Chapter 308: Manipulation Skill detected
The vampires around watched in absolute silence as Scarlet and Elizabeth took their positions in the makeshift arena. The tension in the air was almost palpable, and everyone's gaze was fixed on the two figures, one facing the other. Elizabeth was the first to move, adjusting her stance with elegant grace, but with fierce determination in her eyes.
Scarlet, on the other hand, seemed completely at ease. Her casual and relaxed smile indicated that she wasn't taking the duel too seriously. Her arms were crossed, and she seemed more interested in analyzing Elizabeth's movements than preparing for an immediate attack.
"Come on, princess," Scarlet taunted, tilting her head slightly. "Show me what you've got. I promise I'll try not to get too bored."
Elizabeth gritted her teeth, channeling her energy with precision. A cold aura began radiating from her body, freezing the ground around her instantly. Without hesitation, she advanced, firing several ice blades toward Scarlet with impressive speed. The blades sliced through the air with a deadly whistle, but Scarlet remained motionless.
An Ice Elemental... what a joke... Scarlet thought.
As the first projectile was about to hit her, Scarlet simply sidestepped, her movement so fluid it looked like a dance. Each ice blade passed by just grazing her, not even scratching her skin. The onlookers murmured in admiration, but Elizabeth didn't lose focus.
"Hmph. Not a bad start," Scarlet commented, still wearing that annoying smile. "But if this is what you consider 'proving your strength,' you might still be far off."
Elizabeth narrowed her eyes, her frustration beginning to grow. Without wasting any time, she clapped her hands together, summoning a massive ice pillar that shot up from the ground, attempting to catch Scarlet by surprise. The structure rose quickly, but Scarlet leapt backward with almost careless lightness, landing several meters away with no effort whatsoever.
"Interesting. A bit more strength this time," Scarlet admitted, her eyes shimmering with excitement. "Maybe you're not entirely mediocre."
However, Elizabeth didn't stop there. Taking advantage of the opening, she conjured several ice spears, each glowing with an intense blue light, and hurled them toward Scarlet with deadly precision. This time, Scarlet raised an eyebrow, finally lifting her hand. A simple snap of her fingers was enough to deflect all the spears, which fell to the ground, shattering into glittering crystals.
"Are you testing me, or are you actually trying to hit me, Elizabeth?" Scarlet asked, her voice laced with sarcasm.
"Arrogant show-off..." Elizabeth muttered under her breath. She knew Scarlet was holding back, and that only fueled her determination. Discover hidden content at My Virtual Library Empire
Focusing herself, she channeled even more energy, summoning a massive snowstorm around the arena. The winds howled, and visibility drastically decreased, but Scarlet stood still, as though nothing had changed.
"Interesting..." Scarlet murmured to herself. "Well, if that's how you want to play, I guess I can try a little harder."
When Elizabeth emerged from the storm, her ice sword already summoned and ready to strike, Scarlet finally moved to retaliate. With a swift motion, she raised her hand and blocked the blade with just two fingers. The shockwave caused the ground to tremble, but Scarlet maintained her calm expression.
"Is that all?" she asked, tilting her head to the side. "If it is, I guess I'll have to teach you a lesson or two about what true strength means."
Strax stood in a corner of the circle, watching with a lazy smile on his face. He twirled the blood-filled chalice in his hand, his eyes glowing with interest as he analyzed every movement of Scarlet and Elizabeth.
"Elizabeth has guts," he muttered to himself. "But Scarlet… she's barely started. This is going to be fun."
Belatrix, on the other hand, stood with her arms crossed, a mocking smile on her lips. "Mom is a monster. Does Elizabeth really think she can face her? Ridiculous. Still, I admire the courage."
Daniela, who was standing beside Strax, snorted. "Mom's going to play with her until she loses interest. I bet she'll end this in a few minutes."
Cassandra smiled slightly, her eyes fixed on the fight. "Mom won't finish so quickly. She likes this. She enjoys testing others, even if the outcome is inevitable. Elizabeth has no idea what she's gotten into..."
Shit... Elizabeth stepped back, frustrated. She knew Scarlet was toying with her, but she couldn't let that affect her determination. Channeling more energy, she created an explosion of ice that covered the field in seconds. The ground froze completely, and sharp icicles shot up around Scarlet, trying to trap her.
Scarlet looked at the ice surrounding her with curiosity, clicking her tongue. "A trap? How cute."
With a simple gesture of her hand, Scarlet's aura exploded, shattering all the ice into tiny pieces. Elizabeth was forced to shield herself from the rain of fragments, her breath becoming heavier. Scarlet, however, seemed untouched, as if she hadn't exerted any effort at all.
"Enough of the warm-up," Scarlet said, finally adopting a more offensive stance. "Let's see how much you can really endure."
With impressive speed, Scarlet disappeared from her position, reappearing behind Elizabeth in the blink of an eye. Before Elizabeth could react, Scarlet struck the air, creating a shockwave that sent Elizabeth flying several meters backward. The vampire princess landed with difficulty, but rose to her feet, her determination still burning in her eyes.
Strax grinned wider, taking a sip from his chalice. "Here she goes. Scarlet can't resist playing with her prey."
Belatrix rolled her eyes. "Elizabeth should give up now. She has no chance, and everyone here knows it."
"Maybe she's not fighting to win," Cassandra suggested calmly. "Maybe she's trying to prove something to herself." She shrugged.
Daniela snorted again. "Prove she can get beaten by Scarlet? What an accomplishment."
Strax merely laughed, not taking his eyes off the field. "You underestimate the importance of a battle like this. Elizabeth is learning more than it seems. But Scarlet… well, she's just having fun..."
As Strax looked at the scene from afar, he felt the strange air beginning to gather around Elizabeth... Elizabeth gathered a large portion of the ambient energy, and the mana of the entire area started to converge around her, and then...
A massive ice dragon formed around her, roaring as it charged toward Scarlet. The spectators held their breath, waiting to see how Scarlet would react.
Scarlet simply raised her hand, her red aura intensifying. With a simple gesture, she dissipated the dragon in an explosion of steam, the heat from her power melting the ice instantly. When the smoke cleared, Scarlet stood in the same spot, still looking at Elizabeth with a smile that was even more dangerous.
"That was a good effort," Scarlet admitted, tilting her head. "But you're still light-years away from catching up to me." She smiled...
Elizabeth looked at Scarlet with a strange smile...
"I thought I could just use the basics... but it seems that's not the case... I'm still not used to this power, but... it's better than just playing with ice," Elizabeth said as the energy around her began to darken her aura...
Scarlet narrowed her eyes slightly upon noticing the change in Elizabeth's aura. The energy around the princess had taken on a darker tone, almost like a pulsing shadow that seemed to absorb the light around it. Scarlet's smile remained, but now there was a spark of interest in her eyes.
"It looks like you've been holding back, princess," Scarlet said, her voice a mix of provocation and curiosity. "Interesting. Show me what you really have."
Elizabeth lifted her head, her determined gaze now intensified by a presence that seemed larger than her own. "You want to see what I'm capable of? Don't regret it when I push you beyond your limits."
Meanwhile, Strax felt a slight pressure on his chest as he saw a golden message flashing in his peripheral vision. He quickly shifted his gaze to read the text:
[Warning! The user has encountered a manipulation skill!]
"Another one? First blood manipulation... now..." Strax paused for a moment, his voice fading into the air as his eyes fixed on Elizabeth. Something was about to happen, something he hadn't anticipated.
She began to be enveloped by dense darkness, as if the very shadow of the world was claiming her. The environment around her seemed to freeze, the light being swallowed by a dark mist that spread over her body. In the next second, Elizabeth's silhouette contorted, as if she were a work of art being sculpted in real-time.
She rose now, no longer as a mere woman, but as a creature of pure seduction and power. Her skin, once smooth, now turned an ivory pale tone, glowing with a supernatural aura. The texture of her skin seemed even more silky, with a faint silver reflection, as if the moon itself had touched her flesh. Her beauty was no longer human; it transcended any earthly definition.
Elizabeth's eyes transformed into two amber orbs, burning with inhuman intensity, as if the eternal thirst for blood were alive in them. Her pupils dilated, acquiring a hypnotic glow, capable of ensnaring anyone in her gaze. Every movement of her body seemed designed to enchant and dominate, an irresistible allure that hung in the air.
Her lips, now fuller and redder, curved into an enigmatic smile, revealing sharp fangs that gleamed like blades of pleasure and pain. The simple movement of her tongue around her lips conveyed an insatiable desire, as if every breath was laden with fatal promises.
Her figure, already voluptuous, now seemed even more powerful and seductive. The contour of her breasts and hips, perfectly proportioned, seemed accentuated with each movement, exuding a deadly confidence. Elizabeth's body, slimmer and more imposing, was in complete harmony with the vampiric aura surrounding her, a mix of uncontrollable power and pure lust.
