin said with a nod.

With that, and to Thor's astonishment, Wonder Woman vanished in an instant.

Earth.

In the small town of New Mexico, Anton's eyes flashed with intrigue. He couldn't help but think about the Wonder Woman clone being retrieved and the meaningful look Odin had cast her way.

There was something about it that gnawed at him, as though Odin had seen more than he let on.

Asgard.

"Father, who is she?" Thor asked, still staring at the spot where Wonder Woman had disappeared.

"Some of the others claimed she was my illegitimate daughter, which is ridiculous!" Thor exclaimed. Then, a thought struck him, and he hesitated. "But… she's not your illegitimate daughter, is she?"

The moment those words left his lips, Frigga, who had been silently observing, narrowed her eyes and fixed a sharp gaze on Odin.

The weight of her stare was palpable, her expression demanding an answer.

Thor's confidence wavered, and sweat began to bead on his forehead.

Even he could tell—if Odin's answer didn't satisfy Frigga, a storm was coming, and it wouldn't be pleasant for the Allfather.
