Denial, Blood of The Fae

Chapter 86: Chapter 86: Perspective and Golden Ichor

Raven grunted as he shoved his way into the room of the classroom he was teaching in today, a small bead of sweat on his face from how fast he had been going.

"Welcome everyone to Magus Politics 101." Raven said as he pointed his pointer stick at a chalkboard as it had the word, Magus, written on it.

"As you are all aware, Magus are another branch of human magic users. They posssess magic circuits compared to the cores of the other two human casters. I'm sure you are all aware of this, so I won't be speaking of that. No, today we will be speaking of magus politics." Raven said with a grin that was a bit too feral for some of the students.

"Now can someone tell what they might already know about this particular piece?" Raven asked as he glanced out at the third years in front of him, idly he saw Rose in the crowd and momentarily locked eyes with her, telling her to stay silent.

"Go on ahead Ms. Granger."

"Magus are very research focused people, all in the pursuit of the root."

"Not incorrect Ms. Granger. Most magus do their research in hope of obtaining True Magic. They must find their own route, for no route can be used again." Raven answered her question.

"Mr. Malfoy do you have an answer for me instead of choosing to gossip with your friends?" Raven asked smiling softly, it was soft, but no one felt it was safe.

"Magus are cold blooded killers." Draco answered after a moment and Raven stared blankly at him as the class was telling him to be serious.

"Silence." Raven said softly and everyone got real quiet. "He is correct. Magus are cold blooded killers. Almost nothing will get in their way of completing their research. They will strap you to their table and dissect you for sheer amusement and curiosity." Raven let his fangs momentarily appear as everyone shied away from him slightly.

"Magus will do everything and anything. Morals? Don't exist. Humanity? Last millennia. Empathy? Never heard of it. Magus are considered one of the scariest beings alive. Not for their power, they're many beings capable of destroying and overpowering them. Not for their minds. Not for their bodies. No. For their cruelty that can even make the cruelest devils look like saints." Raven said seriously, but as he looked at the disbelievers in the students he let a small hum out as he recalled the perfect thing to prove his point.

"Fine then, an example. Lennie Johnston. A bright young scholar attending classes at the watchtower. He possessed a unique set of mystic eyes. A noble decided he wanted them because they were a nice color. So he kidnapped the young man and took his eyes for himself. Now you're probably thinking that's it and he either killed him ot let him free for amusement." Raven was easily predicting their thoughts, also totally not because he was skimming their surface thoughts.

"Incorrect. The noble used Lennie's body for his experiments in attempting to recreate the unique properties of the eyes for mass production. For six months he was experimented on. Eight months after that he was found, alive. No longer looking human. He was put down as a mercy. So just remember, magus could take an interest in you and you will experience stuff worst then hell itself." Raven said with a bit of irony in his tone that went unnoticed by everyone.

It was ironic since he regularly visited what was technically hell. At least the Greek one, sometimes he pops into Yomi.

So for the next half an hour Raven was explaining how politics went for magus, which was summed up as don't get caught. So not to different all around the world.

Raven let a soft hum out as he looked at five different books at once, thank you weakling body doubles. He should find a proper name for them, just in general.

He shook his head and focused on his current task, slowly, and painfully, translating fae runes into proper language. At best he's getting a rough translation of the language in written form.

Which while he can do a passable translation of the language, he can't tell what could be the exact meaning, after all, words don't mean the same thing in different languages.

Like the words "After". In English it meaning Following, but in German it means Anus. Just because things look the same, doesn't mean they are after all.

"Oh well, I guess I'll focus on something else for now, let those four puzzle on working on the language. If he knew what the language was like spoken, he could speak it and have it recorded and reverse engineer the language that way, but no one he knows speaks Fae.

He probably should avoid bothering the Celtic mythology for a little while, messing with divine beings is one thing, fighting them would be another. He's sure he could handle the weaker fodder ones, but anything above that he'd lose to.

Divinity was bullshit and everyone knew it. Just pure cheats is what it was. Cheating!

With a grunt, he created a dawn ingot and used alteration to make it into a flat piece of metal. Then he started carving runes into it.

"One cluster for durability and repair." Raven mused as he carved that cluster of runes into the metal. "One cluster for the shield mechanics." Raven paused as he considered the languages to use for this one and decided to use a mix of Latin, Greek and Japanese.

He spent twenty minutes redesigning the cluster, but once he got what he wanted he nodded to himself.

"Now a binding rune and a cleaning rune… ok, now shape it into the desired form." Raven mumbled as he used alteration to form the flat piece of metal into a nice set of earrings.

They had a small silver chain connecting to the main piece which was a beautiful blue gem held by a silver sun looking piece of dawn metal. With a pleased nod he created a small box and stored them away, a piecing of wrapping tape around it sealed the box up and he stored it away into his pocket dimension.

So with a nod he cleaned up the area and headed out, those idiot teens wouldn't teach themselves after all.

Izanami chuckled to herself as she looked on with amusement at Raven and followed after him. For all he was a genius, he was kinda stupid, but she supposed in this regard it wasn't entirely his fault.

Raven slinked his way through a cluster of spells shot at him with practical ease. On the rare occasion he raised his hand and a shield appeared to block the spell.

One back flip later he was grinning at the softly panting Rose who's wand was sparking with the next spell to shoot at him.

He raised a shield right in front of her and cackled as it bounced her spell right back at her, however he panicked when he realized it was a cutting curse and a very deep gash formed along her chest.

"Shit!" He moved forward to heal her as he dropped his repelling shield and was hit with a flurry of spells. "Well played." Raven said as he canceled the spells out before they could just hit him, so it looked like the spells splashed against him and broke into sparks.

He still appeared in front of Rose and started healing her, or rather he was going too, but noticed two particular things.

1) Her wound has flames licking at the injury and it was slowly closing, much slower then his own, but it was regeneration for sure. A form of fire healing.

2) Her blood was red, but he could seek flakes of gold in it if he looked closely, magnifying his sight with magic he could see the golden flakes much more.

First he added a bit of fire onto his hand and watched as it was consumed by the flames healing Rose and her regeneration sped up considerably due to the power in his flames. After all, those flames of his could easily melt a city down to ash in just a couple minutes.

Second he took a bit of her blood and stored it into a vial for later use.

"I hope you don't mind if I study your blood? I'm curious about something." Raven said, and if she did say no, it would be a shame, but he'd just have to go based on his memories instead of using her blood.

"You can." She said as she rubbed a finger over her now healed chest cut, not even a small scar remained.

"Thanks, now… land safely." Raven said grabbing her arm and then suddenly standing up and spinning before letting go as she went flying into the distance.

"Never let your guard down." He smiled as he heard her screams in the distance, alongside promises of murder and torture.

"You sure got a death wish mate." The voice of one of the twins said and Raven nodded to himself as he smiled.

The next moment two more shooting stars could be seen flying in the general same direction as Rose had been sent.

"That'll teach them." He nodded pleased with himself and stored away the blood for future testing. If he's right about something, then he'll be pissed as hell.

Raven laughed softly as he saw a plume of dirt from Rose smashing into the ground followed by a giant plume of flames. Then two more shortly afterwards, much bigger though in size of dirt plumes, and probably much bigger craters.

He smirked as he saw flames traveling towards him like a beam of light. He raised a shield and watched curiously as Rose slammed through it with surprising ease.

He curiously noted that her flames had taken on multiple colors, her normal flames were a warm orange color. When fueling them with extra power they became red. When properly angry they were green. Now they were a purple color.

However these flames screamed danger at him.

So without a moments hesitation he moved forward and grabbed the worst of Rose and tossed her into a bolder and forced a sleep spell on her. Idly he spun kicked the twins flying away and made them shooting stars that went even farther this time. He could hear their groans as they blasted off.

"What nasty flames." Raven chuckled as he stared at the purple flames burning his hand away, even his bones were melting down.

With a bit of wind manipulation he cut his right arm off from just above the wrist and watched the remains fall to the ground and burn up into melty goodness. The purple flames were then extinguished.

"Scary." Raven smirked as his hand regrew itself and he clenched it. "I liked the old one better." He said after a moment and then shrugged as he grabbed Rose and cast some basic healing magic to help with the headache she'd no doubt have from being tossed into a rock.

With a nod to himself he picked her up bridal style and dropped her off in the hospital wing. He quickly rushed off before Poppy could yell at him for overdoing it again.

Idly through the runic cluster he made appear on each twins wrist he watched amused as they finally swam their way back out of the ocean and reached land.

"Maybe I kicked them a little too far…" he laughed slightly embarrassed. He decided to hole up in his workshop for a bit.

Raven stared confused at the microscope before him. It was magically enhanced, and looking at some of the blood he got from Rose, he could for sure see golden flakes in it.

"Golden flakes, where is that familiar from?" Raven mumbled confused.

"It's Ichor, the blood of the third generation of divine beings in the Greek Pantheon. Like how Hades blood is gold, that is Ichor." Izanami said as she appeared onto his head.

"Oh? So that means my dear fiery apprentice is a Demigod. Oh my~" Raven cackled loudly as a sinister look appeared in his eyes.

"Seems like a trip to Hades is in order once I extract the energy from this Ichor to trace its origin." Raven said as Izanami casually held her paw forward and a fiery orange aura formed into a cyrstalized form.

"Here's an easier and faster way. I can show you it sometime later." She promised and he smiled as he tossed it into his dimensional storage and opened a portal beneath him to the underworld, it was time to see Hades about making a divine being pay out child support.

Izanami latched into Raven as they fell through the portal below them, her form returning to that of a human looking one. Her arms wrapped around her neck.

I've been really waiting to get to this chapter, because it slowly starts getting more into the other parts of the supernatural beyond just what's been seen so far. With the introduction of the divine properly, much more fun will begin to happen.

Anyways I hope you enjoyed, I'd write a longer author notes, but some new parts for my PC arrived and I can't wait to install them.

Till next time!

Bye~
