Chapter 253: C217

This guy lives in the Destro Hotel in Manhattan. Yes, the hotel belongs to Destro.

Anton knew deep down that although Destro was just an ordinary person, the key was that he was an ordinary person with money.

At this moment, the interior of the Destro Hotel had been taken over by the Cobra organization. The rest of the staff were Cobra personnel masquerading as Destro's "security team."

As an internationally renowned arms dealer, Destro had enemies everywhere. The need for such precautions was undeniable.

Boom!

Anton drove up. He had no intention of engaging in a prolonged battle—he aimed to resolve the situation quickly and decisively.

Whoosh!

As he passed through a dark alley, Anton transformed. He became Batman, and his sports car morphed into the iconic Batmobile.

Anton drove the Batmobile straight into the hotel lobby.

Crash!

The revolving door at the entrance shattered. Glass shards flew everywhere, startling passing citizens. Their expressions turned from shock to disbelief.

"Is that... Batman?"

The onlookers exchanged stunned glances before excitement took over, and they began running toward the commotion.

"Batman is here?!"

Inside the hotel, Anton wasted no time. He had no intention of giving Destro thugs—or the Cobra organization—a chance to retaliate.

In an instant, he summoned Arrow, Cyborg , and Wonder Woman. Together with his Batman persona, the four heroes launched their assault.

Against such a team, any enemy would have no choice but to retreat.

The Cobra thugs didn't stand a chance.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Gunfire erupted as the Cobra soldiers pulled their triggers. A few even charged forward recklessly, ignoring their comrades' attempts to stop them.

Anton quickly noticed something odd about their behavior.

"Their faces..." he muttered.

The Cobra soldiers' expressions were blank, devoid of emotion. Their eyes held no life, as if they were nothing more than moving corpses.

Viper Soldiers!

Anton recognized them instantly.

The Viper Soldiers, created by the Cobra organization, were not entirely human anymore. Though technically alive, they were nearly indistinguishable from the undead.

These soldiers were not the result of simple nanoworm technology but of a more advanced derivative: the nanoworm solution.

When injected into a human, the nanoworm solution granted certain enhancements. It strengthened the body, suppressed fear, and eliminated the perception of pain.

However, it also shut down the cerebral cortex, erasing all capacity for independent thought or moral judgment. These soldiers became mindless tools, utterly obedient to their superiors.

The nanoworms also allowed their bodies to heal quickly and resist toxins. Yet, despite these upgrades, Viper Soldiers remained within the bounds of ordinary human capabilities.

The drawback? The nanoworm solution was prohibitively expensive, limiting the number of Viper Soldiers to just a few dozen.

"Looks like all of them are here tonight," Anton mused, his lips curling into a cold smile.

"Time to finish this in one shot."

With his cape billowing behind him, Anton stood his ground as the Viper Soldiers charged, guns blazing.

"Take them down!" he commanded.

Whoosh!

Cyborg , Arrow, and Wonder Woman moved like lightning, engaging the enemy with precision and power.

Thwip! Thwip! Thwip!

Arrow loosed several arrows in rapid succession, each one striking a Viper Soldier square in the chest.

Despite their injuries, the Viper Soldiers kept moving, their enhanced bodies pushing past normal limits.

However, their movements grew rigid, and their bodies began to cool as they succumbed to their wounds.

"Oh?"

Anton's face darkened—not with fear, but with deep emotion.

"These soldiers are already dead," he muttered. "In a way, they're in a state of brain death."

The injection of the nanoworm solution had left the Viper Soldiers in a permanent state of "brain death," erasing their personal consciousness.

The only reason they could move now was because they were being controlled by the Cobra organization.

"These guys aren't people anymore," Anton thought grimly. "They're just tools."

Cobra's callous disregard for life disgusted him.

"Let's send them on their way," he said, his voice cold.

The thought had barely crossed his mind when his three avatars—Arrow, Cyborg , and Wonder Woman—exchanged glances and sprang into action.

Boom!

Arrow fired explosive arrows.

Cyborg unleashed an energy cannonball.

Wonder Woman unleashed a divine shockwave.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

In the span of a few heartbeats, the three attacks combined into a devastating force of flames, energy, and divine power.

The resulting net of destruction consumed the advancing Viper Soldiers entirely.

The soldiers didn't stand a chance. In an instant, they were reduced to ashes.

"They were already dead," Anton muttered. "We've just destroyed their bodies."

"Oh?"

Cyborg's electronic eyes suddenly flashed. "Destro is making a run for it! He's heading for the rooftop—he's boarding a helicopter."

"The rooftop?"

Anton smirked and strode toward the exit.

"Let's go," he said. "Time to meet the Cobra organization's arms dealer."

Whoosh! Whoosh!

Cyborg and Wonder Woman were faster than Anton and Arrow. They soared upward, smashing through the hotel's ceilings in seconds.

It didn't take long for them to reach the helipad on the rooftop.

By the time they arrived, Destro had just placed one foot on the helicopter's steps. He was clutching a box tightly in his hands.

"Hello there," cyborg said calmly, his expression unreadable. "We haven't met before, but I don't think introductions are necessary, Mr. Destro."

"You don't stand a chance," Wonder Woman added coldly, her eyes fixed on him like a predator locking onto prey.

Bang! Bang!

Suddenly, the helicopter pilot opened fire, launching pulse bullets at the heroes.

The projectiles raced toward cyborg and Wonder Woman, but neither flinched.

Boom!

The bullets exploded just a meter away, stopped by a transparent energy shield that materialized in front of them. Not even a gust of air made it past the barrier, let alone the heat or shockwaves.

The pulse bullets had no effect.

Cobra's decades of research, transforming soldiers and developing advanced weapons, had proved utterly useless against these "non-human" adversaries.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

Behind cyborg and Wonder Woman, Anton and Arrow arrived, swinging up to the helipad on steel wires.

Anton stepped onto the tarmac and sneered as the fading light from the explosion reflected off his armor.

"You underestimated us," he said coldly.

"What he's holding—it's a nanoworm warhead!" Cyborg suddenly announced, his voice sharp.

Destro took a deep breath, trying to suppress the rising panic. He clutched the box tightly and raised it into the air.

"I advise you not to come any closer!" he shouted, his voice rising with desperation.

"Otherwise…" Destro paused, a manic grin spreading across his face. "…I'll open the box and activate the nanoworms!"

"If I do that, all of New York City will be destroyed!"

His declaration sent a wave of terror through the men around him. Their expressions turned pale as they realized the gravity of the situation. But they knew retreat wasn't an option.

Against four superheroes with extraordinary abilities, even the elite Viper Soldiers had fallen. What chance did the rest of them have?

Swish! Swish!

As Destro spoke, the eyes of Anton, cyborg , Arrow, and Wonder Woman all locked onto him. Then, their gazes shifted to the box in his hands—the one containing the nanoworm warhead.

"If you're going to do it," Batman said flatly, his voice devoid of emotion, "then do it. Let's see your courage, Destro."
