DC Heroes in Marvel

Chapter 251: C216(1)

Anton's face is indeed quite well-known, especially in New York, where Batman is more famous than the president.

As Batman's spokesperson, Anton is a household name, and few people don't know him.

As a result, DC's fans and works are incredibly popular in New York. Every day in major schools across the city, there are people fantasizing about becoming superheroes.

When the security guard saw Anton appear, a look of surprise crossed his face.

"Can I get your autograph?"

The security guard quickly pulled a pen from his pocket and tugged at the hem of his clothes, which were perfectly smooth, without a wrinkle.

He couldn't wait to say, "Just sign it on my shirt, I'm your fan! Your movie was amazing!"

"You have good taste," Anton said with a grin, giving the guard a thumbs-up. After signing his name, he confidently walked into the banquet hall.

At that moment, the people laughing and chatting in the hall didn't even notice the door opening.

Only a few noticed, including the Baroness of the Cobra Organization, Anna DeCobray.

Her eyes lit up as she instantly locked onto Anton.

As Anton approached the crowd, Anna leaned in, her beautiful face breaking into a smile that seemed as refreshing as a spring breeze.

She twisted her slender waist, moved closer to him, and rested one hand on his arm, her chest pressing against his sleeve.

Anton narrowed his eyes slightly, even feeling her heartbeat.

"Hey, director, would you mind having a drink with me?" Anna asked, blinking at him.

"Oh?"

Anton looked down at the woman who exuded undeniable charm, a smile playing on his lips. 'Since you've taken the initiative, I'll gladly accept!'

"Miss, may I have your name?"

Anton pretended not to know her, took a glass of wine from a nearby table, clinked it with Anna's, and smiled. "I don't think I've seen you around New York before."

"Anna DeCobray."

Anna took a sip of wine and exhaled with a satisfied breath. "I've known you for a long time, Mr. Jameson. Your work has become very famous."

"You can call me Anton."

Anton replied, his eyes seemingly locked on Anna's, though his peripheral vision was actively scanning the room for someone else.

Destro!

But after scanning for a while, he didn't see Destro.

"Mr. Jameson, you seem a little distracted," Anna teased, pretending to be slightly displeased. "I'm talking to you, and yet you're not paying attention."

"Sorry."

Anton smiled. "I just remembered that your last name is quite similar to a French scientist I know. His name is Daniel DeCobray."

"He is my husband."

Anna's eyes widened for a moment, but her face remained calm.

"Is that so?"

Anton chuckled, leaning in close to Anna's ear and gently exhaling, "A married woman like you always has a unique charm in my eyes."

"I didn't expect you to like a married woman!"

Anna smiled slightly, her expression full of various emotions. She gave Anton a suggestive look and said, "I remember there's no one on the balcony over there. Would you like to join me for some fresh air?"

"Of course!"

Anton readily accepted and followed Anna to the corner balcony.

He walked out onto the balcony with a look of misfortune, his gaze directed downward to the unconscious woman.

Anna may have intended to confuse him, as she kissed him as soon as they stepped onto the balcony. Fortunately, Anton closed his mouth fast enough to keep his innocence intact.

Although Anton doesn't have any thoughts of guarding himself like a precious gem, he can't be too unscrupulous.

According to the information he gathered, the so-called Baroness, Anna DeCobray, is not someone loyal to emotions.

When performing various tasks for the Cobra organization, she uses her body as a weapon, and he probably doesn't even know how many "green hats" her husband, the Baron, wears.

Of course, the movie portrays her in a slightly exaggerated manner—Anna is controlled by the bad guys, but she's actually a good person.

But that argument really sounds a bit too dismissive.

In this real world, Anton only pays attention to real information.

"That was close!"

Anton looked grim as he walked out. However, recalling the encounter on the balcony, his expression became somewhat troubled.

Destro, that guy, actually left the scene less than five minutes after the banquet started.

The only reason Anna stayed was that her husband, who didn't know how many times he'd been cuckolded, wanted to continue discussing high-energy physics at the dinner, so she stayed behind to wait for Anton's arrival.

As for the location of the Nanoworm warhead, it is highly classified, and only Destro knows its whereabouts.

"It looks like the banquet is almost over for tonight!"

Anton scanned the room with a displeased expression.

At that moment, people from the Cobra organization, who had been watching Anton and Anna, began to notice something was wrong and frowned.

Only Anton had come out alone. Something was off.

Their faces changed slightly, and realizing they might have been exposed, they immediately drew their guns, aimed at Anton, and fired several shots in quick succession without hesitation.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The tongues of fire erupted, and the peanut-sized bullets shot out of the chamber, streaking toward Anton like lightning.

However, Anton had already noticed their movements. As soon as he stepped forward, his body darted behind a pillar.

Clang!

The decorations in the banquet hall were punctured by bullets. Some unlucky individuals were hit directly, falling instantly into pools of blood and convulsing.

"What—"

"Terrorist attacks!"

"There's a gunman! Damn, this is a school—where is the gunman from?"

People screamed in panic.

"Call the police!"

"Call the police! Hurry!"

People scrambled on the floor. Most knew that in the face of a gunfight, they should squat or lie down, finding a safe place to hide.

Running around would only make them targets, like the unfortunate ones who were hit by stray bullets and rushed into the streets.

Boom!

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The Cobra organization's gunmen, having locked onto Anton behind the pillar, began to move slowly, intending to surround him.

Daniel DeCobray, who stood next to the gunmen, was stunned.

These gunmen were his bodyguards.

Why, in the blink of an eye, did his wife disappear, and why were his bodyguards suddenly attacking strangers?

What is going on in this world?

Daniel DeCobray still hadn't figured out the situation, but the scene before him changed in an instant.

Whoosh!

Anton, hiding behind the pillar, took off his coat, pulled off his tie, and threw it toward the pillar next to him.

Bang, bang, bang, bang!

The Cobra gunmen, who had been nervously watching the pillar, were distracted by the flying clothes and pulled the trigger repeatedly.
