Demon Slayer: Path of Redemption

"This New born demon's Blood Demon Art seems to be a long-range attack. I can't let him create distance; I need to get close."

Yamibari crouched lower and lower, adopting a bizarre, almost ground-hugging posture. Then, he thrust his legs, kicking up several broken rocks.

He darted forward like an arrow from a bow, clinging to the ground as he charged at Akihiro.

The moment Yamibari moved, Akihiro understood his intention. His body retreated sharply, initiating a battle of maneuvers with Yamibari within the confined space of the bear cave.

Akihiro's thought moved, and the enormous incandescent white wings on his back spread backward, then violently fanned forward.

As soon as dozens of blazing feathers left the wing's body, they transformed into energy feathers composed of incandescent white energy, sharp and fierce, carrying the sunlight energy that made Yamibari's heart pound.

But despite Yamibari's alarm, he wasn't afraid.

"No matter how strange your Blood Demon Art is, it's useless if it can't hit me."

"Even if it hits a little, can it directly kill me?"

Yamibari, moving close to the ground, at this moment seemed to transform into a boneless viper, his body twisting back and forth in a bizarre manner, dodging almost all of the blazing feathers.

The other blazing feathers embedded themselves in the ground, slowly dissipating into nothingness.

Akihiro was silent. Yamibari had guessed he would possess such a long-range ability from the moment he used the blazing feathers to attack.

Then, Yamibari's bizarre, ground-hugging movement greatly reduced the effectiveness of the blazing feathers. Out of nearly sixty blazing feathers, only one hit Yamibari, and it even avoided vital points.

Yamibari had lived as a demon for decades. He had only been caught off guard by Akihiro's sneak attack at the very beginning. After that, he had been dominating Akihiro, even smashing his face against the wall.

After Yamibari became truly serious, even with the awakened Blood Demon Art that could counter demons, Akihiro still felt immense pressure.

"Blazing feathers are very effective against demons, but they consume a lot of energy."

"I'm so hungry, my stomach feels like it's on fire. I feel like I'm going to pass out."

Transforming into a demon consumed energy, regenerating his body consumed energy, and using Blood Demon Arts consumed the most energy.

And Akihiro had not eaten a single bite of meat so far...

Akihiro took a sharp breath: "Hinokami Kagura!"

Perhaps it was because his body's structure had changed, or perhaps it had always been this way.

When using the Hinokami Kagura, Akihiro felt excruciating pain throughout his body, as if every muscle fiber was twisting and tearing, as if he were being burned in a torch.

However, this brought him powerful strength and speed, as well as high morale in battle.

Perhaps the Hinokami Kagura was unleashing his potential, but his body couldn't easily bear it.

The incandescent white wings flapped. Although they couldn't make Akihiro fly, they greatly enhanced his speed, sending him straight towards Yamibari.

He jumped up, the blazing feathers flapping madly upwards, creating a downward force. At the same time, using the momentum of his descent, Akihiro brought a heavy leg down, like a battleaxe, aiming for Yamibari's head.

Akihiro wasn't afraid of close combat either.

"I need to finish this quickly."

Yamibari's face lit up with joy. He slammed his hand hard on the ground, creating a crater, then twisted his body upwards and to the side, dodging Akihiro's heavy kick.

"Thud!"

Akihiro's kick slammed into the ground, which cracked in response, with spiderweb-like fissures spreading for over two meters from the point of impact.

Yamibari's demon-slaying blade slashed directly at Akihiro's right leg. Akihiro didn't dodge. Instead, he extended sharp claws from his fingertips and lunged for Yamibari's shoulder.

"Rip!"

The sharp claws pierced into Yamibari's shoulder, and with a fierce tear, Akihiro ripped off Yamibari's left arm.

Yamibari's demon-slaying blade also directly severed Akihiro's right leg, causing him to stumble and almost fall to his knees. He had to use his right wing for support to regain his balance.

Next, Yamibari didn't hesitate. Having just severed Akihiro's leg, he immediately pulled back his demon-slaying blade and slashed directly at Akihiro's waist and abdomen. Akihiro, with one hand, grabbed the blade, ignoring the profusely flowing blood, while his other claw dug towards Yamibari's eyeball.

Yamibari turned his head to dodge but still had one of his eyeballs pierced...

The battles between demons were this brutal: blood and severed limbs flew everywhere.

Bodies quickly became mangled, then quickly regenerated.

Both demons wanted to end the battle as quickly as possible, unanimously adopting a strategy of trading blows. Now, it was just a matter of who would give out first.

Akihiro's face grew increasingly grim. He seemed unable to endure it any longer and furiously roared:

"Damn it! If these blazing feathers weren't so energy-consuming, and I just used too many by accident and you dodged them, how could I be entangled with you like this? I would have twisted off your head long ago!"

Yamibari laughed loudly:

"New born, you just mastered a Blood Demon Art and you're already misusing it. How powerful do you think you are?"

"Why won't you eat humans? Humans are so delicious! Smell that corpse in the cave, how fresh it tastes!"

"As a demon, are you still thinking of becoming human? You can't go back, hahaha."

Akihiro extended his fangs and fiercely tore off a large chunk of meat from Yamibari's arm, then spat it aside. At the same time, his stomach was gashed open by Yamibari, exposing his internal organs beneath the skin.

But at this moment, both demons seemed to feel no pain, merely attacking each other wildly, aiming to inflict more damage.

As he fought, Yamibari taunted:

"Don't think so highly of humans, and don't view demons as evil or lowly."

"In the great oceans of the natural world, tiger sharks cruelly hunt seals, and seals also hunt penguins, tearing open their bellies and playing with them until they die painfully before eating them. But penguins, too, treat small fish in the same way."

"Aren't humans also cruel and heartless, enjoying disemboweling their prey, or even barbecuing them alive into food?"

"And demons are the tiger sharks relative to humans. Eating humans is natural. All of this is merely natural selection and survival of the fittest; it's simply natural evolution."

"Since you've become a demon, then follow your racial instincts. If you don't eat humans, you're just a freak, neither human nor demon. Humans won't accept you, and demons will want to kill you. You can't become human again, hahaha."

Yamibari wanted to shake Akihiro's resolve with words. The battle was in a stalemate; whoever wavered would immediately fall into a disadvantage.

But Yamibari's words weren't baseless ramblings; these were principles he truly believed, and thus they carried strong persuasive power.

Akihiro was silent. Yamibari's words were not without reason, but there was one thing he said that was wrong.
