DC/Marvel: This Guy is Insane

Chapter 69: Chapter 69: The Most Unworthy Worthiness

Boom!

A bolt of blood-red lightning exploded from the ruins of the bunker. A figure flew out like a kite with a broken string, slamming into the ground with a sickening thud. Diana lay in a heap, the scars on her face and the blood at the corners of her mouth a testament to her utter defeat at the hands of Ares, the God of War.

Terrifying, scarlet lightning crackled across the ruins. Ares, bathed in its glow, his divine armor monstrous and imposing, walked step by step toward his fallen sister. "Zeus has sired so many demigods," he said, his voice a cruel mockery. "And they are all like trash. Not a single one of them is decent."

Half of Ares's bloodline came from the God-King Zeus, the other half from the God-Queen Hera. He was a god of pure descent and had always looked down on his brothers and sisters of demigod lineage. Though he had inherited a portion of the power of thunder, he had failed to inherit Zeus's… other famous talents. All he could see, all he could tolerate, was war.

"Diana, I'll give you a chance to pledge your loyalty to me. In the future, when I establish my new pantheon, I promise you will serve as my deputy." Ares was extremely ambitious. He was not just limited to ruling one planet; he wanted to spread war to every corner of the universe. The divine power of war came from war, and the universe was full of it. With that power, he could subvert everything with a flick of his finger. Such a grand ambition was too far-fetched to be accomplished alone, so he needed to recruit some helpers.

"Don't even think about it." Diana had only one thought in her mind: to defeat Ares. How could she ever be willing to surrender to the enemy? She immediately stood up and launched another attack, never giving up, her fighting spirit burning high.

Ares raised his hand and easily neutralized her attack. Dealing with a demigod who relied on artifacts to fight was not enough for him to use his true strength.

"Nanaue, I'll leave my blue diamond with you for safekeeping. Escort everyone and evacuate first." Seeing this, Alan handed the Cosmic Cube to Nanaue. With his protection, they should be able to bring everyone back to the Allied-controlled area. He was worried that Ares would discover the secret of the Cosmic Cube. If it were taken away, there would be no way to defeat him. More importantly, Thor, the God of Thunder, was bound to know about the Cube and would insist on taking it back to Asgard for safekeeping. In that case, all of Alan's work would be in vain.

"What should we do?" Dugan asked. He was the tactical director of the commando team, and he analyzed that they were currently facing their greatest crisis yet, secretly hating himself for being unable to help. He had every reason to believe that after this battle, all the core members of the team would be wiped out.

"Make mine spicy, no cilantro, extra green onions."

"…" What time is it? And you still have time to be funny?

Dugan, promoted to temporary captain, no longer hesitated and led everyone to break out. They were a group of mortals fighting a god. Even if they ate a crate of firecrackers, they couldn't pull off something so explosive.

Alan looked at the battlefield, feeling distressed as he watched Diana being knocked away again and again, only to get up and fight for her life again and again. He couldn't help but encourage her, "Princess, come on! Get up and fight before you die! Life is endless, and the fight will not stop!"

Of course, Diana had no intention of paying attention to him, as her mind was constantly analyzing her opponent's weaknesses.

"Logically speaking, the cavalry should be arriving by now." Alan looked to the sky, muttering about whether Thor was still drunk somewhere.

Boom!

The Rainbow Bridge fell from the sky. Thor had arrived just in time. This time, he was not drunk, but looked very sober.

"Hey, Goldilocks, did you condition today?" Alan looked at Thor's silky, golden hair and said with envy, "You'd be very beautiful with two braids."

"So, it's you." Thor recognized Alan and asked nostalgically, "Do you still have any of that wine from last time?"

"Atlantis has as many as you want," Alan said, decisively diverting the trouble, hoping Thor would go bother Atlantis.

Thor turned to look at Ares. Suddenly, his eyes flashed with lightning, and electricity flowed across the surface of his body. "You won't escape again, my defeated foe." As soon as he finished speaking, Thor transformed into a bolt of lightning and charged toward his opponent.

When Thor's hammer struck, it outlined a patch of raw, electric power. Seeing that the situation was not good, Ares drew his sword and attacked.

Boom!

The thunder became more violent, as if the lightning had turned into a heavy rain, pouring down. Blue and red lightning intertwined, making it impossible to see the battle clearly with the naked eye.

"Damn it, you rich gamers and your special effects! It's blinding my damn eyes!" Alan covered his sore eyes, as if he had watched someone welding for half an hour without protection. At the same time, he felt his scalp tingle, his hair standing up like a hedgehog.

Bang!

Diana flew out of the storm of lightning and hit the ground hard, plowing a deep ravine.

"Lady, who are you?" Diana's nose was bruised and her face swollen; she was completely unrecognizable, her former nobility and beauty completely lost.

"I… ugh…" Unable to catch her breath, Diana fell into a coma.

"Rise and shine, my love." Alan grabbed Diana's shoulders and shook her violently, jostling her awake.

"Stop shaking… I'm not dead…" Diana said weakly.

"Don't worry, Your Highness. I will avenge you." After saying that, Alan picked up the Sword of Vulcan and made to join the battlefield. Unfortunately, the merciless thunder and lightning raged wildly, making it difficult to approach.

"How about I just file a report for you later…" Alan looked at Diana, who had fallen into a coma again, and sighed. "Forget it. Might as well finish the job." Turning around and walking to an open space on the side, he thrust the Sword of Vulcan into the soil and began to dig a hole, muttering, "I can only help you dig a grave."

Alan was digging a grave. The battle between the God of War and the God of Thunder reached a fever pitch.

"This time, I want you to never return," Ares challenged. When he had entered the human world, his power of war had increased crazily, far exceeding its original level, and he had already crushed Thor in terms of raw strength.

Thor struggled to cope with Ares's attack, truly shocked. After not seeing him for two or three months, his opponent's strength had changed drastically. Now, he could only passively defend himself.

Thor held up his hammer as a shield, resisting the sharp slashes of Ares's sword.

A slash with a sword.

Thor's hammer flew away. Ares stabbed Thor's abdomen with a backhand sword.

Boom!

Alan, who was busy digging a grave, suddenly felt something hit him on the back. He stumbled and fell into the hole he had just dug.

"Who threw that hammer?" Alan climbed out of the grave pit, a hammer in his hand, and looked around angrily, searching for the despicable attacker. Subconsciously, he looked at Mjolnir in his hand.

"Pikachu Hammer." Alan's expression was confused at first, and then he suddenly had a realization. He looked at Thor on the battlefield, his eyes becoming blurred and wretched, and he said shyly, "Well, you should have just told me earlier. Now you've made me take the initiative."

As we all know, Thor gave Mjolnir an enchantment to protect the love of his life, Jane Foster, and thus the heroic character of the female Thor was born. After analyzing the only clues available, Alan finally came to a conclusion.

Thor had a crush on him!
